It's ok

It's shit

Honestly one of the best JRPGS I have ever played.

Can you people fucking please

9/10
Great game, great story, great music, dungeons could use a little tweaking

easily one of the best jrpgs in the last decade, suffers from having little replay value though, and being 100+hours.

I dress up as Makoto and go on chatroulette and lift up my skirt.

The dungeons where really tedious, not even hard, just tedious.
The music was great, and I enjoyed the battle system.
I'm glad they released a jp sub.

what's with the influx of p5 threads?

The state of Sup Forums right now.

peegee in damage control

the dungeons were fun, leaps and bounds ahead of TEEVEEWHURLD and TARDTARDUS

>Battle song is great
>Now listen to it a thousand times

I don't get it

why do people hate the cat

A great game, while not better than it's predecessors it is a worthy sequel

I'm having a hard time getting into it. 4 grabbed me, but this one seems more shallow and the stakes are lower. It's easier to fall into your feels when it's a group of friends trying to save the world while growing up vs a random group of high schoolers trying to expose corruption.

I’d rather play p4

Disappointment compared to previous entries. 5/10 honestly speaking, not worth the anticipation, years of delays, and so on.

solid but there wasn't a lot I haven't already seen in the previous games
a lot like ds3 actually

It's good, it's just too fucking long. I liked P4 the most.

at least it has style in it's presentation. I dropped it out of boredom.

I agree but the premise of 4 and 5 are the same at the end, the initial premise of 4 is to catch a serial killer. I think the more intimate nature of Inaba and having two of deaths be characters we actually met made it more easy to catch feels, we've seen failure. It's part of the reason Kamoshida was done so well, we knew Shiho and failed to help her. After that every person afflicted by the villain bounces back by joining the party. They also pulled a cop-out at the end by having everything being connected to shido through some arbitrary shit instead of hinting at it the whole game when you go back through 4 it's almost sinister how adachi drops you hints and tries to lead you off track

I just recently got this game, so far I beat Kamoshida on hard difficulty. Is distracting him supposed to be the ideal method? Because I tried it twice and it failed on both occasions so I just decided to hit him until he dies or whatever

I just started the game and fucking love it. I can't put it down. Are the others like it?

I wanna know they act like he killed someone. All he did was push or smack a dude.

>I wanna know they act like he killed someone. All he did was push or smack a dude.
Well this isn't America where people cheer when you shoot someone.

It sucked. The story and characters are terrible, and the gameplay is just 4 again, and 4's gameplay wasn't that good to begin with.

Mega Man Battle Network 3

>people shitting on p5
I'm shocked

it's alright. first hour is a fucking bore, limited things to do in a day, dungeons are kinda boring. I want a persona with less time limit, with today's technology there's no reason why we can't have long days, (wake up, actually go to school rather than being brought there automatically, go to the gym for a few minutes, go to work, hang with friends, go home). It just feels real limiting and i hate it LET ME DO THINGS

>gameplay
An objective step up from previous persona games, although it can be considered way too easy. Also, the schedule is much more flexible in this game. If you know what you're doing, you can Max all confidant s.links in a single playthrough without any guides.
>story
Absolute garbage, the premise was amazing, a group of kids wanting to change the world by changing the hearts of evil people, what are the ramifications? Is it morally right to do this? How did the developments within the story affect the perception that the player has toward the phantom thieves or the world of persona 5? Thrown all out the window because the endgame boss is MUH EVIL OVERLORD GOD WHO CONTROLS PEOPLES MINDS
>Characters
Also trash. Every one of the confidants are grade A joker dicksuckers. Even those who aren't, (story arcanas) become one in the end with no real reason or believable character development to do so. Shido is another thing. Tying all of the targets to him, alleviating all of the blame from the actions of the other bosses was a TERRIBLE idea. Of course, the true crime is eventually tying it all up to the big bad final boss.
>visuals
The cluttered HUD and overall flashiness of the game was like cancer to my eyes. So much bullshit that you really don't care about in the over world that makes you not look, and instead just look at the text and fast travel everywhere. Also, in combat, the flashiness can be nice but it just straight up hurt my eyes, especially the all out attacks.
>soundtrack
Amazing.

7/10

My favorite game right now

Good gameplay, mediocre story, bad characters, overall a fun experience though,

Persona 3/4, and if you enjoy the gameplay but don't mind a very different atmosphere and story then try mainline SMT games Nocturne, IV, and Apocalypse.

Sup Forums is contrarian, what did you expect?

I agree except for the bit about the UI, I didn't have problems with it & I'd give the game an 8/10

fuck off with that Sup Forums shit

Its not a REAL shen megoomy game

It's shit, like all SMT games, combat designed for brainlets

...

Name a JRPG series for non-brainlets besides SaGa. Genuinely curious

Damn i guess it's time to pre order p3dan

I can definitely see why it would be an appeal, but I just can't deal with it. Especially in the overworld when some rando gives a blob of text and you try to read it but it disappears in .2 milliseconds while you move and then you have to backtrack to see what was said, eventually just tuning out the little blobs of dialogue altogether.

Mega Man Battle Network

Unless we're doing the whole "every RPG from japan is JRPG" thing, that doesn't look like a JRPG combat wise

What's JRPG combat to you?

should I play it?

WHY DOES SO MUCB TIME GO BY. I WANNA DO SHIT. STOP RESTRICTING ME

Why is JRPG even a genre that exists? Why don't JFPS or JRTS exist?

Turn-based

I loved it

It shouldn't exist, but it does so I'm not going through semantics. 99% of the time someone says JRPG they mean LRPG

It’d be my 2017 GOTY if a two year old game about buff men and real estate deals didn’t steal its thunder by being a superior weeabo simulator

That's what I mean, Everything is good up until after Kamoshida because it felt personal, not only for your team, but also cause it could resonate with some ppl in real life and it was small time enough to be believable, a gym teacher abusing his students. After that, it turns into corrupt mayor, corrupt artisan, corrupt politician, etc. Shit that A. the average person doesnt experience, and B. Is on a level they dont care about. 4 kinda captured that sense of being in a small town and finding friends through people who want out of their dead set ways and the fight that comes with that. 5 is just lets solve so-so's personal life drama today.

Solid 4/5
Wish it had more music and didn't transfer P3/4's main issue - having a party member gf barely altering any of the story scenes.
Also the final dungeon/boss were random as fuck, just like in P4. Still enjoyed the shitton of this game, was worth the wait. If only FFXV ended up this good..

My autistic gay weeb friend bugged me to get it. I had no idea what this series was about, but he said I would love it. Turns out it was a glorified visual novel so I refunded it after playing 6 hours. This, for some reason offended my weeb friend, I guess cause he can’t handle others not liking things he likes. I fucking hate weebs and all of you motherfuckers who like this shitty game.

>I guess cause he can’t handle others not liking things he likes
> I fucking hate weebs and all of you motherfuckers who like this shitty game.

heh

Here's my blog post: the game is alright.
>Ridiculous premise
>Thematically juvenile
>Palaces and Mementos might as well be randomly generated levels with how barren and budget they come across
>There's little to actually do or explore; everything that is available is tied to your skills which are used to foster connections. Most people are obviously going for romantic relationships, however, they're entirely superficial with little payoff
>Characters are just cliche archetypes, all with backstories mind you, but none of which are particularly fleshed out or compelling
>The dialogue throughout the game is incredibly repetitive. For tens of hours it's just conversations reiterating the same points over and over
>English subs are terrible
>Standard and boring RTS combat which is more of a personal gripe
>The game does a poor job at making you care about loot and gear
>The OST is very good, but I actually think it's a bit overrated
>The menus are cool, and that's nice, but the game as a whole still looks like it also made for the PS3

>t.Weeb

>persona
>rts
What?

Meant turn-based, my bad

It WAS made for ps3. But still, this doesn't explain why graphics weren't upgraded for ps4, they had a lot of time.

Forgettable OST, outside of the vocal tracks
Decent to good combat
Bad to Average story
Average characters
Padded out and poorly paced
Mementos sucked
They put the best dungeon at the start
Awful localisation

>makoto
in the trash it goes

I agree with everything you said, but I'm still having a ton of fun with it. Maybe I just have low standards as long as the visuals and music are nice

Friendship simulator for asocial losers.

>I guess he can't handle people not liking stuff he likes
>I hate weebshit and this game and people who like it
the irony

That was the point I was trying to make. For all the well deserved praise the game gets for its sense of style, which is deserved, the moment to moment gameplay is ugly as heck because it was originally intended for the PS3.

Just chose a random girl. Takemi was my sweetheart.

I think it's totally fine to enjoy a game that isn't necessarily great, P5 isn't a bad game either. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was my GOTY, but I'll admit how flawed it was top to bottom.

Got to deal enough damage to him in a turn when you send someone to get the treasure

I can't say you're wrong but in Canada these games cost about $100 if you include taxes so I'm going to pretend you're wrong because I don't want buyer's remorse for a game I actually kind of enjoy

an instant classic. it's not perfect by any means but has many iconic elements that will surely shape the JRPGs of the future.

yup and I still love it and can't stop playing it

I sent Morgana but then my team started getting curbstomped because I didn't have Media, then when Morgana failed to steal the crown I decided that Media's healing should be enough to pull me through.

fpbp

Wasn't a major theme of the game the disconnection from others that modern life gives people? I feel like Persona 5 nailed it with the idea of going after bigger people - sure, Kamoshida was personal and a dick but the Phantom Thieves would never get known if they went after small-time crooks. They needed big, popular targets to stir public interest.

I spent 100 hours on it and it was shit

>Takemi
>likeing old wrinkled black pussy

I'm just gonna assume this post is ironic.

If it was shit why play for 100 hours? :^))))

guys should I buy it? it seems fun

just youtube it

Why play for 100 hours????

>gfx/visuals
Visual style of the game itself, the menus and the animated cutscenes work amazingly well on their own AND together. Top fucking notch, 10/10.
>sfx/music
Amazing OST with great tracks ranging from ambience to hype battle music, at times annoying voice acting, 9/10.
>writing
Authentic dialogue considering the cast is full of dumb teenagers, plot has SOME consistency and pacing issues at time but nothing too bad. Is also not too anime despite looking like it. Nice amount of build up for everything and manages to surprise you every now and then. Does a lot of little things that make you better immersed. 8/10
>gameplay
Resource management / VN side is fun with so many unique options and attractions catching your interest. There's never a lack of things to do and there's limited time for it. Combat is actually the best jrpg combat system I've ever played, but then I haven't played many and it still managed to bore me near the end but held up really well. 9/10 counted together.

92/100 overall with +1 for Makoto's ass. Made me interested in the rest of the Persona and SMT games.

It was shit.
8/10

again many good points but
>+1 for Makoto's ass
into trash

to substantiate your opinion on a congolese drumsticks forum obviously

it was alright
10/10

it's a masterpiece
1/10

It's only my second persona, didn't even finish the other I played.. I swear people always shit talked about how this series is so superior to FF but i don't see it. It has quality VA, music, and plot I'll admit. But half the game is just running around in sequenced dialogue. I feel like there's hardly any actual gameplay.

s-sauce

why you h8ing

>haha the theme is being shit! it does it so well i love it being shit :)

Imagine if someone took a shit, but someone worked their ass off to make that shit look as appealing as ever.

It's a nice looking shit. Even to the most keen eyed, it doesn't even look like shit. But it's still shit.

do you think it's better or worse than p4.

Great game until casino dungeon. Once there the story becomes 100% shit and unfun. Shido was a shitty villain who really didn't do much, Akechi killing cognitive Joker was stupid, and the Igor and Mementos end felt lazy. Besides that the music was amazing, combat was great, aesthetics were stylish as fuck, little details were great.

The social links were mostly good, some were pretty bad though especially Makoto. Somehow they made best girl have worst social link by making it about a dumb slut nobody should care about.

It didn't live up to my expectations. It took me months to finally get back to playing it since the story stopped being interesting after the casino.

Absolutely amazing until you realize you're too retarded to notice all the nice menus or be strategic in any way by just using Personas that null physical damage. Also when your life falls apart halfway through the game it becomes much less enjoyable. Play it when your in a content point in your life.

The best JRPG ever made. Everyone other candidate is only mentioned due to nostalgia.

It's a good game. Best fusion mechanic so far in the series.

liked it. gameplay is the best of the serise and feels more like a SMT game.

story could have been better handled and the charecters were pretty bland.

Brought alot of QOL changes, improved dungeons immensely, great stepping stone for the future games to work on

Hated Shido, and all the villains being tied to him, hated the amount of LETS GO TO SLEEP. The game felt like it constrained your time way more than previous games, which is probably why Fortune exists. So you get extra stat points and don't need to hangout with confidants if they won't rank up. Also the teacher can make tools, do laundry etc for you because LETS GO TO SLEEP.
