PS Vita

Just bought this. What are the best games to get for it and what am I in for?

Persona 4 Golden.
Persona 4 Dancing All Night.

Get P3P while you're at it and wait for the release of Persona 3 Dancing Moonlight. Don't waste your time with the pile of shit known as Persona 5.

>Don't waste your time with the pile of shit known as Persona 5.
you mean the good Persona game? the one that actually comes close to the fluidity of SMT combat?

Congratulation youjust bought an impracticable paperweight!

Now go out and buy a switch.

Why does your Switch look so fucked up man

you're in for a return shortly

I already own one. I played all the worthwhile games on it so far, so I got this to hold me out until something good comes out in 2018. (Not counting Yoshi and Kirby because I have no interest in those.)

Luftrausers and papers please work well on the vita

I hope you got a < 3.60 vita

H E N K A K U

Going off of what I've played:
Persona 4 Golden
Persona 4 Dancing All Night
Odin Sphere Leifthrasir
Muramasa Rebirth
Dragon's Crown
Disgaea 3 and 4
PSX/PSP games like P3P, FFVII-IX, Chrono Trigger, etc

People often recommend Soul Sacrifice Delta and Freedom Wars as well but I haven't played either and can't vouch for them.

Would you recommend Gravity Rush?

I found it pretty boring personally.

It's alright for what it is but I couldn't get into it, if you like cute brown girls that probably helps

dancing all night is shit
The rest are port/multiplat or fucking litteraly not even vita games, ouch.

get soul sacrifice delta 100%

>recommends P4
>discredits P5
salty vitafag detected

Adding to this list I would say Soul Sacrifice Delta and Freedom Wars if you're into fun MonHun clones

Even if not, the story in SSD is incredible

I absolutely love GR on the Vita and it has the best use of all the motion/touchscreen controls the Vita provides, but I gotta admit, the PS4 remaster is better overall

Kat's games still deserve love

They absolutely do

Must Have:
Soul Sacrifice Delta
Super Stardust Delta
Lumines
Gravity Rush
UMVC3
Hot Shots Golf

Optional:
Shovel Knight
Wipeout 2048
Muramasa
Dragon's Crown
Terraria
Dragon Quest Builders
P4G
MGS collection
DoA 5
Toukiden
Ninja Gaiden

best vita game that isn't a port/remake?

>I absolutely love GR on the Vita and it has the best use of all the motion/touchscreen controls the Vita provides
Naw, that goes the Tearaway.

OP, games I enjoyed would be:
TxK
Soul Sacrifice Delta
Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable
Lumines: Electronic Symphony
Muramasa Rebirth
WipEout 2048
Atelier Meruru Plus
Romancing SaGa 2
Tearaway
Darkest Dungeon

Soul Sacrifice Delta

First game was the main reason I bought the console

>P4G
>Vanillaware games
>WipEout
>Optional
this is bait

>Naw, that goes the Tearaway.
Oh yeah definitely, though I guess I was thinking more one of the earlier ones.

I need to try the PS4 Tearaway, see if they've changed anything, though not having a camera kind of ruins the whole YOU thing I feel

P4G was 100% gay
Vanillaware games are on other systems but, moreover, the games are shallow and have no content. They're 99% backtracking.
Wipeout runs at 30fps and the console versions were better.

Deal with it.

wipeout is very optional yes

I'm sure everyone's scrambling for the Wii version of Muramasa with less content

Wasn't there a PS4 version that came out with all the Veeter DLC added or am I going crazy?

You'd think, but no

no its Wii/Vita only and the Vita version is the one with all the content

Dragon's Crown is getting a PS4 version but that doesn't invalidate that you can get the Vita version for like $10 and its still great

>you can get the Vita version for like $10 and its still great
15fps is not great

>Good ports of old games.
>Gravity Rush
>Decent FPS games for on the go except BL2 which was shit house on the Vita
>All the good MGS games ported to this console that hold up really well
>Weeb games galore

Enjizzle your stizzle

I wonder if the vita/PS3 versions will see updates to allow cross-play between all versions of the game. I'd like to be able to play it on my Vita with all the new PS4 players on release.

Gravity Rush
Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus and Estival Versus and Bon Appetit
Muramasa ReBirth
Odin Sphere Leifthrasir
Dragon's Crown
Ys Memories of Celceta, VIII, and Seven(Seven is on the PSN Store)
Soul Sacrifice Delta
Freedom Wars
Demon Gaze 1 and 2
Valkyrie Drive
Mary Skelter Nightmare
MeiQ Labrynth of Death
Killzone Mercenary
Uncharted Golden Abyss
Ragnarok Odyssey Ace
Deception IV TNP
Moe Chronicle(And other Genkai Tokki games such as Moe Crystal, Seven Pirates, etc.)
Phantasy Star Nova
Neptunia series
Persona 4 Golden
Project Diva F1, F2, and X
Madoka Magica The Battle Pentagram
Bullet Girls series
Tales of Hearts R and Innocence R
Super Stardust Delta
TxK
Sorcery Saga
La Mulana EX
Oddworld Stranger's Wrath
One Piece games(Unlimited World Red, Pirate Warriors 3, and Burning Blood)
Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus and Sigma 2 Plus
Ray Gigant
Shovel Knight
XCOM Enemy Unknown Plus
Ar NoSurge Plus
Firefly Diary
Geometry Wars 3

I literally only use it for Miku, with the ocassional Persona and Vanillaware game. But damn if portable Project Diva didn't justify the purchase for me.

Miku is a miracle

I loved the cross play with PS3 on my Vita

During the clicking/cooking parts you could see some super slow hand-cursors moving along, and then the Vita touchscreen ones just zipping around

>when your hate for a system is so huge that you start to dream about superior versions that doesnt exist

Thanks I really appreciate the list user.

It's acceptable for f/f2nd but once you hit the PS4 releases with 60fps using the Vita stuck at 30 will make you want to sudoku.

Can't believe I forgot about these but those Rayman games on the Vita were excellent. Better than the console versions even.

It's better on switch.

...

>not remote playing Future Tone

>Innocence R

Isn't that japan only? I don't think an english fan translation exists for the Vita version, only the DS release.

Dude no, wtf.

>the super intense touchscreen guiding levels
I never thought using a touchscreen in a cartoony fun game can get so hard

Japan only. Still good game though.

While I haven't held a Switch, judging by Nintendo's past record on D-pads I can say that the Vita's D-pad is better which can give an improved experience.

>no d-pad
>one touch screen
>touch screen is shitty nintendo garbage

yeah nah.

Tearaway and Gravity Rush are two of the best games that make use of the Vita. In my mind they are akin to the DS and The World Ends with You. You'll be pleasantly surprised, even if you don't normally play those types of games.

Persona 4 Golden is also a good idea, as well as the Arland Atelier games if you like those types of games.

You just don't know Rayman then. The original PS1 games were damn near impossible.

I don't speak gook wtf is all this?

Oh yeah I know the platforming itself, but I just didn't expect to be a touchscreen master suddenly

It does feel a bit bizarre, but I adjust quickly. It does help that I play FT with an arcade controller so muscle memory doesn't bite me in the ass anymore.

It's a great console for rhythm games, I recommend the Project Diva series and Taiko V Version (import)
If you have a firmware below 3.60 look up henkaku and hack it, currently you can pirate every game region free that doesn't requiere >3.60 and install emulators to play PSP, PSX and a lot of retro consoles

The Remote Play Grip by Hori is great

Is Chrono Cross playable on Vita?

yes

I dont see the point in hacking my Vita if I cant safely use my PSN, cant Remote Play, and wouldn't be able to play Catherine or the new Persona spinoffs.

All I own is Atlus games anyway and I want to support them whenever possible.

Thanks bro, can I play YOU on vita as a reward? ;)

Thanks, I saw it on sale with Vita attached to it's playable systems, but the game isn't in the Vita store so I wasn't sure.
Should I buy it or Legend of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Grandia, Wild Arms, Breath of Fire 4, or Legend of Dragoon?

Certain PSX/PSP games like Peace Walker require you to download them on PS3 then transfer them to the Vita for some reason

There hasn't been any banwave since the release of the exploit and you can use PSN and Remote Play now but you're right about not being able to play recent games.
I hacked it for convenience, being able to emulate, backup my saves, enhance the performance of some games, switch accounts and using my purchased DLC from JP account on my NA account it's just too perfect but yea, if I didn't have a PS4 I probably would have updated to play the new persona spinoffs

Id hack mine if the scene wasnt completely abandoned and actually bothered getting the latest firmware to work, even the Wii U could still be hacked very easily on its last firmware

>games also on PS4/PS3 dont count as Vita games
>games also on Vita/PS3 dont count as PS4 games

>mulitplats count as games

Terraway.

Freedom War 2 never ever

>Sony exclusives don't count as games

BotW doesn't count either

Some of the games I enjoyed on my Vita.
Gravity Rush
World of Final Fantasy
Trails of Cold Steel (undub)
Dungeon Travelers 2 (uncensored)
Odin Sphere Leifthrasir
Muramasa Rebirth
Atelier Rorona
Atelier Totori

Currently playing Sayonara Umihara Kawase and Demon Gaze. The physics of Umihara Kawase takes time to get used to, but it's a fun game. I really struggled with a few stages. Not sure if that's because of a huge difficulty spike in those stages or if there was an easier way to finish them.
Demon Gaze is okay, but it's definitely not as good as Dungeon Travelers 2. Main issue is that it's too easy, at least with my current party build.

>Persona 4 Dancing All Night.
What is this game? Is it like persona or what?

if you have a ps4 use that remote play if not get the 2 sony games and then the rest is weeb

I thought Atelier games were garbage. they seem way too expensive and are digital-only with filesizes that are way too big

I have a hacked Vita with an sd2vita adapter so price and file size isn't really an issue for me. I really like the time management part of the games and planning my actions. It feels nice to try and be as efficient as possible. Combat is somewhat lackluster in the games, but I like that a decent part of it is centered around item usage and not just spamming the attack command.

Games that are not on ONE AND ONLY ONE system are not worth shit and people should not be allowed to play them.
