Zanarkand was anally annihilated by Machina. Sin was a followup of this but not because of Machina, not sure how this belief started. It was not Yu-Yevon (the one creating Sin) himself who spread that I think because Yu-Yevon was a mere potato that only existed to summon. I guess it was just that world changing event folloed up by the appearance of this monster whale that made people assume they pissed off god himself by using these super powerful machines.

I hated all the walking, to me it was just as annoying as the lightning (when you do it with the crater trick)

No kidding. I just put it on 4x time and no enemy encounters since hd remaster allows it. I 100% the game last year on ps2 including the dark aeons without yojimbo spam so I don't mind cheating a little here and there

Sin exists to protect Zanarkand, therefore it destroys any civilization that gets to a certain technologically advanced state except Bevelle because Bevelle already nuked the shit out of Zanarkand and can do it again

Sin was created in the war fought by Bevelle and Zanarkand 1000 years ago by some hobo in zanarkand and made him destroy all machina because bevelles machina was superior german steel but sin backfired and kills everything

Re FF10 story
Yu Yevon sacrificed the entire population of Zanarkand to summon Dream Zanarkand and Sin. Sin is the protector of Dream Zanarkand, not real Zanarkand.

Dream Zanarkand is just thousands of miles off the shore of anything else. There's no time warp or anything.

There was a reason Sin didn't attack Bevelle, but I don't remember exactly. People have said it's because of the Hymn of the Faith, and how it made Yu Yevon/Sin more docile. People have also said that it's because people worship Yevon, and Bevelle became a 'holy place' so to speak. Others have speculated it's just because of how well fortified and defended Bevelle was - X-2 showed off Vegnagun, so it can be assumed Bevelle is a strong place.

Fug I forgot about that option. All I did so far was auto-attack for monster catching. Not too much of a cheat, it's like the rubber band trick without rubber band.

It is just because Bevelle won the war and Yu Yevon realized that even if they sacrificed everyone to get this amazing Aeon it wouldn't be enough to win.

P. sure as Zanarkand was getting rekt anyway, the people decided to become fayth and let Zanarkand live on in a dream at least. Not just Yu-Yevon.

Well, there's the public version and the Bevelle temple version. Bevelle tells people it's because machina is evil etc., and that they have to repent and maybe Sin will go away. The maesters etc. knew the truth that Sin was Yu Yevon and a Final Aeon's body.

Yes, it's quite good in terms of what FF has presented over the years.
If you like FF7+8, 10 is perfectly fine.

I never really played any FF game besides 13. Since that's considered a low point in the series as far as I know, guess there's nothing wrong with getting X.

Yeah, 13 was pretty garbage. 10 is like 13, but the story isn't complete shit, and you actually control all of your characters instead of 1. And you have a progression system that allows you to do a lot more with your characters.

Sounds good. That's pretty much all the problems I had with 13. I'll see if I can get it on the cheap somewhere.
