In almost all ways.
>S
The only failure is you not buying it. Fortunately that's easily fixable.
Is Vault girl the only good thing to come out of shadman?
>Take one of the most dialog and choice and consequence series of all time
>Fully transition it into a mediocre shooter with a single red/green/blue choice for endings, minimal consequences, and no dialog choices.
>Give it to me straight, Sup Forums.
>Where did Fallout 4 fail?
Imagine a pic of Todd Howard with a thought bubble: "I'm gonna make Fallout 4"
Turning into a generic open world FPS instead of a first person RPG.
No.
I like his punk/goth girl stuff, some of his loli, some of his Sparrow inspired art.
>dialogue choices limited to 4 options
>removal of skills
>every quest is go here and kill x
>shit story
>weapon crafting in favor of unique weapons
I think the gameplay improved, but that's the only positive I can think of.
Thanks. You saved me from a bad fap.
No waifus. Everyone literally has the same face. Being difficult to mod certainly doesn't help.
>Where did Fallout 4 fail?
Preston.

almost in every aspect
No roleplaying, voiced protag adding onto the fact that theres no roleplaying. Four dialogue choices at a time, every one of them is yes. Bad story/writing, radiant quests out the ass. Its basically Fallout: Skyrim, but everyone hates it for some reason.
The character design is by Shadman but the artwork is done by Gashi-Gashi
Add "lack of internal consistency" to the ever growing pile
By being commercial.
It was a great game but the edgelords hated it.
Nice to see a well drawn fallout girl instead of shad's bullshit
I knew it looked too good to be Shadman.
>take a noname b-trash game
>make a billion dollar franchaise
>removal of skills
nice meme
Putting so much emphasis on Settlements and looting and then making everything they do nearly inconsequential beyond five minutes of effort.
vault meat gets my dick fucking hard
needed more shadman
It's one of those games that doesn't know what it wants to be.
to much sandbox
not enough roleplaying or memorable quests
lackluster weapon variety
no choice
>Yes
>Yes
>Yes
>No
The only real choice is to go on a killing spree.
>Have kept Fallout 4 installed in hopes for decent sex mods
>Year later and they've hardly got basic animations working
It's more of an FPS than a tactical RPG.
It also falls for the Skyrim "one dungeon is all dungeons" thing.
It would really be a lot more amazing as a survival/scavenging kind of game, where building your base actually matters instead of being Minecraft-autist bait.
weapons, RNGendary weapon upgrades, skills, companions, plot
its easier to count what it did right (and even when it did right it fucked up in some way
>power armor
Amazing to look at and to use but you get it right away, so there is no sense of progression as fusion core (which are lore breaking) are abundant
>weapon customization and crafting
Nice sense of progression, visually it's nice to see your weapons getting more and more detailed, except that a lot of weapons are fucking ugly or copypasted (like the combat rifle and combat shotgun, they have the same appearance); there aren't a lot of weapons in the end, the 10mm smg is now just an automatic pistol mod and melee and unarmed is fucking shit.
>ennemies
One of the best thing in the game, they are more responsive, better animated and the variety in robots and animals is a nice touch
>character creation
The character editor is one of the best Bethesda as made so far, sculpting the face is a better alternative to sliders
The shooting is a much better but everything else is either mediocre or complete shit
the dialog system. It's not a joke it's literally this
>useless information/sometimes opens up charisma checks that give you nothing but caps
>yes (sarcastic)
>No(yes but you get to be a dick about it)
>Maybe(yes but not right now)
it knows exactly what it wants to be
I hate newspapers
i think bethesda just tried to showcase too much shit that was being worked on for tes vi, and in general the setting/plot/characters were boring for a bethesda game
Story and generally being a Bethesda game
I'm not arguing, i actually like the game a lot. but weapon customization is not a strong point. if you play it for more than an hour all the upgrades boil down to
>damage bonus
>less recoil
>scope
>bigger clip or faster reload
It's as wide as an ocean but deep as a puddle. Energy weapons get some cool stuff but it's still just
>turn into sniper
>shotgun
>rifle with more damage
is the modding as good as skyrim yet
as in lewds
>commoners enjoy it so is good !
Story was meh. The factions and story had some plot holes that could make them preaching to you about their goals really grinding. Like New Vegas, the Wastelands problems are all over the place, there no monolithic evil you want to take down like in 1-3. You kinda just feel like a schmuck passing through and arbitrarily being given importance because you happen to be there. I don't mind back story in a Fallout game as long as you still get to develop your general attitude, but Fallout 4 did that really poorly. You're supposed to care about your Son and Wife you've only interacted with in the first few minutes of the game.
Focus on settlement building was pointless. I don't play Fallout games to be mayor of the Wasteland, Even my most charismatic PCs barely want more people around then their marry band of idiots. In which case companions were pretty good, plenty of variation. Should have just had your character repairing the Vault instead of making a shit tier shanty town.
Combat was great for a Fallout game, weapon designs were okay besides some fuck ups with little details that might irk those familiar with the realistic guns.
Really I think Bethesda just needs a new writing team that doesn't have their head up their ass and programmers able to implement their needs.
no, fallout 4 and skyrim special edition dont have much for lewd modding
>for a bethesda game
>fallout
>bethesda
Fuck off todd.
user, are you honestly saying FO1/2 were good as games were judged, even in their time?
Because they weren't. They had some good ideas, but they had plenty of flaws.
>yes (yes)
>no (yes)
>ironic (yes)
i would say here
Fallout 4 did a good job in creating an environment and encouraging scavenging / NPC to NPC conflict.
Outside of this the game was relatively shit. The writing and voice acting seemed extremely wooden and there wasn't much choice or role playing in any capacity.
Recently started playing Skyrim again and I've come to the conclusion that Bethesda does not understand how to write / deal with Fallout like they do the Elder Scrolls games.
F4SE has just been released. Give it another year or two, same time for Skyrim.
on all platforms
Shadman is genuinely improving as an artist, some of his recent work doesn't actually disgust me. It's commendable.
voiced protagonist
So, at second 1.
American overly smug and ironic/sarcastic writing.
How about his content? Is it still the same edgy shit?
You really don't have any fucking idea what your talking about kid
mechanically yeah its not really advanced, its a nice step up from NV though.
I mainly have a boner for visual ehancement of the weapons
obsessed
Nice ideas but horribly unfinished and unpolished
>Gashi-Gashi
Such a talent artist
OBESE
At its RPG parts
>nice ideas
>voiced protag
>wheel dialog
>more daddy issues
That's pretty much Bethesda's motto.
Fallout 2 is great, you either have not played it or are too much of a brainlet to get past the tutorial area.
You mean
>Yes
>Question(yes)
>Sarcastic(yes)
>No(yes)
No that's the unfinished and unpolished part asshole
I was talking about the actual shooting mechanics and base building aspects which both seem to be top notch
But whatever its trendy to shit on this game I guess
In all it's aspects, was much worse than FO3, which actually was tolerable/mediocre if you never played a Fallout game before. Also it spammed the shitty todd posting meme.
>I can't objectively judge things I like based on established merits of the genre
You are like Nintendo fans.
Ok what's objectively wrong with it
>inb4 opinions
Ironic coming from a man children.
Unlike you I was actually alive when fallout 2 came out
>base building aspects
Base building was a mistake though. Your settlement is just a radiant quest machine for you to constantly return to. The mechanics to it are passable but the actual sense of progressions and reward for making your base are very week.
I would have preferred if they just made renovating the Vault into a clubhouse where all your companions can hang out
Alright listen up.
I don't like Shad's forced goth dick piercings like any other rational being does, but he really struck gold with this super simplistic design. Vault Girl is a treasure. I just wish that fucking edgy faggot did more of her, again, simplistically and without any of his Shad-layers.
>Less emphasis on story and a larger emphasis on combat.
>Dialogue options simplified down to essentially 2 choices.
>Predetermined story
>Synths
Combat and "looting" is something that is inconsequential in a game with such an open structure. You are unironically better off playing Borderlands for that kind of experience minus base building and crafting but I don't give a fuck about those features. People like Fallout because of the setting and the writing. Synths are cool in cyber punk and other scifi but don't really fit in the wild west post apocalyptic landscape of fallout. They felt shoehorned in because someone thought they were cool. Obviously the dialogue options being shaved down is stupid too. Matching the amount of buttons a controller has doesn't work as an excuse, it's just lazy writing where they didn't want to think too much. Finally, the story is fucking terrible because it's so limiting. I cannot make a character who is a deadbeat dad who gives no fucks about his family because the story doesn't allow. It's the same issue Red Dead Redemption had but that at least had a compelling protagonist whereas FO4 pretends you are a player character and not the character they came up with. The vault dweller, chosen one, and courier all had incentive to leave their current situation that could be expected to be taken by any person in that situation but that was only enough to get you out there door and not a constant juxtaposed plot-line with whatever inane shit I was doing at the time.
Like I said just horribly unfinished and unpolished
Neet ideas though
I mean its a wide variety but that's why its commendable. To be fair edgy shit has been his shtick and is what made him popular so I can understand why he would focus on that.
Okay so I just went to his website and I take that back his art is so fucking disgusting, its just the fact that he can make art that ISN'T disgusting that's respectable.
he wasnt really a BAD artist, its just all he does was disgusting shit
...
Lack of role play options. That's really the only bad thing about it for me.
Very appealing
>fallout girl
Okay I'm mad
I've been watching some of his streams and he seems to acknowledge that. He's been simplifying things and that looks so much better.
fuck your autistic grenade button, ghouls stunning you while in power armor , and intros that cant be skipped.
...
And yet it's his crazy fetishes that make the Pip girl sprites the hottest. That little collection of her in various sexual situations is hot as fuck
>Tfw Cherchez le Femme
>Where did Fallout 4 fail?
1. Sub categorizing armors and weapons. Left piece, right piece all that shit. Horrible.
2.Having to build settlements and look after towns? Yet majority of the already towns are totally fucked anyway and really small in size.
3.Super Mutant suicide bombers. Why?
4.Fallout 4 story was basically Fallout 3 story but with a twist. You are the dad and have a child. While Fallout 3 was you were the child and looking for Dad.
5.Pointless amount of customization from gun attachments. To trees on settlements.
6.World interactions was either with Npcs trying to talk to you while something is trying to kill them. Or something has killed them and is coming to kill you.
7. It was either empty areas with random gouls or tight squeeze areas with shit tons of enemy npcs.
8. Didn't get why I had to have a dog. At least the dog can be dismissed.
9. Perk choice system was fucking awful.
10. Power Armour was good but fucking limiting for use. And when finding random power amours. Getting them back to home base is a bitch of a move.
11. barely anywhere to actually rest. You die more times getting from a simple A to B.
12. Voice acted choices sound like EA sorcery to me.
13. Supplies were non existent and traders were rip offs.
14. Majority of the levels are a basic start from the ground and get to the roof.
I will come up with more but these things are why I dropped it. Barely a week playing it.
Here ya go.
how does todd get away with selling fallout 4 VR when it's literally unplayable the controls don't even work you can't see menus and you can't turn
Shit UI, graphics and interface even for it's time.
Exploitable as hell (I doubt the devs intended for small arms to be more powerful and useful than laser/plasma weapons).
Game breaking bugs/"options" that would render the game unable to continue outside loading a save or starting a new game (do you wonder why games these days do not allow you to permanently kill important npcs?).
Here is a nod to Sup Forums: dated pop references, so maligned in games made nowadays, that are considered "charming" or ignored as a fault.
Good taste user
I'm more of a Servant man myself but you're licking off the golden leaf
fuck nugget
It just works
>Shadman is a pajeet
I actually didnt expect that
why does he have fetish for women/lolis in SS uniforms?
>Thought Bubble
You only had one job
todd stop it doesnt it literally doesnt work todd please please stop
I had a lot of fun exploring in Fallout 4, more then F3 or FNV, used console to explore locked areas so I wouldn't have to play through the awful story. Combat was better too, but needed more unique weapons instead of the Borderlands monstrosities. Power armors were good too.
Big mistakes:
- Gutting dialogue options and simplifying the previous stats system
- Gutting most RPG elements and forcing players through the awful mainline story
>it literally doesnt work
What the fuck did you just say?
IT
DOES
NT
WORK
TODD
I really don't know how I'm going to explain my intense fetish for sexually aggressive women molesting younger inexperienced girls to my future wife.
Like VR works anyways
Its just a meme
hard part about an overused setting is letting it go
let Fallout go
