I love that Feudal Japan settings are starting to take hold in the West

>Ghost of Tsushima
>Nioh
>New Fromsoft
>Yakzua Ishin

Say what you want about the quality of the games but it's sweet seeing big companies but money behind this setting and marketing it to the West.

also post good feudal japan games

weeb

Not exactly feudal but all WotS games are goat tier

i agree
its about time they made more samurai games. i have 600 hours in nioh and i have recently imported yakuza ishin and have always been a huge samurai fan
its the ps2 days all over again

wasn't there once an rpg set in feudal japan along the lines of kingdom come?

Fuck yeah, although Nioh wasn't my cup of tea I'm really looking forward to GoT and the new From game.

i really hope new fromsoft is like tenchu
wrath of heaven was sick

Ghost of Tsushima has been canceled and you will get an official announcement around late March. The game was quietly put down around December of last year after the mixed reception from PGW and Sony not seeing the project reaching the quality standards that the team was hoping for. There are a lot of other reasons like the game being one of the few PS4 exclusive titles that the team could not get a working demo to play on the base level PS4, and delaying the game till 2020 would’ve been a disaster and not worth the effort. It is a suspect that The Last of Us 2 is also another reason for the cancelation, as Sony wanted to release Ghost of Tsushima in 2019 before The Last of Us 2 releases in 2020, as both games are way too similar to release in the same year.

Sucker Punch has been shifted to help with a New IP among other teams for the PS5. Whether or not they will use assets from Ghost of Tsushima is unknown at this point. However, It should be pointed out that Ghost of Tsushima is canceled and the development did NOT shift to the PlayStation 5. Sony does not what any more bad PR from long development titles like Gran Turismo 5 and The Last Guardian, as they are not worth they effort.

>The Hitman(tm) devs will never acquire and reboot the Tenchu series

This makes me cut myself

this shit is getting stale

>Yakzua Ishin
I'm actually playing through this right now on PS4, SEGA is retarded for not bringing it to the west. Hell, if they had localized it in 2014 when it released it probably would have sold well since there was barely anything to play on PS4 at that time.

Nioh is kicking my ass, goddamn.

Shame they didn't have a localization team in 2014.

>Shame they didn't have a localization team in 2014.
Ah, well they should localize it now then. I'm confident that fans of 0 and Kiwami would be interested in playing it. I'm having a lot of fun with it and seeing Majima as a Samuari is funny.

Every day I'm amazed that snowflake babies like you manage to even survive a week without triggering yourselves to death.

Mount and Blade: Warband: GekokujoNewer

I think they should wait. They shouldn't drown the market with Yakuza games, 0 and Kiwami just came out last year, and 6 is coming right up. Kiwami 2 seems like an obvious next choice to capitalize on 0 and Kiwami's popularity. They should wait until they've mostly caught up if they're going to do it.

>I think they should wait.
Ishin has already been out for 4 years though, I'm pretty sure they're not gonna stop making games so the west can catch up. I'd be fine with even just a digital release honestly.

Ishin is the only PS4 game I own out of 35 or so games that actually has a real instruction manual, and it's in full color.

Shogun 2

That Japanese commandos clone last year was pretty fun. Forgot the name already, but I remember enjoying it

When you put it that way it doesn't sound likely at all. I never really had any hopes for Ishin after Kenzan. But 5's wait was already too long and that game pretty much had to be translated for the series to continue. Ishin is much less likely.

There it is. Now that that's out of the way, let's continue with the thread :^)

>that avalanche of arrows when you bring nothing but bowmen

shit tier setting honestly. the only games that do well in it are strategy games. everything else is super hyperbolized weeb trash

k

I have yet to see a weeb game anywhere.

Shadow Tactics?

>When you put it that way it doesn't sound likely at all
>Ishin is much less likely.
Yeah, it sucks but it's why I bit the bullet and got the Japanese version. It sucks because it's actually really cool and I think a lot of people would have appreciated it in the west.

>Feudal Japan
>Tsushima

AHAHAHAHAA

>japan wasn't under feudalism in 1274
brainlets

I just hit way of the wise. Fox spirits were my least favorite enemy and now dogs are fucking everywhere, I hate it.
