I love this masterpiece.

I hate this masterpiece.

I'm playing it now

I'm not playing it now

I have mixed opinions about this masterpiece.

best open world game that isnt an RPG in the last decade

I got the game on Christmas and already almost have 100 hours put into it.

Now I'm trying to get all 120 shrines. I have already done 100.

Is the DLC worth it? I heard it was a disappointment..,which is sad because once I get all shrines I won't have a reason to play anymore and I don't want to put this game down yet.

I enjoyed this game very much.
It's more of the same, but it does have the best divine beast and one of the best boss battles in the franchise.

Soyda soy of the wild.

I got bored after 120 hours

There he is. There he goes again. Look, everyone! He posted it once again! Isn't he just the funniest guy around?! Oh my God.

I can almost see your pathetic overweight frame glowing in the dark, lit by your computer screen which is the only source of light in your room, giggling like a like girl as you once again type your little soy pun in and fill in the captcha. Or maybe you don't even fill in the captcha. Maybe you're such a disgusting NEET that you actually paid for a Sup Forums pass, so you just hit submit. Oh, and we all know the joke. The "epic" soy boy joke, isn't it? I imagine you little shit laughing so hard as you click it that you drop your Doritos on the floor, but it's ok, your mother will clean it up in the morning. Oh, that's right. Did I fail to mention? You live with your mother. You are a fat fucking fuckup, she's probably so sick of you already. So sick of having to do everything for you all goddamn day, every day, for a grown man who spends all his time on Sup Forums posting about dumb soy puns. Just imagine this. She had you, and then she thought you were gonna be a scientist or an astronaut or something grand, and then you became a NEET. A pathetic shitposting NEET. She probably cries herself to sleep everyday thinking about how bad it is and how she wishes she could just disappear. She can't even try to talk with you because all you say is "SOY BOY SOY BOY SOY BOY." You've become a parody of your own self. And that's all you are. A sad little man laughing in the dark by himself as he prepares to indulge in the same old dance that he's done a million times now. And that's all you'll ever be.

Forever...

8/10, it was good and worth playing but Odyssey is the better game.

this. rip off

...

If you're enjoying it that much then the DLC is worth it. The Master Trials will keep you entertained for ages and the Balled of the Champions is a whole new slew of shrines (some of the best in my opinion) and far and away the best divine beast in the game.

This

This. It was AMAZING for the first 250 hours or so but then it got really boring. 6/10 at best.

honestly this. The first 100 hours were amazing but once I hit 300 hours the game shat the bed.

Played on Cemu for 15 hours then stopped. Shit isn't even Zelda anymore what with the lack of an actual main quest story and dungeons replaced by a gajillion easy shrines
>b-b-but zelda 1 was like that!
And zelda 1 was fucking garbage.

How is it on PC

>And zelda 1 was fucking garbage.

Its as shit as every other emulator - a fucking mess. But Sup Forums will try and pretend otherwise to convince themselves they don't need to buy a Nintendo.

Also my favorite argument is that Botw and Zelda 1 are quintessentially Zelda. Because it's not like there's a dozen fucking 3D and 2D games that were successfully critically received following the traditional Alttp design.

Alright.
Game is 8/10 at best. Nothing revolutionary. It's just like Witcher 3, a result of making a checklist of everything that is now popular in gaming, so:
>Open World
>Survival Elements
>RPG Elements
>YOU CAN CLIMB THAT MOUNTAIN
>Shit story
>Ubisoft game format.
>Repeating content over and over again.
Once you played the game for 20 hours, you have most likely seen everything the game has to offer. Shrines are one of the most lazy content i ever seen in any game, dungeons are lame, and final boss is a fucking joke.
Story is the worst from all Zelda games, all flashbacks purpose is not to tell the story but to show how HAHA QUIRKY AND FUNNY Zelda is.
Music is also the worst from all Zelda games, literally generic lazy OST that has not a single memorable piece.
90% of enemies you will meet are 3 the same monsters repeated over and over again, while 1 is the whole 70%.
The only good thing about the game is the artistic direction and the physics. First one is easily beaten by Persona 5 and later by Just Cause.
If the game was made by Ubisoft, people would shit on it forever without end.

So fucking boring. Its one of the most shallow games I have ever played and the AI is retarded and I thought that was supposed to be a strong point.

>Its as shit as every other emulator - a fucking mess. But Sup Forums will try and pretend otherwise to convince themselves they don't need to buy a Nintendo.
youtube.com/watch?v=qyl7aJ0EAcA
No one wants to buy Nintendo's soyboy iPad.

>shit
>lazy
>lame
>joke
>worst
>generic
>memorable
I took out all of the meaningless buzzwords that don't qualify as a solid argument unless you back them in detail. And without all that charged fluff your post looks like a whole bunch of nothing.

I'm stealing this pasta for future use.

trying too hard

games problems and repetition were apparent within 2-3 hours of leaving the great plateua

>SEEETHING
>HAHAHA MAD
>HAHAA TOOK OUT YOUR BUZZWORDS
Here.
Those are all, literally 100% of all arguments for why BotW is a good game.
You are retarded.

I played it at a Best Buy kiosk and stopped after killing one of those red goblin things. The controls are horrible and the graphics gave me a headache.

>l-look at these words!
Breath of the soyboy fags like you literally cannot stand any form of criticism so it didn't matter if he used those words or not. You're just deflecting right now to avoid his main points.

It's SO FUCKING BORING. I have never felt so bored in my life

I dislike how shallow the combat becomes after a while. Or the control scheme. Having Draw Bow and Raise Shield on the same key is a huge oversight.

The world is boring after a certain point. I got up to Gerudo just after that bird place and was constantly thinking to myself, there's fucking more??? But there's so little to do. I got bored of Korok seeds after the 10th one and I'd done 90% of the shrines 30 hours into the game. And that's it, other than farming lynel runs, there isn't much to do in the game. And it was all very repetitive.

I'd give it a 6/10 at most. I felt Witcher 3 was a lot better albeit the combat wasn't the greatest. I had more fun with Horizon: Zero Dawn imo.

>my charged opinionated drivel is not being taken seriously after being regurgitated for ELEVEN months by other teenagers? how could that beeeeee?

Okay I'm going to get the DLC after I'm done with the shrines. Because I wanna fight ganon again but with the green tunic this time for cool points.

stop shilling your soy

Its funny how you always see cemu footage in 5 minute clips. You never see some playing from beginning to end. Wonder why?

There he is. There he goes again. Look, everyone! He posted it once again! Isn't he just the funniest guy around?! Oh my God.

Articulate yourself better or fuck off. You're not entitled to being taken seriously when you have no argument.

>his main points
He had none. Let me spell it out for you here: he says "(x) is shit". Well gee golly, I sure am convinced. But wait! A counter! "No, (x) is good". BTFO. He can't say that my "argument" is less valid than his because neither of us used reasoning, we just made a subjective statement.

If you're a sappy fuck like me you're gonna cry at the end of the dlc

...

so this game is like the skyrim of dark souls right?

>You never see some playing from beginning to end. Wonder why?
Because the game is a boring piece of shit.

If it's so boring why give 22 thousand dollars a month to guys working on an emulator?

...you do know that the emulator is free right?

Is the patreon free too?

>"this element of gameplay is lazy design and a huge downgrade compared to previous titles that had much more unique content"
>NO ARGUMENT XD

>HAHAHAH MAD SONYBOY
>"Game is your average Open World and has the same flaws as any other game of this type"
>SEEEETING LOL *days since Sup Forums cried over BotW pic*
Literally all, 100% of discussions about BotW on this site.
All Switch fanboys are manchildren in denial.

>First 120 hours
Let's see if this becomes interesting
>121 hour
No

>the worst
>your average
>lazy
Nothing but opinionated drivel with no further elaboration.
It's laughable that you think you have a point.

The game so SO BEAUTIFUL.

>this element of gameplay is lazy design and a huge downgrade compared to previous titles that had much more unique content
But why is it a lazy design and a huge downgrade? It's not true because you said so

>Music is the worst in all Zelda games, i miss the tracks from Ocarina or Majora's Mask
How are those tracks objectively better than BOTW's? A silly thing to ask since music is subjective, but you're the one who made an objective statement about it

>Game is your average Open World and has the same flaws as any other game of this type
I disagree.

Correct

DLC is the best part. If you are going for all the shrines particularly since all 16 shrines in the DLC is better than every single non dlc shrine. Trial of the Sword is nice and the added story for each of the champions are also nice.

>750x422

So this is the power of the Switch.

If you ever want to do a second playthrough, then you'll want the DLC.
A second run on Master Mode, trying to utalize all that you learned from the first playthrough. Is great fun.

As someone who beat the game on the switch and did a shit ton of the side content, the game is much more enjoyable on Cemu with a hack for infinite stamina. There is not a single point in the game where climbing and running takes skill or is engaging.

It's amazing how much more beautiful the game is when your eyes aren't glued to the stamina wheel.

Looks ugly

>All Switch fanboys are manchildren in denial.
The fucking irony of this post.

What was actually good about this game, and why did it get good scores?

I get that the engine is nice, but the content? As for an open world game the world is pretty damn hollow. All quests are simple challenges such as ”kill this monster” or ”collect my chickens”.

The dialogue is next to non-existant and the story is dead air. Playing it on the Switch may have made the game more interesting, but not enough for 10/10 masterpiece.

Is it just babby’s first open world or a hard-on for Zelda? I’m genuinely confused as to why this is such a great game.

>the game is much more enjoyable on Cemu with a hack for infinite stamina. There is not a single point in the game where climbing and running takes skill or is engaging.
The fucking state of kids today.

>the traditional Alttp design
A Link to the Past is closer to BotW and Zelda 1 than Twilight Princess or Skyward Sword.

For BotW I looked up all the shrine locations and how to solve them cause I'm too stupid

I got bored after 5 hours. Still forced myself to play through it because the 10/10 can't be wrong.

Turned out it's the same memefest as Skyrim and Bioshock infinite.

It's a Zelda game and Nintendo bonus and everyone is fucking dumb and deluded except for you.
That's what you wanted to read and believe anyways so I don't get why you would ask what others find in the game.

Ey! Everybody look at this! Is Time Magazine. Time Magazine itself.

>he thinks climbing in BoTW is hard
the absolute state of kidtendos

The reason BotW gets such praise is because of it's Game Design. It's a completely open world where you literally can "climb that mountain". You are not bound by the traditional shackles of open world environments - you are free to do anything, go anywhere, even right to the end of the game if you want. There are no barriers, no invisible tunnels to funnel you through the world, no cheap progression deadends, no fences blocking your path. BotW lets you climb right over the fence.

In other open world games, getting from one place to the next involves nothing more than pointing your character in the correct direction your minimap and pushing UP on the joypad as you move along a flat trajectory. In BotW, verticality adds depth and makes exploration FUN and ENGAGING. Getting from one place to the next involves - get this - PLAYING A FUCKING GAME.

Then consider the sheer wealth of options available to you as you explore and how these options are integrated organically into the gameplay meaning that YOU decide how to fashion your own solutions to problems presented to you. It doesn't feel binary like other games. 10 months on and people are STILL finding new ways to accomplish stuff.

Then on top of all this player agency, you have intricate interconnected systems of environment, weather, climate and physics which inform the player and encourage them to adapt to the world around them.

This is just the base foundation of the game. There's an entire world of questing and adventure built on top of this. There's too much to mention.

Haters will scoff but they can't argue against it. Because there IS NO arguing against it.

And to consider that Nintendo coded this on a Wii U - A FUCKING WII U, literally 10 year old tech - is absolutely astonishing.

Because it's not a very good game. Is your average Ubisoft-like Open World game.
Switchtards never played a game in their life because they only knew rehashed Nintendo games for multiple years so when they finally got their hands on an Open World game they jizzed themselves.
Not worth any discussion, anyone who thinks that BotW is anything above 8/10 has no right to talk about gaming.

>more mindless shrines that require 0 brainpower
>reused bossfights cause fuck it
>a divine beast thank fuck some cool content
>here's your cool motorcycle that's worse then a horse with ancient armour on that's far easier to obtain
Your basically paying for shorter cooldowns on divine powers and a beast with a new bossfight

Mention an open world game that comes remotely close.

> BotW, verticality adds depth and makes exploration FUN and ENGAGING.
How many times does this actually happen, though? All I can think of are the mushroom rocks. The rest of the game is basically a flat plane with occasional barriers that take 20 seconds of pushing UP ton the joypad as you move along a flat trajectory.

/thread. Salty crybabies BTFO. Again.

The game is a pointless time waster. The main story is pathetic and filled with a couple of plot holes. The champions are ignored for the majority of the game and the divine beasts are easy besides Thunder boss ganon who was moderate in difficulty. Ganon was a pathetically easy boss, especially his final phase where you shoot the targets with a faggy bow. He also was cartoonishly evil and badly written into the plot.

Besides the mediocre main quests, the rest of the game is just....pointless. Weapons break too soon and there's no top gear worth conserving except the Hylian shield because of the shitty durability. Korok seeds were a terrible idea for inventory expansion and on top of the piss poor shrines, they padded the game way too much than needed.

The side quests themselves are also mostly pointless. There's just too many barebones NPC side quests and most are hardly rewarding. Essentially, you're just walking around in a nature sim trying to conserve all your shitty Bokoblin bats and Greatswords like a little faggot.

The only good thing about the game is the physics and the tablet powers and they're all underutilized in the actual main quest besides turning on the freeze power to get rid of flying ice blocks. There's just too much mediocre content and not enough main story content which is what I and most fags who even bother with the series really care about. It's like playing OoT or TP for only side content like the fishing pond games - what the fuck is wrong with you? That shit isnt Zelda.

I could go on and on but there's just too much disappointing shit for me to post about in a long ass post on a shit board like Sup Forums so I'l leave it at that. If I wasted $400 on a new Nintendo toy and had this game to play, I too would become a 10/10 Sup Forums IS SO MAD GOTY shitposter in order to ease the disappointment.

to elaborate on this, watch this faggot mention some stupid shit like far cry because you can burn grass while ignoring the hyper interactivity that the game is designed around.

>classic RPG series
>that copypasta
Nice bait.

>YOU decide how to fashion your own solutions to problems presented to you.
But those problems are very simply, i don't feel i have achieved something despite all the freedom i had. A videogame that gives you less freedom and more interesting problems would entertain me more.

I just wish that trannies were never allowed on this board.

Which is funny, because shrines and mega beasts restrict you, and are the only good parts of the game.

>Is it just babby’s first open world or a hard-on for Zelda?

It's both. Keep in mind Nintendrónes never played open world shit like Skyrim or Far Cry. Remember the scores Skyrim got? It's the same but with
>m-muh Zelda!
bonus added.

I have yet to see someone convincingly stating why the game deserves a 10/10.

>How many times does this actually happen, though?
Answer me this:

How did you get to the shrine at the top of the snowy area on the Great Plateau?

How did you survive the cold?
How did you cross the freezing river?
How did you get up that mountain?

I bet MY way of doing it was completely different from yours and that's the genius of the game. This is the entire game.

You might scoff and say "I don't think it's that great" but yet no other game does what BotW does. So obviously it's either extremely difficult for rival devs to code something on the scope, complexity and design sophistication of BotW or they simply hadn't thought of it.

It's fun pressing up for ten minutes straight. It's such great game design.

*sips soylent*

ITT:

>complexity
>design
>sophistication
>fun
>engaging
>depth
>astonishing
>agency
>interconnected
>progression
>verticality
Here.
I took out most of the buzzwords in your posts.
Now it's just a big pile of nothing.
Let's see how Nintentards react to their own stupid arguments.

So how is this game revolutionary and innovative? Isn't it just another open world game just done well?

>make game
>it's alright
>call it Zelda or Mario
>MASTERPIECE GOTY

>make game
>it's alright
>call it final fantasy
>WORST GAME EVER

Why is this allowed?

Imagine being this much of a BTFO faggot.
Everything he said actually is elaborated upon.
You just said "it's shit lel" and called it a day.

>How did you get to the shrine at the top of the snowy area on the Great Plateau?
I walked there. It was nothing but a boring walk through snow.
>How did you survive the cold?
There are literally spicy peppers in front of all entrances to the snow area, and a cooking pot conveniently placed nearby each.
>How did you cross the freezing river?
I didn't. The fastest path was walking to the shrine by the cliff, then walking to the top shrine after you finish that.
>How did you get up that mountain?
I pushed UP on the joystick, much like any other open world game.

I bet your way was much slower and involved a whole lot more waiting for a stamina bar to refill.
Which is sad, because the great plateu is the best part of the overworld. Everything after it is shit.

>This is the entire game.
It really isn't. The game falls apart as soon as you leave the starting plateau. It turnes from
>you can do A, B, C, D, E....YXZ or whatever the fuck you like to reach your goal
to
>you are supposed to do A but you can gimp yourself and also do B to reach your goal

It's a big letdown and also the reason why I suspect many people rating BotW that high did not keep playing for long after getting down from the plateau.

>make game
>it's a masterpiece
>call it Zelda or Mario
>REEEEEEE NINTENBABIESSSS REEEEEE WHYYY???????!1!!!!! REEEEEEEEE NINTENDOOOOO :( :(((((((

I'm laughing, but don't make the mistake, user, I'm laughing at you, not with you.

Except he didn't and that post is literally a fucking copypasta repeated in every BotW thread.
Also
>"classic RPG"
>Zelda
>classic RPG
Literally everything after that statement can be disregarded.

>tfw thoroughly enjoyed it through gettign the master sword and exploring everywhere but the Hebra region
>got slowly bored and ended it well by raiding Hyrule Castle finishing off Ganon and ending the game right there

10/10 game I loved it, fight me

Sorry, I forgot to attach my picture*

Oh my maybe if you keep this up for ANOTHER ELEVEN MONTHS you will rewrite history.
Maybe tonight's the night user.

>Mario
>Zelda
>masterpieces
Lmao, can't make this shit up. The last good Zelda game was link between worlds and the last good Mario game was probably 64.

>ubisoft game format
explain

The best part of the game is that when you start getting bored of the shitty repetitive gameplay, you're free to go straight to ganon and beat the game whenever you want. You even get to fight most of the bosses you would have otherwise missed. It's the best game design decision they made.

Ubisoft invented towers, didn't you know?

>cook the peppers it throws at you saying cold resistance
>climbed the cliff
so deep user so many possibilities
