What is the best JRPG ever made and why is it P5.
What is the best JRPG ever made and why is it P5
what other jrpgs have you played?
Pokemon
People hate on them all the time on here but I think Golden Sun 1 and 2 and Breathe Of Fire 1 and 2 are easily some of the best RPG/JRPG games I've ever played.
They're simple but challenging at times, they're fun, the stories are interesting and engaging, and there's lots to do, and the art style for all are great and have nice designs.
Honestly, the GBA is probably the best JRPG machine; so many dank games on that thing.
Nice, at least we can all now agree that your opinion on the matter is completely irrelevant
It's actually Persona 4
my favourite
No other JRPG has a cuter character than Yusuke, name one motherfucker I dare you.
Oh wait, hat's impossible
If underwritten and boring = cute, then you are correct
How is it that Dungeon Travellers 2 managed to have better dungeon RPG mechanics than this game?
Rather than forcing you to leave before the boss out of pity by having a dumbass story mechanic, you can just come and go whenever in that game.
Also no fucking garbage time limits or having to savescum or sequence-break the game in order to grind levels/money.
I can't wait to be done with this fucking game, the only thing keeping me in is waifus now
Persona 5 is pretty good tier but it's very flawed, it's not even the best Persona game let alone best Megaten game.
You didn't play many JRPGs during your lifetime did you? What brought you to the genre, some youtube faggot, memes?
The cute peeps in the game that's fucking who
>Breathe Of Fire 1 and 2 are easily some of the best RPG/JRPG
Jesus Christ. That is some bland taste.
Oh and I actually prefer Conception 2's social interaction system. It does the Persona thing of limited interactions per day except there's never any time limit as far as I remember (and if there was, it would only be at climactic story points which had downtime between them until you chose to advance it).
Man if the gameplay was better that game would've been fuckin great
What's something better than? I've never played a JRPG that really captured me like BF1/2 or GS1/2 have. I've liked and loved plenty of other JRPG games but I just haven't played something else that got me like those.
I just can't get into Persona 5, I was so excited to play it, but I can't play it consistently. As flawed and cheesy as 4 was, I at least felt comfy playing it and 3 had a nice flow to it. I mean 5 is actually the best one from a purely gameplay perspective, but I can't get into it. Am I getting too old for these games?
You picked the game for the wrong reasons. The time limit is an immersion thing, in order to make you feel like you are actually spending a year in the world it creates and it allows for control over the pace of the game, you basically can't just rush out things but need to take your time and wait for shit to happen.
Also adds some extra depth by making you think about how you are going to spend the time you have well.
> sequence-break the game in order to grind levels/money.
You shouldn't be grinding in Persona games. And they make it perfectly clear by making leveling up extremely slow once you reach the level the game expects you to be at that time.
It's good but I prefer SMT to the Persona series. I don't mind the slice of life aspect but I'm not big on having a time restraint.
Even something on the GBA like Mario & Luigi Super Star Saga is a much better game than the first two Breath of Fire games. Skills to utilize outside of battles and the player having a more active role during battles in regards of attacking and defending. Not only that but it has a charming, light hearted story.
SMT is better in pretty much every aspect except maybe waifus. It's a shame the series is on portable now, the new games since PS2 era feel like low budget spin offs of Persona.
>Persona 5
>Not SMT IV
Shin Megami Tensei: This Time It's Persona 5
How the hell am I supposed to get any decent skills on my personas without a bit of grinding though when they earn exp at the same rate but there's like 8 of them with me at once?
Also I'm really just grinding for money because working takes up game time. I dunno, I usually expect JRPGs to be the type of game I can minmax the fuck out of in order to bust open some aspect of it, whether that be just the money side or the whole thing at some point.
The only thing that drew me to this one besides all the clamor was the aesthetics, music, and characters.
>How the hell am I supposed to get any decent skills on my personas without a bit of grinding though when they earn exp at the same rate but there's like 8 of them with me at once?
Take your time when it comes to getting strong personas, the equipped persona is basically your character's stats so it's only natural that you don't get access to the best strongest personas from the start.
As for skills you are supposed to fuse the personas, fuse the shit out of them until you get what you want. Go to mementos if you need more personas to fuse. If you make proper use of mechanics you can get indestructible powerhouses with repel physical, several immunities and shit ton of tier 3 skills by mid game.
What is the best Megaten game and best JRPG?
Forgot to add that you aren't supposed to level up your personas, the only levels your personas should gain is through SLink boosts and gallows. Not through combat.
The one you played first.
They're all great.
I should feel a sense of smugness when I read stuff like this, but I genuinely feel nothing right now
actually play other games before you say stupid shit like this
While i like P5 and it's my favorite PS4 game right now. I wouldn't call it the best RPG ever.
>JRPG
i felt similar, i really adored it up until the story catches up- it was a bit of a slog then. my biggest disappointment was no winter scenes like in 4 as well. 3 has the most engaging story for me, 4 is the comfiest and the one i felt the strongest about, but 5 is the best "game". it's just that persona games are built around features besides the rpg gameplay really.
>best JRPG
What does that even mean anymore? The genre is so full of garbage.
That’s not SMT IV: Apocalypse
