Game has magic

>game has magic
>press single button to cast
>learn spells on levelup
>99% of spells are elemental blasts or coloured beams
>1% of spells are "ultimate spells" (blizzard and meteor strike)
>mandatory dress wearing
>pointy hat which clips through your cape required
>staff must be wielded but is never used in any combat animation
>spells do not interact with terrain
>or spells do interact with terrain (game is littered with strategically placed oil barrels and water puddles)

There's nothing wrong with that.

"Ultimate" spells are typically japanese/asian non-sensical crap due to their absolutistic mindset.
What you are referring to (blizzard/meteor) are more of standards.

Crossdressing does not improve magical aptitude. That's a shitty meme started by perverted old wizards and you're falling for it.

Sounds like you want to play Divinity OS2

>Every spell is completely outclassed by the melee's basic attacks

>game has magic
>game has levitation magic
>game has levitation magic that you can cast on yourself

>ground ennemy can still hit you with melee when you're levitating

Well, it improves programming prowess, so I fail to see why it shouldn't work on magic powers too

Good point. And many interpretations of magic is that it is kind of like programming too.

Here you go fren. I made this apu pic a couple of months ago by my hand in MS paint.

Best Magic System:
Magicka (1 > 2), Lichdom: Battlemage

Most Rewarding Magic System:
Dragons Dogma

You should play battlechasers. Almost everything you posted isn't true there. Not all of it. But almost all.

>enemies have spell reflect

>spells are rune based, with runes being found as items in game
>you have to draw a combination of runes on your screen with your mouse to cast a spell
>you can only have 3 spells memorized so prolonged combat will force you to git gud with drawing while dodging
>there are also scrolls if you're a scrub

Morrowind is truly the greatest wizard gameplay of all time

>using magic is basically just having a wand/staff shaped gun

...

>you also have spell reflect

>There's a bazillion schools of magic
>Almost all are trash

>fighter/thief/wizard rpg classes
>Wizards have to manage one additional resource over fighters and thieves, making them harder
>Shitty early game, autos suck, low base Mana no good spells
>Ok mid game with more options
>Garbage late game, many enemies resistant/immune to spell effects and damage
>Fighters and thieves outclass wizards at every stage of the game

Being a vidya game magic user is suffering

Too bad Magikas controls are retarded.

Not him, but I've played the first one. Is the magic in the second just as good? Only made it through the starter area so far.

Its controls is what makes it great. You actually learn to cast spells and get better at the game the better you remember and the faster you type them.

SO WHY I ASK, IT JUST DOESN'T MAKE MUCH SENSE.

>support class that replenishes MP instead of HP

I fucking hate Skyrim so much

>Magic costs SP
>recovering SP causes hunger clock to accelerate making you starve to death faster
>Magic has a fail chance that is capped so you always have a chance of fucking up no matter how much you grind into that skill
>All for a spell that can still be resisted or outright dodged by most enemies in the game

>spells can miss.
>not get resisted, straight up miss
