I was planning to buy the switch
But seriously WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?
I've heard the joy con grip is uncomfortable, and you'll need to buy a 70$$ controller. What the fuck jewtendo?
I was planning to buy the switch
You don't need the pro controller, the joy con charging grip or a microSD card.
But playing without controller is not comfortable user
I got used to using joycon grips in a day.
It comes with two joycons already. You don't need the charging grip nor the pro controller. Joycons work just fine.
You could buy the wired one wich is a lot cheaper and works fine as well
So for long periods of playing there's no problem with the joy cons?
Just get the Hori or PowerA wired controllers. Less than half as expensive.
Yep. I got used to it quick, and when I go back to use my PS4 controller I don't seem to fuck up.
They're fine for long periods of play.
There is absolutely no reason to get the charging grip. A pro controller might be nice, an extra set of joy cons depends on the situation, but the charge grip is just a waste of money. The joycons themselves last for DAYS separate from the console. It's a completely superfluous accessory, just get a spare normal one if you need it for the other set of joycons, otherwise the system comes with one for the joycons included with the system.
>chair to sit on while playing: $80
>TV to be able to play Switch: $1200
>TV stand: $120
>house to live in to be able to have a socket to charge your switch: $500k at the least
>electricity: $100 per month
Fucking Nintendo
OP "I'll spend $80 on controllers that I find uncomfortable and are already in the box"
yep, best way is to just use them separately, I'd say it's even more comfortable than a standard controller because your arms aren't forced to stay in one position
you can also use almost any USB controller with adapter, just google how to do it, some guys on youtube were able to connect xbox, playstation, gamecube and even N64 controllers to switch
Depends on the game
Zelda I was most comfortable with left strap on and right naked.
Mario I used grip.
Skyrim I use both strap on and off.
>Inb4 lol skyrim
Overall you can find a super comfortable style easily.
Not him but yeah. The grip is fine, but now I prefer being a lazy asshole, slouching in whatever position I want, and playing with them detached. They're not as comfortable as a normal controller, but certainly not to the point that the pro controller is a mandatory purchase.
When it first came out, I played BotW for 20 hours straight (mostly using the grip though) with no problem.
*any controller with USB adapter
This. Why not go all the way with these maths instead?
what a stretch there, slim
What we really need are a combination Joycon strap/grip that adds the little handle to hold onto while keeping the joycons separate.
It comes with two joycons and a grip, silly.
>If I get every extra, it costs more!
Then don't buy every fucking extra, dumbass.
>I've heard the joy con grip is uncomfortable
I've never had a problem.
Joy cons are the best control scheme OP. And they recharge when they’re plugged into the main tablet. You have nothing to worry about.
As for the SD Card...if you intend on buying a lot of digital titles and/or saving out a lot of photos/videos, then get one. Otherwise you can chalk up that cost to the $59.99 game.
I picked up nothing but the basic Switch + games and I’ve been super comfortable so far.
I can kind of understand the MicroSD, but the others? Why is he paying for an extra set of Joy-Cons AND a Pro Controller? Is he planning on having an extended Mario Kart/Bomberman/Pokken multiplayer session with friends?
And the charging grip is just an idiot trap. Any halfway decent USB Type-C charger can do just fine with the wireless Pro Controller, and the Joy-Cons charge while on the dock.
Yes exactly. Fund it. Their flatness is the only thing that kinda sucks when playing detached.
I need a job to pay for this shit. So I need a 3000 dollar computer to submit resumes on indeed.
After I get an interview, I need a nice suit to interview in. That's another 500 smackers.
After I get the job, I need a car to get to the job.
That's another 15k down the drain. All just to play some fucking video games.
>Joycons come with the console
>Dont need charging grips if you're buying a pro
>Game will come bundled with a game
Listen, Id go as far as to say the Switch is unfinished as a console, it has a lot of problem. But when you invent issues it makes it look like there isn't any.
I am on this train too
The first day I was really concerned because they felt too small for my hands, but after a day I don't even notice now. Just takes a minute and then you're good.
Does soul of cinder need an edit holding a joycon with his mouth agape?
For people interested — you get all you need hardware wise with console.
I bought screen protector for ten bucks and some games. I guess you need SD card if you are planning to go all digital, but 32 gb Switch storage is enough for physical fags like me. At least for now.
Pro Controller is awesome (bought myself Xenoblade version), but I was totally comfortable with included grip.
...
The joycons are fucking great desu.
On their own is kinda anoying but the grip makes it way fucking better and super comfortable.
I've just held the wired controller last night, didn't play with it, but it felt great.
But this joycons are bad meme is straight Sup Forums contrarianism shitting on Nintendo for a meme/autism, you can clearly tell.
Does anyone else ever get some jerky motions now and then with the right joycon? Sometimes when I was aiming in Breath of the Wild it would suddenly jerk in a direction after not moving. Is it vulnerable to wireless interference?
But beyond that, the JoyCons are extremely comfy to use.
Kek
Thanks everyone who answered
After seeing that there's no problem, I'll buy one. Dont fail me again Sup Forums
>Unfinished as a console
>lot of problem
Like?
like no games and shitty graphic
simply epic
You'll be fine OP.
The real deal or break will be whether or not you like the software.
Do you already know what you want to play?
I didn't buy another pair of joy cons or a charging grip, but I bought a screen protector and fucking usb ethernet adapter instead because that piece of shit doesn't have an ethernet port even in the dock.
>$399.99 console
>$59.99 controller
>$15.99 charging cable
>$799.99 television
>$793.49 couch
Over $2000 for a PS4?? What the fuck Sony?
I'm more interested in what's coming. Or what could be coming at least.
Animal crossing is one of my favourite nintendo series and I want one so badly.
Smt5 too.
For now I only want to play Zelda and Xenoblade 2, probably mario kart since I liked those when I was a kid.
I already played disgaea 5 on ps4 but I might end up buying it again if I'm bored. Really enjoyable
PM me I'm selling my switch bundle with 6 games and pro controller for 500
Well Zelda, MK8D and Xenoblade 2 will each net you at least 100+ hours as will Disgaea should you pick it up so you should be good then in terms of getting value out of it if you buy now.
Don't forget the 600,000 dollar house needed to power it.
Not him, but honestly, I will be surprised if there are actually people, who will not like at least one Switch game. I actually think that this was one of the best first years for any console software wise.
$500 is a small price tp pay for the satisfaction of showing yourself off on social media.
I agree in the fact that they managed to hit many different genres pretty well for a Year 1.
Here's hoping they can keep up the pace and variety for Year 2 as well, even if 2 of their biggest IPs will be on the backburner for awhile (Mario & Zelda).
You're joking but for half of Sup Forums, that's probably why they don't have a Switch
You don't /need/ it, but fucking hell it is so much more comfortable for long sessions
Animal crossing for 2018, and nothing more would be enough to both satisfy owners and get plenty of sales
>Skyrim
seriously of all the games available for the switch why would you buy a version of that piece of shit that runs horribly and doesn't even have mods? branch out and buy a fucking indie game you mouthbreather
don't forget the 20K+ you need to spend to go to school to get a job.
Stop being poor faggot.
It's portable
For Japan surely and a decent amount of overseas audiences but I still think 1 megaton would keep up momentum and that may be a proper Mario Party (assuming Nintendo have listened to the complaints about the last 4 or so Mario Party games).
What the fuck ...
Playing with joycons with no grip is more comfy than the pro controller. Only reason to get a pro controller is for more controllers or if you are autistic about dpads
...
If you need more controllers, joycon are the way to go, because they're technically two
I agree with him. Stop being poor.
And somehow this is ok but buying one Vita card for 60$ capable to hold the console's entirely worthwhile library was worse than hitler even though it was an OLED qHD console in fucking 2012.
Ninten cucks are completely deluded and will believe any lies.
whoa
I guess that excuses all the game's flaws then, except every fucking switch game is portable so that's not much of a reason against picking it over much better games
Its more like $450 because you'll want the pro controller, SD card and a game
Which seems about right for any console since you'll want a game and controller and you can get a card for about $20
Don't forget the Wii U ports, like Bayonetta. For me, who never owned Wii U, they are like new games. And something tells me I'm not alone.
You don't need a vita card to hold the console's entirety of worthwhile games LOL
>game
Well no fucking shit
>console
Well no fucking shit
>30 bucks for a memory card that will last you the rest of the console's lifetime
Boo hoo
>all the rest of it
Shit you literally don't need.
Cry more.
>stop being poor
>have a cheap logitech speaker.
LOL poorfag get the fuck out
That's $110 less than I paid last gen for a handheld's sd card.
I'm not poor. I just spend my money wisely. I like videogames, but they are not a priority. Also, I'm not autistic, you won't play half of those games let alone enjoy them
>$60
> for a Vita memory card
What is that, like 16 GB?
It's not like Skyrim is the only game I bought lmfao. I definitely bought a ton of indies
Some Logitech speakers are amazing, can't say if his are though.
Not him but I payed 100€ for a 64GB one
After installing all my shit and ending up only playing persona 4 golden, i sold it for 50 and, curiously, my vita broke a month after.
She committed suicide :^(
I know OP, it's bullshit. It reminds me of that time I decided to buy a bottle of water.
>bottle of water: $1
>seven hundred thousand dragon dildos: $40,000,000
It's just ridiculous. Fuck Drumpf and fuck wypipo.
No one wants to use the half controller
Okay so PS4 on release:
$400 console
$60 controller
$80 external hard drive
$30 random accessory
$60 game
$50 for 12 month PS Plus
So that's $680. Keep in mind the switch has a screen built in, so that's a pretty costly piece of it. There's no point in talking about the price, it's fine.
Yeah but when you have a lot of friends over it's definitely an option
The only time it's really been an issue is trying to play tetris with an analog stick
400?
You can get it not for less than 250. Hell even for 200
>controller comes with system
>PS4 actually has storage space
>um...random accessory!!!
>implying you need plus, and plus doesn't give you 6 games a month which pays for itself
Try again
You don't need anything more than the console and a game.
Not on release. When the switch is 4 and a half years old you'll be able to get it cheaper too.
>controller
>external hd
>random accessory
Nintenfags are really sad now that Nintendo shot their wad early and are about to go on a long stretch without shit to play
Bbbbbut the ps4 isn't an overpriced underpowered tablet
Okay so in OP:
You don't need storage because games don't install.
Don't need $30 charging grip.
Don't need $80 extra joycon.
Without extra shit that isn't necessary that's $430 with a game. Not that outrageous.
Well gee, it's just like how the OP put it, isn't it? It's almost like you don't really need to but a bunch of extra bullshit for either console.
Considering that for 1000$ more plus tip you could get an iphone, the best device ever, it is outrageous
He said on release. As in 2013, it was $400. Jesus do you even read?
>tfw had to give a 50% tip last time I bought an iphone
...
Hey can you delete this please?
You're ruining my narrative.
Thank you.
>tfw bought a chink phone that does the same but for 100$
Feels good man
the only accessories there I'd actually recommend are an SD card and the pro controller.
more like
>$299.99 console + $59.99 game = $359.98
Shame about wwe2k18 tho...
I agree joycons are not the best. I still love the games tho and it's not much of a problem if your playing casually.
>that small room
Will you be able to eat this month?
Why the fuck do toddlers think that strawmanning and exaggerating out of the ass is enough to deflect this criticism?
Do you use electricity, chair, TV, clothes, hookers, etc solely for gaming?
Meanwhile, the calculation shown in is strictly just for getting the full Switch gaming experience.
still the cheapest console on the market
>microSD card
Unnecessary if you're buying strictly physical. I bought an SD card almost 2 months ago and I haven't even taken out of the packaging.
>Joy Cons
The console already comes with them, and it's technically 2 controllers. Not necessary
>Pro Controller
Again, it's not necessary
>Charging Grip
Not necessary either as there is a grip out of the box. I don't even get why people would even need to charge the Joy Cons - just attach them to the Switch and charge them either through the dock or cable in handheld mode.
Basically, a bunch of horseshit made up to inflate the costs of a Switch. My initial purchase was just the console and 4 games - everything I needed was in the box. Only later did I gradually start buying all kinds of acessories, but that's to be expected of any console.
