They're all pretty great but part five is the only one I played but didn't finish. It's not bad it just doesn't feel very focused.

5 is really fucking bad. Shinada sucks, Saejima sucks and his story is literally his story from 4, Akiyama while cool feels like his story is forced, Haruka didn't live up to potential, Kiryu's was okay. The grindan is hueg, bosses are rehashed big time (I guess thats where 0 got it from), and half the cities suck especially because they're character-locked.

For all of you retards asking every thread: Start with Yakuza 1 and play in release order. You can emulate Yakuza 1 and 2. Yes, you need a PS3 to play 3,4,5.

5 is the only one ill probably end up skipping. Bit i really limed Akiyamas story from 4. Do they give him a good send off? What happens with him? As far as i know he isnt in 6.

His story was shared with Haruka's and I'd say Haruka got the better half of the development in that regard. Things pretty reset back to normal for him as far as I recall.

What in the world are you talking about? He's shoved into the main story so everyone can get together, sure, but his story overall was great. It has a good start and an end, has great characters during the entirety of it, it has a good twist, and he has some fun trainers. The only downside is his fighting style.

Saejima also ended up being way more likable in 5 than 4. He's much friendlier while still retaining his "No bullshit" personality. Yeah, they rehash the prison again but the hunting village is fun and overall throughout the game he's fine.

To appreciate 0 to the fullest I would at least play some Yakuza games first.
