What was the point of this scene?

What was the point of this scene?

To make soyim feel bad

To confront you with the real-world consequences of what many modern military shooters ask you to do matter-of-factly and then tell you what a good job you did after the fact.

To manufacture artificial guilt.
Just like a certain group of people does it.

Artificial Plot

but war is supposed to be fun and awesome

this is such an artificial guilt plot i am offended

I thought it was well done. When they see the white phosphorus they never give it a second thought as to what kind of weapon they're really using, they're just like "we need to get to the gate, lets use it".

It was quite obvious there were civillians there, I tried to shoot the enemies instead or place the WP far away from them. But the game didn't let me.
I wouldn't even mind that though if at least the shooting was well done, but it's a fucking terrible TPS.
There's no replay value at all, it doesn't do anything right.

But Metal Gear Solid already did that years earlier in a way less preachy and obvious manner.

I do agree with that, the gameplay is completely forgettable. It's about the genericest TPS you can come up with.

I feel like they just had a story in mind (more like a rehash of Apoc Now) and the gameplay came way afterwards.

Its a deconstruction. And as usual people who like that genre dont like the deconstruction since they dont care about feeling bad for liking the genre while people who hate it wont play it.

I just wanted a decent TPS, not a preaching of morals.
Video games shouldn't be used as tools for such lowly goals, they are there to entertain first and foremost.
These "artsy fatrsy" homos need to go back spraying their shit on canvases instead of polluting this medium.
The gameplay was utter fucking ass.

War is hell

to show you that you were a monster for using white phosporus when you were fucking forced to do that and couldnt choose to not to use it

What game is this screenshot from?

>metal gear solid
>less preachy
what?

>they are there to entertain first and foremost.
There is plenty of space to make a game that doesnt just fire up the dopamine. Just like there are books that arent fun or movies that arent entertaining. They can be interesting in other ways. Horror isnt fun, because you get scared, still a lot of people enjoy horror.

Its this specific game that is bad due how the white phosphorous scene is forced upon you and how it is very straightforward with its message.

DUDE WAR LMAO

> Metal Gear less preachy

/thread

I doubt they'd have made a big deal if they used black phosphorous

Pretty sure it was supposed to make you start to feel disconnected from Walker's autism and shit decision making, but if your IQ in the 2 digits you can interpret that as the game blaming you.
