So when will the Nintendo Switch's bubble burst? I'd say 2019.
So when will the Nintendo Switch's bubble burst? I'd say 2019
Switch Pro 2020 nigga
Depends how the move forward with the console. If they add apps, virtual console and keep up with new games from classic IP, I could see it dominating.
But it won't.
The virtual console will be a disaster, they won't make a new F-Zero, they won't make a new Mario Kart, they won't make a new Smash.
So yeah, early 2019
One of those is not like the other.
Did they fuck up releasin their 2 best games right at the start? I feel like everything will feel mediocre at best after playing those
>owning a switch
lmao what the fuck are you doing
I don't care for the /biz/ aspects but the only game i'm interested in so far is Zelda.
And I can just wait until Cemu version is perfect and superior, my backlog is huge.
Hopefully this but sooner. I want a switch but I won't buy the complete garbage shit they're selling as hardware right now.
PLEASE, PLEASE LET THE SWITCH FAIL! I COULD ONLY AFFORD ONE CONSOLE THIS YEAR AND I HAVE TO KNOW THAT MY CHOICE WAS CORRECT! PLEASE!
t.OP
>they won't make a new Smash.
You're fucking joking, right?
>F-Zero
Every year people beg for this, and every year not existing doesn't put a major dent in anything.
Why would an adult over 18 years old own a Switch if Nintendo just keeps releasing kid’s game for it?
>mario
>animal crossing
>splatoon
>kirby
Looks like all they need is to port Mario teaches Typing and they can already market tjis to kindergarden children.
Zelda BOTW is great but it has a lot of room for improvement, they should release some free DLC for odyssey but they would never do that.
>they can't release another Zelda and another Mario on the Switch now
nigga what the fuck are you doing
Because only juvenile idiots like yourself are obsessed with selfimage to the point of mental illness. Adults don't care. Adults just want to have fun. And Nintendo make the best games in the world. And the switch offers something no other home console does: CONVENIENCE
Cry yourself to sleep.
OP here. I own every major console since the PS1, including the Switch, which is my last purchase.
Finally trying the machine first hand sparked my doubts.
>And Nintendo make the best games in the world.
You can't type this with a straight face knowing Skyward Sword, Starfox Zero, FE fates and many other failures exist
>Skyward Sword
The game is great, I'm sorry you are fat and can't move your arms.
For the amount of good software they manage to put out you can easily look over them.
Oh don't worry, I bypassed the wagglan with dolphin, the game's just utter shit to it's core.
>many other failures exist
Nintendo are the most consistently excellent developer on the planet, who can relied upon to continually produce genre-defining software or games which challenge the publics perception and expectations of what video games can be or games which simply become cultural phenomenons by way of game design.
Do you want me to embarrass you by listing them all?
its*
you do realize they're going to release another 3D mario and Zelda by the end of the switch's life cycle, right?
and keep in mind they still have a 2D mario, pokemon, animal crossing and smash to release, as well as plenty other franchises that aren't as big but are still really good, like kirby, pikmin, etc...
Motion controls are part of the experience user.
Skyward Sword has its problems, but it's still a great game
The Switch's momentum is going to keep snowballing.
Its a new way to play games. It's very accessible. Its easy to port to. Devs are very interested in its capabilities this time round. It has consumers excited.
First party is the main focus still, but its going to be like the Wii, and have a ton of 3rd party on it.
Will it be as big as the PS4? Maybe not, but the PS4 itself is a phenomenon. Its only that big because of Microsofts major fuckup creating a huge void in the market, and if you play online games and everyone you know has a PS4, you're going to get one too.
They're making sequels to Mario and Zelda. Also, those aren't their highest selling games. Their highest selling games are Mario Kart, Pokemon, and New Super Mario Bros. Mario Kart 9 is probably well underway.
>played Super Mario World
>loved the shit out of it
>played Super Mario Sunshine
>loved the shit out of it
>played Super Mario Galaxy
>meh
>didn't even play Super Mario Galaxy 2
>playing Super Mario Odyssey
>loving the shit out of it
I don't know what it was about Galaxy, i thought I was just too jaded at this point to enjoy mario games or platformers but I'm loving Odyssey
Right after the PS4 gets a good exclusive that isn't a Dark Souls rehash, the Vita gets Monster Hunter and the PS2 succeeds thanks to its games and not DVD player.
>it will flop!
>it's a bubble!
What's next for Sup Forums?
I'll bite. Which games were "genre defining" during the GCN and WII era?
Probably some kind of "ots a conspiracy! It's being kept afloat by the devs!" Or something
I prefer to opt out of that experience, thank you.
Galaxy is a much better experience than Odyssey, but it's very short and streamlined, hardly any replay value, when I played Galaxy the first time I finished it in one sitting, couldn't put the control down.
I can imagine the switch will be fine for the next few years. Maybe by 2020 the cracks will start to show. I imagine will probably release a mid-gen upgrade around this time like they've done with *New*3DS and sony have done with PS4pro. This seems to be the norm now.
What bubble user. The switch is already rolling and people knows and owns it. Its not wiiU, which nintendo kept expecting the next title to make it a successful. They just need to keep feeding it games you cant have on the competition and convenient ports of popular games.
>Super Mario Galaxy
I don't get what everyone liked about this game. I didn't even like the gravity gimmick. And I still like the Space levels from Super Mario Land 2 much better then the ones in Galaxy.
It's not. They've had enough time to see that it is a critical success and have probably already adjusted game development schedules to meet demand.
>fun games
more like nintendo’s famous cash cow titles. playstation, xbox one, and pc has games that is just as fun, or even way more fun than beating cute little cartoon monster from pokemon and kirby, the latter only designed for children to play.
>b-but it’s fun to play so it’s okay
by that logic then you think there’s nothing wrong with you manchildren playing lego toys on kid’s playing field at toys r us because you’re enjoying it. grow the fuck up holy shit most of us grew with the gameboy but that doesn’t mean you get to have the mental state of a 5 year old child forever.
>hardly any replay value,
but muh luigi
You sound like an edgy 16-year-old
Switch is selling because of games, so never
Thats the most retarded pile of shit opinions in the thread.
What games do you enjoy my friend?
lol, typical """mature""" gaymer
Metroid Prime
Super Smash Bros Melee
Wii Sports
>lmao he said wii sports!
Yes the biggest selling game of all time, which captured the world's attention and turned millions of people into gamers. Wii Sports did more to break down the public's perception of games in a way nothing else has. The industry is healthier and less of an offputting young male adolescent's passtime because of it.
He doesn't enjoy games.
That's why he is shitposting about Nintendofags having fun on Sup Forums
That was kinda bullshit, nothing changes except you slip and jump higher, oh and you get a "secret" star after getting all the stars.
Whenever I pop
lol ok have fun with your tablet. im sure you’d like some barbie game up with that too
personally I love all the 3d mario games but don't really care for any 2d platformers. If I'm going to play a 2d platformer it's going to be a metroidvania, the others don't really appeal to me. When they announce a new 2d mario game I'm always just like 'oh.'
Not an argument.
>It's being kept afloat by the devs!
This would be so hilarious. So you mean it's selling because they are making games for it? Wow! Big Conspiracy!
We're all loving our 10/10 genre-defining masterpieces bro.
Why people want to become a meme so bad? I like shitpost but i hate when people make fun of themselves
I hope they make a new ones like New Super Luigi U
Because if you ask me NSLU is the best 2nd Mario game by far.
>click 10/10
>it vanish and another image appears
>tfw no metroidvania that's a spinoff of luigi's mansion where you explore a huge haunted castle
no use arguing with manchildren, you’d be stuck with your peter pan syndrome so what’s the use. you’d rather be your immature self and look like a big baby boy with his toy like and people would love to see you play your kiddie console in the school canteen
lmao
>So when will the Nintendo Switch's bubble burst? I'd say 2019.
the xbox being dead is not a meme. and there's room for two consoles. that's it. so in all honestly, as much as I enjoy calling nintendofags disillusioned, the simple fact that the switch is not completely retarded and everyone that has a PS4 wants something new already, means that it will keep selling.
MARIO PARTY WHEN
You sound insecure.
>luigi's mansion where you explore a huge haunted castle
I fucking want this for the 3rd one. Have it be an expanded version of the one from SMO and have an explorable Toad Town for the Multiplayer like in Dark Moon.
Dont made me cry you cunt
whoever looking at that aesthetic console and is not having an autistic hardon is lying
more like you need to fucking wake up
>baby
>hairy
k
You are insecure. lol
CoD, battlefield, PUBG and tons of other games that are actually made for adults
>Did they fuck up releasin their 2 best games right at the start?
No because now they have time to do it all over again.
Better than lack of self-awareness desu senpai
Mario and Zelda aren’t the main reason the Switch is successful
It’s the release schedule and how consistent it is.
We had launch with Zelda in March, Mario Kart in April, Third parties and Indies in May, Arms in June, Splatoon 2 in July, Mario + Rabbids in August, Fire Emblem Warriors in September, Mario Odyssey in October, Third parties and Indies in November, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 in December
And keep in mind this is ignoring other first party, third party and Indies that release in between.
Nintendo announces games for a year during it on short notice.
They are far from done
2018 already has Bayonetta 1+2 in February, Wolfenstein and Kirby in spring, a bunch more things Q2018 and this is ignoring Metroid and Pokemon that won’t be in 2018
XXxdDxD!1
kek you’re just proving my point. you literally look like a typical nintendo manchild, all you only need is a soyboy-tier face
how about you needing to face reality?
>We had launch with Zelda in March, Mario Kart in April, Third parties and Indies in May, Arms in June, Splatoon 2 in July, Mario + Rabbids in August, Fire Emblem Warriors in September, Mario Odyssey in October, Third parties and Indies in November, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 in December
So, 1 good exclusive?
Don't give a shit about a Switch unless Ridley's on the Smash roster and I see how Metroid Prime 4 plays like.
What is the vertical axis?
>You're fucking joking, right?
imagine playing smash on the switch joycons
they'll disintegrate in less than 5 minutes
>video game is actually made for adults
fuck off kid
>The Switch will be DOA!
Becomes instant overnight success
>It just Nintenbros who are buying it, the sales will soon drop off!
Remains out of stock for most of the year as Nintendo struggle to cope with demand and the system becomes one of the biggest sellers on Black Friday despite not even having a discount.
>I-its only big in Japan! Japan is irrelevant!
Become the fastsest selling console of all time in the USA.
>USA is irrelevant! Europe is the only market that matters!
Analysts predicting theres no slowing down of Switch sales
>it will fail in 2018! Nintendo are finished!
The goalposts keep moving.
People actually thought the NES would fail, Nintendo are crazy they said. NINTENDO: DOOMED SINCE 1985
the takes are so hot they could end the world's energy crisis
>Metroid Prime
System Shock did the FPS adventure first
>SSBM
SSB64 already had done it how could you fuck that one up
>Wii sports
Nothing against this but
>and turned millions of people into gamers
Are soccer moms and grandmas gamers now?
Man Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was such a disappointment. Just another run of the mill jrpg.
video games are for people 21 and below. you’re shunned by the society if you think it’s normal to play your gameboy outside your home like a fucking schoolboy
>Splatoon
>Mario Rabbids
>Mario Odyssey
>Xenoblade
>Remains out of stock for most of the year
Stopped reading here. Nice try though.
2022 at earliest
My granny like to play some vidya, we played uncharted, last of us, tropical dong.
She is 67, then we fuck like rabbits
k
>shit, barely a new game
>shit
>1 and only good exclusive
>shit
Get some standards, nintenbro.
As soon people realize switch has no power and will not receive any current generation games
The amount of shitposters
Million. These are US sales.
I want a GPU-powered dock that allows for higher resolutions/framerates when in TV mode.
Slim/Lite is kind of pie in the sky because the Switch is already as small as it can possibly be without having even worse battery life. I also don't really care about portable gaming
Hopefully share holder don't go too crazy comparing it to the wii
The Wii was lightning in a bottle for Nintendo, they managed to sell a disgusting amount of units because they captured the casual audience. IMO that audience is gone from home consoles now that tablets and smart phones are so prevalent.
Personally I love how nintendo got back to making real games and made the gimmicks secondary to that.
.tfw my PC's GPU weighs more than the switch console in the box
>Hopefully share holder don't go too crazy comparing it to the wii
I really doubt anyone at Nintendo actually thinks Switch will be the next Wii. They're just keeping their confidence high, especially in their PR statements, because they need people to believe it's popular. "It's unpopular, I don't want one" is the reason most people didn't get a Wii U
When Sony actually tries to destroy it
Virtual Console? You mean the thing that they've already confirmed is being finished as we speak, and will be out this year? It'll be fine, it's a way to play games people have already played years ago and that's all it needs to be.
Nobody gives a shit about F-zero. It's a shitty series that has never actually sold that well and most people don't even know what it is. 90% of Sup Forums has never played F-Zero and probably only knows what it is because of Smash or Mario Kart 8.
The Switch already has the best Mario Kart in existence.
Smash is absolutely in development just like it has been for every home console since the N64. The fact that we haven't heard of a "Smash 4 Deluxe" yet means they aren't doing what they did with Mario Kart, they're clearly making a new game. It might use a similar engine, but it'll be a new game with stuff not in either existing version of the game.
What does "doing it first" have to do with anything. Super Mario Bros wasn't the first 2D platformer but it sure as fuck became the definitive example of it.
>soccer moms and grandmas gamers now?
Well yeah, I know this is a touchy subject for the hardcore elite but before consoles like the DS and Wii, video games were the impenetrable pass time of young men. They were baffling to older generations. Thats bad news for the industry when the news channels recount the dangers of video games on children and congressional senators have itchy trigger fingers. Nintendo helped to break a lot of those barriers down with games like Brain Training and Wii Sports. The industry is far healthier for it and far more accepted as a legitimate healthy passtime for everyone.
