Actual roleplaying, and I prefer Morrowind's dice rolls to Oblivion and Skyrim's awful fucking excuse for action combat.
just fucking pick athletics and agility as your main skills, god
you won't miss at all right off the bat with those
Expect pic related.
Awful graphics and a lot of brown
A very fun game that can be overwhelming to a new player because of the sheer enormity of it. I very highly recommend before you start playing to mod it a bit, get the morrowind code patch which fixes a lot of bugs and annoying things, and I'd also recommend getting a mod that makes fatigue and magicka regen work like in Oblivion and skyrim. In vanilla you lose fatigue when running, and magicka doesn't automatically regen.
Every character in Morrowind will become godly strong eventually, but its easy to make a character that will have a shit early game. I recommend you go redguard swordsman, its the best character build for a new player since you start with a MASSIVE 50 long blade skill so you wont have to worry about MISS MISS MISS quite so much. Go to Balmora right away and do the fighter's guild questline there, its basically the game's tutorial.
million funny ways to break it, by using/doing things not the way you were expected to
>can't set "recall" to "target"
well, that was disappointing. So many funny ideas gone
Install the mod "passive healthy wildlife". No, this is not optional. Doesn't matter if you're running a vanilla install, or a modded install, you need this.
If you're going vanilla, also get better bodies, and all the heads by "mackom" on the morrowind nexus.
This tbqh. People shit on the combat, but ultimately oblivion and skyrim are worse at it even though morrowind's isn't great
I bet there's a mod for that
Expect a game made with heart
>actual RPG combat with dice rolls and stats are worse than mindless spamming
nu-Sup Forums everyone
This guy gets it.
Morrowind's Combat isn't supposed to be Action focused, it's real time dice rolling. Morrowind is not an ARPG like Oblivion and Skyrim.
generally it may not be bad idea to go straight for MGE. Just remember to not enable grass, of you'll pull barely 20-30 fps in some areas regardless of your hardware.
btw, how's OpenMW? It could solve any and all perfomance problems, but developement may take a while
Get ready for
>shit combat
>Graphics that will give you an headache after 5 minutes
>Repeative quests "Some witch stole my clothes" "go to X and return my Y"
>Shit story "You are the chosen one reborrrrn!"
>Shit landscape that is just brown
>Poor cities that are either all the same or vivec which will require you walking around in circles for 30 minutes trying to find that one quest giver
>No quest guidance "Go to dwemer ruin #5654323453 its near a tree"
>Broken guilds
>TEXTTEXTTEXTTEXTTEXTTEXTTEXTTEXTTEXTTEXTTEXTTEXTTEXTTEXTTEXTTEXTTEXTTEXTTEXTTEXTTEXT
>Broken levelling system
I guess the title screen is nice? And you get to show off on Sup Forums that you managed to grind through it and we'll all be impressed and call you a real gamer, just like Sup Forums!
openmw is great I really on enjoy it's multi data folder structure it offers, makes installing and removing texture and model mods a breeze.
Only real problem I have is that some of the older mods that have work around for normal and bump maps have to be modified to work in openmw or else you get terrible looking stuff.
It's great that this newest version of openmw brings back distant lands.
Every single character quoting the same wikipedia articles over and over again.
Slow paced game with not the best graphics and a dated combat system. Worth giving it a go though, if you can get past the shortcomings. Personally it's my favourite TES game due to the interesting world, lore, soundtrack and the amount of RP. Also the best TES DLCs
thats a lot of bait
The only issues I have with OpenMW is that physics are changed so your character will often get stuck and you have to use levitate and also changed stat birthsigns to be just buffs which no one asked for
The only elder scrolls game that's worth playing desu
