Why do people still pretend this is good?
Why do people still pretend this is good?
I liked the Grand Canyon music.
Mix of nostalgia and some decent gameplay moments and mechanics. Chao are an alright time sink, and despite lacking any real depth, the game can be fun if you have the levels memorized. It's heavily flawed, has bad story telling, some real awkward cut scenes, and mediocre animations. But I know I still care about the game. If you didn't grow up with the game, you shouldn't play it.
I saw some youtubefag explain it pretty well.
Apparently since we had to grind levels for animals for chao raising, people just replayed the levels they liked over and over, making them forget the shitty parts of the game by just going over the good parts over and over.
You watched ProJared make observations everyone's made 100 times and observations nobody's made because they're objectively wrong
>Why did Eggman help the heroes stop the Ark from destroying the Earth when HE wanted to destroy the Earth???
Nostalgia. Also, some people like the Knuckles/Rouge and Eggman/Tails sections for some reason.
Because it's good
chao garden is comfy, also chao editor on pc
...
Is it bad?
Yes. Unless you like the Knuckles/Rouge and Eggman/Tails stages. If so, fair enough.
1/3 of it was defiantly good
so it would be a good game if you got rid of sonic and shadow's levels?
No, I'm saying the other stages are the issue. But if you like them, then fair enough.
>Not rolling around at the speed of sound
Alright. What about the main game?
Shit, nigger, is your attention span so bad that you can't tolerate the 2 or 3 minutes max it takes to breeze through the average Knuckles or Rouge level?
And I've never understood why people dislike the Mech stages, that shit is fucking cool, it's just 3D platforming with guns. I don't see the problem at all.
Sonic Adventure 2 is a 10/10 game and is legitimately in my top 10 video games of all time. I own it on every platform it has ever been released on and will continue to purchase it on any future platforms it may be released on. I never go more than one year without replaying the whole thing from start to finish. My opinion on the brilliance of this game has not changed since 2001.
because Rouge has nice big boobs
I can't dude, I've got places to go.
>first sentence
>"just speed through the shit parts man"
The state of Adventurefags. Also, it's not 3D platforming with guns. It's a glorified shooting gallery.
Both of those things are objective downgrades to the SA1 counterpart with the emerald hunt being all RNG and only 1 piece is trackable at a time. The Mech works for Eggman but is boring as shit for Tails
Combine some useful game games. Although Chao is a time of humor, this game is enjoyable if you remember the rating. It's upset, bad, and some mediocre entertainment. But I know this game whenever it is important for me. If you do not grow up in the game, you should not play
>The Mech works for Eggman but is boring as shit for Tails
Why? Because there's a fox in the mech instead of a bald man?
If you've seen THAT webcomic you think a lot less of Tails.
Because I want to go fast in a sonic game with a character that's almost Sonic's speed
Eggman can outrun Sonic while Tails can't.
Fuck off and die you piece of shit nigger. SA2 is one of the greatest video games of all time. I swear the only people that are retarded enough to hate it have down syndrome and have single digit IQs. The game is charming and fun and has a suprising amount of depth and detail to it. Kill yourself, I'd bash on your skull until it was a bloody puddle if you said this irl.
notoleranceformentalretadation2018#
Is good enough to replay both stories every couple of years depiste its flaws.
Sonic/Shadow are still very fun despite a more linear stage design compared to SA1. It was also the last time where it felt a really 3d Sonic in terms of controlling the characters
>bad story and awkward cutscenes
Despite that, it is one of those exceptions which makes it funny and memorable. Same goes with SA1 with all those weird lines
>animation
I wouldnt even say that. Even "Teeeeeray" scene is like.. something else lets say that
You're back! How's it going bro?
Mix of autism and nostalgia
What?
Rouge had great tiddies, but the game is trash otherwise.
Fucking niggers like you are scum.
Um
because he didn't want to die while doing so?
Damn my bad bro.
I enjoy this game, but it did not age well at all.
I used to love the multiple missions per level when I was younger, but now I see they are just a substitute for more organic replayability that comes from more open levels.
I like treasure hunting stages. The characters are very fun to control.
Mech shooting is tolerable for Eggman as he has better levels, but Tails' are dogshit. This gameplay style is just few parameter changes away from being decent. They should keep the controls closer to how Gamma played - he could actually make quick turns.
lol could you imagine if people like this actually existed though?
>And I've never understood why people dislike the Mech stages
Now stop. I was the one that posted as an semi shitpost because yes, as much as non Sonic gameplay SA2 can be that generally gets bashed on, SA2 is by no means bad, but it's not so good by comparison to other Sonic games after 06 for example. However the Gamma-like stages are just so orthodox to the main core gameplay style of Sonic, it's just generally baffling that it's even in a game like this. Say what you will about Werehog, at least it consist the three typical elements, with one being on the lowest scale: Platforming, Speed and Exploration. The problem with the Mech levels is that the levels are literally corridors, so Exploration is basically handicap beyond repair. Speed is also really bad by comparison to the Werehog, were you can at least dash in that game, you can ONLY go faster than your default speed when you hit a dashpad which, ironically, the game doesn't spam dashpads everywhere enough so you keep going at a fast pace, making Mech levels a real slog to get through.
Which leaves Platforming, which is heavily present in Mech levels yes, but thanks to the obvious tank controls, you feel less like your platforming in a Sonic game, you feel like you're platforming with an actual tank in real life. Which needless to say, it sucks. The one level that got past this was Eggman's Space level, which was something people usually can say would have been nice if Mech gameplay played like that the ENTIRE time instead of the slog you have to get through.
So, in conclusion, no, Mech levels are NOT ok. They are worse than Gamma's gameplay, which in itself was not that good either when compared to something like Amy, which then was inferior to Knuckles, Tails and of course Sonic. The Hunting levels in 2 at least follow the "Classic Rule" closer than the Mech levels did, but even that had problems but generally they aren't that severe despite what others would like you to think.
>Why? Because there's a fox in the mech instead of a bald man?
Yes. Because said Fox in EVERY OTHER GAME EVER he's playable in he plays PERFECTLY FINE being a Sonic clone with the ability to fly. Like, for example, the PREVIOUS ADVENTURE GAME before SA2. It shows how obvious he was a last minute addition in SA2 instead of just having him playable from the start instead of cutting him initially and had to get the fans to add him back in. Sonic Team being lazy shits wasn't acceptable then, and it SURE isn't acceptable now if you haven't realized.
The thing is that the Gamma stages were parts of Sonic levels so more paths were available(like Red Mountain), except for that train part on Hot Shelter that was a new.
And that's kinda what I mean about the exploration part, in SA2 they are more linear pathways with less variation compared to SA1 for example.
