This. A buddy gifted it to me and if you go into it with your hopes low it's fun enough. The concept is fun (yes, I know it's not original) and the fact that it's even somewhat stable makes it better than other shit on the market.
All that being said I can't wait for a AAA team to tackle it and absolutely body this faggot ass dev.

Okay here is the thing. This game actually isn’t even popular at all among Westerners. Only the Chinese play it. The only reason we keep hearing about it is because the chinks love it

honestly its just a refinement of H1Z1 which after DayZ crashed and burned, furthered itself from the "Walking Simulator" title and under new direction went the way of the Battle Royal type, the same dude who was behind that is behind PUBG

Fortnite is literally just luck in 90% of the games, literally zero skill just pure luck you landed in a house with a GOOD weapon and a shield.

It's a little bit of fun for sure. You have to ignore how shit everything about it is though. From bad servers to what seems like poor coding to pure laziness on the devs behalf. It also just feels clunky, the fact that it's psudo-realistic not withstanding. A game that has done as well as this one should be in much better condition/be more polished.

This is probably the most vile part of playing this game, each weapon comes with an inherent grade, so default is grey then green then blue etc until you hit Yellow, this fucks the game because a grey assault rifle vs a green assault rifle means the green will win basically every encounter due to increased damage, less recoil, less spread, greater accuracy, less greater range. The person with the grey rile is fucked even if he's the better player due to his weapon being inherently worse.

Just fuck this mechanic, you either get lucky and find one or you don't. This again eradicates the skill gap and devolves it into loot luck

Gets seriously boring when people can just shit out limitless walls with zero cool-down time. The end of the round is literally just people shitting walls all over the place and bunny hopping like spastics everywhere

It has some huge technical flaws and the gameplay feels extremely janky, especially in the first person mode. If you can look past that, it's a pretty fun game, especially with friends.

it's basically a FFA game, so yeah. even if every player got the same drops it'd still be heavily luck based in terms of who wins.

I don't want to defend this game, or the subhuman chinese hackers and idlers who make up so much of it, but it's definitely playable without tons of blatant hackers. But hey, maybe I'm lucky.

Who will post all day about how you're just shit at the game because they can pull off headshots from 500m with a pistol and kill about 25 players a game because they're just so amazing.

Basically the Dark Souls fanbase.

It's fun when it isn't broken, so about 50% of the time. Don't regret the money I've spent on it at all.

Yes. Don't listen to the nay sayers. They clearly are shit and rely on camping to be good at these types of games. For example
This user probably stays put in whatever place he drops in unless he has to move to get in the circle. It really doesn't matter what you get when you drop in. 90% of the time it is a decent gun and some health stuff or shield, maybe some bonus stuff. You don't need the best shit to kill people in this game like this user says. That is just nonsense and he is clearly a shit player. It's all about getting the drop on your opponent if you think your shit is weak. Keep moving and watching your sides and back, if you spot another player, ensure they didn't spot you, then track them down and kill. Take their shit. That's how you get better shit. Let the hoarders collect the good shit for you; they usually suck at fighting and run around like morons, jumping all over the place. Meanwhile, you should be crouching and moving stealthly from bush/tree/obstacle to bush/tree/obstacle.

I'd also add that the building element in fortnight makes it automatically more complex then PUBG. There are so many different ways you can fuck with your opponent through building and by also fucking with his building. I won a match on there by gernading some guys fortress, then sneaking into the blown out bottom section, sealing it back up, and waiting for the rest to kill each other. Then edit the wall I made into a door, leave and kill the last guy who was hopping around like an idiot looking for me.

It's shit but it has an active community.

Look at games like Overwatch that struggle to keep people playing. PUBG doesn't have that issue. You either accept it's shit but has an active community or just don't play online games. If you play online games you're already playing.

There's like a 25 to 50-hour learning curve to this game, then you keep playing with friends because you have nothing better to do and the RNG puts you into new situations which is fun

After about 200 hours you learn how to play the game properly and actually knowing how to play makes the game a lot better, much like a MOBA

An okay game that has its obvious flaws ignored or feverishly defended by its fans.
Generally no one can address any criticism of the game without just calling the person making the criticism bad at the game.
You'll get the normal rubbish about there being some kind of learning curve, but that is largely bullshit.
