Do you consider it a good game?

Do you consider it a good game?
Will we ever get another game starring the whole DK Crew?
Old Tiny or New Tiny?

I wanted to say yes, and that I liked it, but really I've never finished it because the collecting just gets to be ridiculous.

I like it, even though the kong switching is mostly pointless and tiresome. You rarely pick Kongs for their unique abilities but because there's a switch or pad with their face on it that only they can activate. But I'm a huge whore for collecting shit so I still like it.

didnt like it even back then, everything in that game always felt clunky

Even if I remember liking to play and walk around for hours and hours until the epic final boss..
It is a bad game.
alot of design flaws.

I guess new Tiny showing up in new stuff could be nice

New

It's okay, but really baffling game design decisions bring it down.

I don't get it. What was the point of giving every kong their own collectables?

Personally I loved It, sank days into it off and on but surprisingly never actually beat it until a few years ago. I'd say new Tiny but I dunno, the gliding would feel like it doesn't make sense if unless she's Dixie size, maybe just toss in Dixie as a sixth kong.

New Tiny but she can shrink into old tiny.

Also I’m sure one day we will, adventure platformers are coming back and DK64 is Nintendo’s Banjo.

I think it would work better if most puzzles can be solved with any long and switching them can be as simple as pressing a button or going in a menu.

Anyone remember the leak that mentioned a game called Donkey Kong Planet? A successor to DK64.

I'd say leave puzzles as is but do the menu thing. Having puzzle solutions be too open is how you end up with Yooka-Laylee.

Low key best n64 collectathon. The length of the game even just collecting to only beat the game is very long. It almost feels like your playing a long mmo or an elder scrolls it's just that long. The levels are all huge and have their own charscter. Coming back to the game is a real treat. So many things you forget about the game. I love that the characters have distinctive functional differences from each other and all get progressing movesets and abilities that actually makes progressing the game like you. Getting stronger. Great music and level

gave up shortly after reaching the desert/pyramid land as it became clear warnings of this clunky chore of a collectathon were not exaggerated.

Kong shines in fast, smooth, weighty side-scrolling

By making them more accessible I ment that any Kong could do a ground pound and it wouldn’t be character specific or stuff like that. They would still have there unique skills, just the standard ones would be the same accept maybe varied by strength and speed, (chunky hits harder and Diddy rolls faster)

We're there really that many? I was under the impression the character specific switches were to stop you from wasting ungodly amounts of time trying to get a banana with a kong that would never actually be able to.

Yeah but it could have been better implemented. Most character specific switches opened a challenge barrel that really an kong could do.

Why does everybody always forget this point?

the minigames and boss fights completely outmatch the collectaphon gameplay

Would Mario Odyssey be improved if each moon required going through a timed obstacle course that leads into a minigame barrel?

It's not like we forgot it, when discussing a sequel it's normal to think of ways to improve the game going forward.
