What games are an acquired taste?
What games are an acquired taste?
Roguelikes/Roguelites, probably. I remember when I started playing the original Isaac way back when I was so goddamn infuriated that I had to start all over again every time I fucked up.
Truth be told, I'm quite proud of my house blend. To attain my flavor and fragrance, I use five different types of coffee beans.
hardcore sims like flight sim x or assetto corsa
>five different types of coffee beans
What is this meme?
I think it's a quote from somewhere
Kerbal Space Program
Coffee is only an acquired taste if you're a pleb
...

This. Seriously feel bad for people who liked Wild Hunt then went and played the first one.
not really, it's fun from the start. it's just that getting gud takes time
THIS
I spent most of my life hating FF8 until last night where I decided to watch a playthrough and man that game might be the best one artwise and storywise. Shame that the combat sucks.
most MMOs in the sense that everything is a fucking fetch/kill quest and you're just fighting the same monsters and clicking on the same things but for some reason you can't stop doing it and then the endgame happens and suddenly you have interesting things to do and since you've already spent like a hundred hours with the story characters you want to know what happens to them and etc.
not really
t. been playing ff14 since 2.1 and only play a total of 1 week per patch if that.
I had to force myself out of bed to log into mog to unsub. If 5.0 doesn't look like it's headed in a different direction I'm never subbing again.
STALKER. the pleb sees a mediocre shooter which is unpleasant to look at and shitposts about how delusional comfyfags are. the refined man sees an intelligent shooter with a rich history and vibrant culture, which has much more to offer than merely a comfy atmosphere.
I started with one but never finished it because of the fucking atrocious combat. If I'd wanted to play a rhythm game I'd go play PaRappa the Rapper
I think that's the point, user
This. Clear Sky's vanilla shooting is fucking garbage though.
...
I guess I neglected to mention the part where after the honeymoon endgame phase ends you suddenly realize that there's nothing more you want to actually do and you drop the game
but for some people MMOs can suck you in if you're not careful
I only bought Stormblood because the locations and MSQ seemed interesting, I was never going to do endgame because nofriends.
Hitman.
I loved the living shit out of gravity Rush and let it die and I'm the biggest pleb with game taste ever
Monster Hunter
Old CRPGs
Those games haven't aged well and I have to seriously Force myself hard to play some of them
...
You legit can only enjoy FF8 if you play it more than once. Which is funny considering the game's ending and plot.
same
>no smt yet
>haven't aged well
>Force myself
brainlet detected
The EDF series in general
>lol janky animations and looks like a ps2 game, the story sounds gay as fuck too
>see a .webm where a guy is zipping at mach speed and blowing shit up with reckless abandon while his buddy is calling satellite lasers, bombing runs and then shows up on a fuckoff mecha laying waste to anything in sight
The vanilla shooting in all STALKER games are the gaming equivalent of polished turds.
I will add onto this.
Robot Alchemic Drive.
>feel good because rng is giving you a good run
What happened to succeeding at a game because you got good at the mechanics? Everything has stats and lets you grind or is a fucking "rouge like" and doing well in game is way too dependent on rng
