Let's face it...

Let's face it. The Switch only appears to be selling well and "breaking records" because of Nintendo's bizarre release timing. They benefited from the console's launch sales being separate from the holiday rush, and when compared with consoles that had normal releases, it appears to be better. Reusing their artificial scarcity scam from the Wii has added to the illusion. Don't be fooled, the Switch is in for a serious sales drop-off in 2018. By now all the Nintendo fans have bought it, and its release window is completely barren for the new year. It's already DoA in Europe, and the PS4 outsold it worldwide over the holidays. There's nowhere to go from here but down.

Delete this please. Not joking.

?
If they've been selling at a profit this whole time, then they've more than made up for the creation and advertisement of the Switch.
They might be 'all downhill from here', but Nintendo doesn't care, they'll just make yet another new console in a few years and rake in yet more money.
Nintendo is sitting on a shit ton of extra cash that they never spend just so they can keep going during the down times between releases. They'll keep doing this.

That is some advanced mental gymnasticd

The problem is that they are not reinvesting that money into new IPs or worthwhile third-party exclusives, which will continue to keep PlayStation customers away.

Lets not pretend anyone buys a PS4 for new IPs or exclusives, those dont even manage to within the top 50 best selling games if -and thats a big if- they even manage to be in the top 100 best selling games.

Or.. OR.. are you listening user? Maybe it's selling because... It has games

They've been doing it, just not on a massive scale
An example, splatoon, they invested enough in it that it got a sequel, at least.

What games though? It only has Mario as a decent exclusive.

> The Switch only appears to be selling well and "breaking records" because of Nintendo's bizarre release timing.

I seem to recall most people naysaying the release timing, saying that not releasing in time for the 2016 holiday was the blunder of the century. That no one was going to buy a video game console in March and if there were going to be any decent sales it would be from people who waited until the 2017 holiday season.

It’s not selling well

Report and hide this post

Remember when sonegroes claimed that the March release was hurting the Switch's sales?

/thread

user, the question is why do you care so much.

Shut the fuck up

Saving this for So(nn)yboi rekt threads

That and calling attention to Switch selling less than the PS4 launch aligned in its first few months, saying PS4's holiday boost at launch was a non-factor. Now it's "No fair, we can't count Switch's sales after it's had a holiday season."

oh shit, rekt

Sup Forums hates admitting defeat.

See?

The Switch so far has been a massive success and they really REALLY hate when Nintendo keeps coming back.

Tatsumi is laughing his old fucking ass off right now. And it's going to get much more interesting on here in a couple days.

OP btfo

Why do fucks like you insist on posting shit like this? Where the fuck are mods

Lets not pretend anyone buys a Nintendo console for new IP's either. Wonderful 101=flopped, Bayonetta 2=flopped. Every 3rd party exclusive that wasn't Zelda or Mario basically flopped.

This is also true for 3rd party exclusives on Wii. Nobody really bought Madworld or No More Heroes either. Appealing to PS4 weebs could help Nintendo out a lot.

>m-mommy where is m-my soy milkies!

Who gives a fuck how they sell as long as they exist and are good.

>Who gives a fuck how they sell as long as they exist and are good.
You don't get a sequel if they don't sell good you fucking retard.

>The problem is that they are not reinvesting that money into new IPs

What? Arms came out last year and they already said more new IPs are coming.

Your post makes no sense because a normal console launch also benifit from “launch” sales as well as holidays. It’s on the same day that doesn’t mean it didn’t benefit from both.

In fact, it’s why Microsoft and Sony and previously Nintendo launched their console during the holidays because sales are stronger.

Bayo3? Xenoblade?

I already own Xenoblade 2 and I'm getting Bayo3.

On the one hand, I'm happy it's doing well because I'd like to see Nintendo be more relevant. On the other, Kimishima's a cunt and I don't like to see fanboys arguing $80 controllers, mobileshit and VC streaming are OK simply because he inherited a system launching with a Zelda game, as Wii did. I hope to see some pushback from consumers on his horseshit.

Arms, a new IP, sold more than 1 million and is close to 2 if i remember correctly. Splatoon became one of Nintendo's biggest franchises with the release of it's sequel. Bayonetta 3 was revealed last month, and another No More Heroes game was announced a while back. What are you talking about? Wonderful 101 did flop, but it was a niche game in an underwhelming system, it wasn't exactly destined for success. Other than that, Nintendo's new IPs are doing fine, and i can assure you that there will be more in the future.

They're making Bayo3 and a new NMH game though, so there goes your argument.
