Will we get an actual great cyberpunk game this generation? Film buffs were just treated to a proper cinema experience.
The last 2 Deus Ex games honestly weren't that great and not talking about indie shit either.

cyberpunk 2077 obviously. might be early next gen though.
Prey 2 still exists as asset work out there
If you're looking for something that has a budget behind it that could potentially bring out what an atmosphere in cyberpunk feels like, then the only thing on the horizon would be Cyberpunk 2077.
CDRED is the only team making an open world cyberpunk game in the future.
I'll probably be dead before they ever drop this game though. Wasn't it announced like 10 years ago?
>not talking about indie shit either.
only a retarded who thinks 2049 was "OMG KINO" would dismiss recent indie cyberpunk games
Seriously tho, are there any good cyberpunk games out there? Deus Ex Human Revolution really didn't grab me and felt super dated, playing Shadowrun Hong Kong rn and its pretty decent but surely there's gotta be more out there, right?
>rewatch Blade Runner 2049 recently
>get that itch for cyber punk games
>realize that they either don’t exist or are in development hell
WHATS IT LIKE TO HOLD THE HAND OF THE ONE YOU LOVE? INTERLINKED
Announced 3-4 years ago, will probably be out by 2020.
I reckon we'll start hearing a little bit more this year, then they'll go all out in 2019. They're done with Witcher 3 now and are finishing up Gwent so there's not much else all that new staff could've been working on,
I actually am looking forward to The Last Night.
Maybe narratively it can match BR2049.
But if something truly wants to capture it, it needs a big budget behind it.
>Announced 3-4 years ago
It was announced 6 years ago.
>never bothered to play Ruiner
>waah waah buh muh muh cyberpank gaymen doesn't exist!
You people deserve the world of shit you are in.
Ah shit yeah, I was thinking of the trailer which still came out like 5 years ago.
I still think it's coming soon. They announced it when they'd basically just started and they've been busy with The Witcher 3 up until mid-2016, so with all the new jobs and stuff I imagine they've had a massive team working on it for a while.
Ruiner isn't very good. I beat it on Hard and have 0 inclination to replay it. Combat is okay, skill system is good, visuals are pretty good, but the game really drops the ball in terms of content. There just isn't anything memorable outside that encounter with the ninjas.
Get on your knees and suck my cock.
Great the Ruiner fan is some kind of furry ERPer.
I think Cyberpunk's gonna be the next big genre, like superhero movies, westerns, open world games, DayZ/Battle Royale clones etc.
Been seeing a lot more media tackling it recently and if that stuff is received well even more people will head towards the genre. Most recently we've had Blade Runner 2049, Ghost in the Shell, The Expanse and Altered Carbon could be very big this year too.
Any decent cyberpunk game with digital waifus out there?
If star citizen ever comes out maybe.
DXHR/MD had eliza, I guess
Needed more content like the ending where its nonstop action and the hub needed something to do other than hack stupid fucking cats for a garbage weapon in a level
>and not talking about indie shit either.
your loss
I'm waiting for cyberpunk 2077 but haven't heard enough about it to be hyped
>trannybabylon
>good
It's traditional cyberpunk blended together with fantasy, but Shadowrun Returns: Dragonfall is a really fun RPG with great atmosphere.
Nobody thought of this then?
>this generation
Fuck, my bad
>the far off future of 2019
I wish 2019 would be that cool
I remember them also saying they don't want to show much before the game actually comes out, so people won't get upset like they did with the witcher downgrade.
It's a shitty top down shooter, why would I even bother with it?
Cyberpunk 2077 will come out sometime. It`s made by CD Projekt Red, the developers of The Witcher:
Game was great and the tranny shit didn't feel forced
You play as a conservative guy in a very progressive world as well, it's one of the biggest themes of the game
Ruiner is basically a cyberpunk Hotline Miami but with actual health and bosses and abilities and stuff.
I just spoke to my phone reminding me to watch Altered Carbon in februrary.
>feels good to live in the cyberpunk age
It will never be finished and when it is it will be shit.
people just don't understand that the only difference between cyberpunk and our world is that neon is out of fashion and it's not always night time
Want to replay deus ex, do I play with new vision or GMDX 9.0? Which one is better? Assume the thing I care about the most are aesthetics.
not everyone live in the middle of tokyo or new york
>another fucking remake
>good
I used to think video games were low culture compared to film, then I saw what hollywood has been shitting out for the past ten years
Sorry I meant to say revision, not new vision, I know new vision is bundled in both mods.
>I think Cyberpunk's gonna be the next big genre
cyberpunk was the big genre, in the 90s, in japan
BR2049 is the best and, for a very long time, the last cyberpunk movie ever made. It barely managed to make his production money back, not counting marketing, BR2049 was a flop but will probably be a hit on blue ray.
>I reckon we'll start hearing a little bit more this year, then they'll go all out in 2019
They are following Fallout 4s method, not showing anything til a few months from release.
>BR2049
>remake
Its BASICALLY a remake.
Human Revolution is the Blade Runner 2049 of the Deus Ex series.
Streamlined and not as good as the original
GMDX 100%. Revision basically changes things for no reason while GMDX just improves every aspect of the game.
Although a bit simplistic, Neon Struct is a decent cyberpunk stealth game
Is there a good 3rd person cyberpunk stealth game out there, by the way?
the same applies to cyberpunk, it just happens that all the stories are set in places like them
RUINER
How is 2049 more streamlined?
No, it fucking isn't.
How? It's very different from the original in terms of... just about everything.
>le remake
die
I love that projector helmet so much.
Even though the game isn't really that popular, I feel that design element is iconic as fuck.
Check out Dex, it’s s 2d indie cyberpunk game but the story is great and it’s got like 20 hours of gameplay and it’s cheap, think I payed 12 bucks in Microsoft store.
That movie sucked ass. Moslty people talking and it didn't have enough cool future shit to show.
sup dummy
>Moslty people talking
how to spot a pleb
why the fuck there are bluray quality streams for this but can't find a single torrent of good quality?
Fuck you, 2049 was top tier kino
A perfect sequel to the original
>We're already living in the dystopian cyberpunk future
>post obvious bait
>still get (You)s
...
>I was just pretending to be retarded
Looking forward to the art in this one desu
>we already live in cyberpunk world
>but with only the shitty stuff like corporate control of everything and constant surveillance
>none of the cool stuff like holograms, AI waifus, or neo-noir aesthetics
It's more "fast paced" and it has scenes that literally spell out the mystery for you. It's basically for brainlets who call the original boring.
Grand Theft Auto: Los Santos 2049 WHEN?
Why would corporations give Ai waifus to slaves after all
The original didn't even have a mystery. Especially the original theatrical release with the voice over.
Bread and circuses like in the movie
Compare the city atmosphere in this to the one in the ghost in the shell reboot.
We don't talk about the theatrical release
inb4 he tries to save face with
>but the unicorn
I never saw the GitS reboot, how bad was it?
Well we're talking about the theatrical release of 2049, so why not?
>tfw you realize Joi never loved him
>she was literally purchased for the purpose of pretending she did
>programmed to react to buying things like the emanator positively to encourage additional consumption of goods
>even her "I love y-" before dying was just the programming leaving a good impression of the product
Blade Runner is a cutting critique of capitalism
fuckin' terrible. don't bother.
>3 hours
>fast paced
lolwut
Only brainlets think this.
Except 2049 barely has any action and is way more "boring" than the original
Only lonely wishful thinking virgins think otherwise
you'll drop it out of disgust if you liked the original. No effort no respect for the source material. Hollywood typical trash
She was meant to play into the theme of 'going beyond your programming', this fits in nicely with Joe going beyond his programming by sacrificing himself to connect Ford with his daughter.
Do you long having your heart interlinked ? Interlinked.
Harrison Ford is in it.
Replicants are in it.
Police force are in it.
Flying cars are in it.
Evil corps are in it.
Its a remake.
>calling him Joe
Did you miss the part where the giant Joi billboard called him Joe, confirming that the name is a programmed mode of address for a Joi's owner?
>sequels are remakes because they have similar settings
The original isn't about the mystery. It's about the atmosphere, themes and characters. It's a fairly simple plot that's executed quite well. 2049 tries to act smarter by trying to be more complex with more plot threads, but still treats the audience like its retarded.
Nice try, retard. You're the exact audience that the movie was meant for when they repeated Batista's line two additional times even though we already got it.
Your dumb.
gosling was born for this role, I can't imagine anyone else playing.
Don't you know it's made by the Witcher devs? It's guaranteed to be shit.
>tfw to intelligent for 2049
Really stunning performance
Reminded me of Jake Gyllenhaal in Nightcrawler, which was also fucking excellent
Blade Runner 2049 adventure game when
He is the realest human bean
It's really bad. No redeeming aspects, everything about it is subpar. And Scarlett Johansson has this really distracting way of walking through the entire movie which I guess was supposed to be a cyborg walk but it just looked like she was doing a really poor "walk like a man" comedy walk. I'm baffled as to why the director would let her do that. She looks really stupid.
great fucking game.
I come back to this movie at least once a year. What a fucking performance.
>he lost like 25 pounds for the role to give himself a creepy, gaunt look
