New Devilman game when? It being done by Platinum would be perfect.
New Devilman game when? It being done by Platinum would be perfect
>Devilman by Platinum
Works for me.
I was so damn excited for this game & it ended up sucking. Best Go Nagai game was that GBA rpg with all his characters in it.
real shit, dante is inspired by devilman, right?
is kamiya a devilman bro?
>SMT clearly inspired by Devilman.
>Dante cameoed in an SMT game.
Devil boys crossover when?
>_______ done by Platinum
Sick of this meme, seriously fuck off
Pretty much every anime guy transforming into a monster was inspired by Devilman. The series is old as fuck. Kazuya in Tekken Devil form is almost a direct ripoff.
A fuckload of things were inspired by Devilman, user. Kaworu is basically just Ryo, for example, and Griffith is at least inspired by him.
Every single piece of Japanese media who's themes revolve around god/demons is inspired by Devilman, user.
Did anyone see the live action movie? I've heard mixed things about it. But on the topic of devilman, it has got one of the most depressing endings ever.
Devilman inspired a lot of shit, not just Dante.
Who else would make it? Fucking FromSoft?
>It being done by Platinum would be perfect
Shoop da woop! Itty bitty baby u do not know da wae!
Don't be salty. Don't you want to enjoy a good game?
i'm genuinely happy to hear this because i always hoped it was true
nagai is the shit
more of his stuff needs to be adapted into (good) video games
I became the crybaby.
They rest of the Devilman media is nothing like Crybaby is it? Cyborg 009 vs Devilman was really cool, even though I've never seen/read either of the two shows.
>Tfw no SMT featuring devilmanfrom the devilman series and Dante from the devil may cry series.
crybaby's story is super fucking inspired by the events of the last couple years so the 1970 stuff is going to have a very different feel to it
but a lot of characters and some events are direct from the manga so if you liked crybaby you'll find stuff to like from the original
>unused concept art for Dante's "complete" DT in 4.
Crybaby is probably the most faithful adaption of the original manga to date. Most of the changes are just updating the tech and themes to reflect modern times, and the way the story is told: a lot of things that were once outright stated are now merely inferred (pic related). It's a lot more 'show, don't tell' than the original manga, but as a result people will tend to miss things.
Atlus?
So uh, is Lucifer or whatever his name is actually a grill?
Still has a dick.
HELLboy. Actually.
Hermaphrodite.
god damn it
Hermaphrodite.
he's satan. did you really think he wasn't going to be gay?
I mean it's a cool concept so far in Crybaby, but it looks completely irredeemable. Especially the demons and how everything moves. In my opinion it's really off putting.
So would you say that the best experience is the manga? I guess that's what everyone usually says though.
>hating on Yuasa's style
Faggola.
Ask Kamiya about it on Twitter. What could possibly go wrong?
Tee hee.
Is it better than the OVAs?
Don't know who that is, but it looks so clunky and awkward. I'm not a fan at all.
I'll retract the "completely irredeemable" statement though, that was too much of an exaggeration.
>also made by bandai
it's the meme anime of the year.
I do, that's why I avoid platinumgames products
>That part in one of the OVAs where he rips off a demon's boob and starts eating it
No, that would be Pop Team Epic
>we'll never get a Shin Getter Robo adaption that wasnt a fucking blubder
I still cant forget how Saigo no Hi dropped the ball after episode 5
I've seen it a few years ago, it's hilariously bad. Probably just boring if you didn't read the original media, but having read Devilman I was rolling on the floor at how wrong everything feels.
It's good show, it isn't as detailed, but it has a cool style that can get kinda goofy at times.
It us bretty gud modern adaption of the series just watch episode 1.
Also the soundtrack is fucking great.

Devilman and Hokuto no Ken are literally two most influential manga of all time. Everything that came after them with even similar premise or concepts was inspired by them.
Berserk is actually inspired by both of those.
Miura said he wanted to make something that would be a cross between Devilman and Hokuto no Ken set in medieval Europe and so you got Berserk.
Did they at least do the ending justice? I've never seen any Japanese related media that did the hopeless ending like Devilman did.
>tfw Akira will never be able to save Miki and Tare from a brutla death
Mazinger Z also creates mecha. Nagai and Tezuka are pretty much the beginning of it all
I seriously hope you plebs realize Devilman has a sequel with both Akira and Ryo being alive
You mean Violence Jack, right?
...
Pure kino.
Devil Lady is also a sequel
Well, it ends in a strange end-of-the-world Earth with streams of dead bodies flowing everywhere like lava, but for some reason the girl survives? I wouldn't say it did the ending justice, no. I honestly wouldn't recommend this movie except if you're watching it with a bunch of friends that already read Devilman. If you don't know the source, this movie is literally impossible to comprehend. It's like the director put a bunch of scenes together and hoped for people to remember the manga.
>order Devilman G
>people start talking about Devilman all of a sudden
huh
>all of a sudden
You know, maybe its the fact that it got a new anime series
>Haha why is user posting food
>Read the filename
>mfw
I hate you very much, user. On another note I am happy to see Devilman getting more recognition. Admittedly I didn't read the original manga until a friend introduced it to me a while ago but I've been using reaction pictures from the manga a lot. The whole thing is a goldmine for this. I've been meaning to watch all of the anime and manga spinoffs and adaptations but my new job keeps me short in time.
yeah that's probably why
The game where you still lose in the end? Brilliant
MY FATHER DIED
Oh this? It's laced with drugs.
>the butterfly rap
>seeing that tattooed hand
>tare's father finding him in the tent
>akira's parents
>akira shielding the humans from the mob
>the entirety of episode 9
>"Don't leave me..."
say what you will about pacing or tweening, but christ ths show had some staying power
That's right. I am crazy. *bang bang bang*
>mfw D.V.M.N revs up
That's right I'm crazy.
...
Early Ryo was a treasure
did they fug
...
>no Judgement
come on lad
So... this is.... the excellent writing Yuasa haters on Sup Forums are talking about...
That's from the manga, also fuck off with those obnoxious ellipsis.
My main complain about Crybaby is that they made Ryo into a sociopath straight up from the beginning
does ryo stab a bunch of people at sabbath like in the ova/crybaby? seems pretty sociopathic to me
That characterization of Ryo works really well with specifics pieces of dialogue in the show though.
Yes he also pulls out a machine gun on those thugs too.
But he always was a sociopath from the beginning?
It's an issue of the pacing. Series should have been a bit longer.
Angels are generally genderless, man.
I felt the biggest issue was that the tent scene with the family was uncalled for and manipulative. The mom couldn't get through to the kid, but the dad could? And when did the possession first take place? He didn't go to a Sabbat, which is how most people on crybaby that weren't possessed from the get go were shown to be taken over. It just feels like they made that scene to fuck with people, and nothing else. And it goea against Crybaby's "love" theme entirely. Oh well, at least the dad and mom stayed pure and kind. Devilman has never felt anti-Christian, and I thought for sure Crybaby might break the trend. It is just too easy.
>tfw recently discovering Devilman
this series is so wicked
Devilman works better without god being a character and all the angels are just weirdo aliens who decided to shit on demons oneday
Go Nagai is literally the original edge
The running animations though, I can't get over them. I cringe every time.
hermaphrodites are typically metaphors for perfect being that they have both male and female reproductive organs i.e. all that's required to create life
>And when did the possession first take place?
I thought I missed the scene or something, it was strange. It's probably on the cutting room floor somewhere.
Check out more of Go Nagai's stuff, it's fucking metal.
If a hermaphrodite fucks itself, will it be able to make babies from their own dick and vagina?
What? You talk like you've read it yet you think you have to get possessed if you go to Sabbath? Ryo is literally not making shit up when he says letting go of yourself in general may result in a possession.
...
I started reading the original GetterRobo a few months ago.
Devilman by Platinum needs to happen.
I love how Ryo went from absolute madman to down to earth back and forth.
Are there actually any good weeb games based on manga/anime? The best I've played was Jackie Chan Stuntmaster for PSX and it wasn't great.
Funny that you asked, because in the devilman sequel, the hermaphrosite does fuck itself and gets pregnant from fucking itself.
But I am not sure how it works in real life, but I am pretty sure only one of the two genitals work if you are a hermy.
Getter Robo's Ishikawa not Nagai...but they were pretty close and have similar styles, so it's cool.
You should watch Shin Mazinger, and read Mazinger Zero. The latter isn't by Nagai himself, but it is a tribute to his style.
i really didn't think that sabbath was the ONLY way to become a demon, what about the cripple coach, or the cat? it was more losing yourself to fear/intense emotions or being surrounded by pain suffering (like the refugee camp). The kid also cheered when the demon was revealed on the track. I was also under the impression that the kid didn't want to eat his mothet, but couldn't resist, and his emotions didn't well up to the surface until he saw his father shocked to his core
Those fucking sideburns my god. Did kids read this stuff along with HnK and JoJo? They're violent as hell.
Well he is crazy.
>yet you think you have to get possessed if you go to Sabbath?
I am talking about the narrative of Crybaby specifically. 0 people up to that point had been shown to be possessed outside people that we demons from their introduction, or people that took the pill at the sabbat. Basically, it just comes out of nowhere with little buildup. And keep in mind, this is discussing Crybaby, specifically.
Isn't it that the reason because we love him so much?
