Now that it's not new and no longer edgy to say otherwise, can we all agree it's pretty good?

Now that it's not new and no longer edgy to say otherwise, can we all agree it's pretty good?

I hereby agree that Resident Evil 7 is a good game.

Best in the series.

besides 4

As someone who only consumes Resident Evil through the Best Friends, it seemed pretty good. The second DLC was cool as fuck and apparently pissed a lot of people off.

Better than 6 and 5.

definitely. this is my first re game. went back to play the older re games and they look and play like trash. crappy camera angles and awful controls.

(You)

it was a 8/10

and 3 and 1

I think only 4 and 2 are better. I'm biased towards 2 though, it was the first RE I played when I was a kid

No. It was fucking garbage.

I really like 3. Nemesis was great.

(You) were almost a bait sandwich!

It was the most palatable RE in 15 years.

stay butthurt. capcom is going to keep making re7 clones and they'll all be goty. all of the dlc was top notch and worth every cent. enjoy waiting for your next remake.

Yeah they have to do REVIII in the same style.

Honestly it was my GOTY.
I played the whole thing in VR and it was so much fun and the DLC made an already awesome game better

This thread is already filled with nu-males, try again tomorrow

I thought it was alright. It got kind of annoying having to run around a lot since it was kind of pointless killing enemies. I felt like the boat was better than the house though.

Not him, but I remember the first one having terrible controls on the PS1, couldn't aim for shit with a handgun. And I don't remember having difficulties with most games /vr/ says have tank controls, like the Crocs

Also I want RE8 to be what RE2 was to 1 if you get me.

No, far from it. But still very good. I actually look forward to 8 now. When 6 came out, I couldn't care less about 7.

>he doesn’t like tank controls
>he doesn’t switch to auto-aim immediately and never looks back

Capcom made like 1 good third-person Resident Evil and then made a bunch of shit trying to emulate it. Hopefully with this new trilogy of first person games they'll improve instead of getting worse

Cant you say the same thing about the old REs too? I ran past a fuck ton of zombies in 2.

>posting deader than death
Why must we suffer?

You’re meant to kill zombies in 2 because theres so many and so much ammo. And it’s very meaningful to do so

Well I have no opinion to share on those games. Never been much into the series. I've only played 7, and the 2 revelation games.

Just beat it for the first time last night. Loved it. Was such a good game, Even the boat part was fun. Going to start the dlc later tonight

>everything before the ship

very good tier, not REmake or RE4 level but definitely good

>as soon as you enter the ship

literally revelations 1 tier shit

Those are all very weird starting points. If you liked 7 then you might as well try RE1/2, and if you liked the Revelations games then you might as well try RE4.

Well mate when I have so little ammo I gotta say I'm not a huge fan of them. I'm not a huge fan of shooters in general, but have had no problem with tank controls in other games that I think of when I was a kid. Dropped the game after 20 mins playing it, maybe now that I'm older I'd like it but meh, have other shit on my backlog already

I loved the ship but I also loved Rev1. That said, the setting doesn't have anything to do with it so much as it a.) having any degree of nonlinearity with the elevator parts compared to the old house or training area and b.) having multiple actual floors to explore unlike the old house. The only area of the game I liked more than the boat was the mansion basement.

I just finished, and enjoyed the hell out of it. I'm a bit afraid to drop another 40 dollars on the DLC though, not sure if it's worth it. Not a hero was fun, but I wouldn't pay much money for something that took an hour and a half to beat.

End of Zoe adds a little extra closure to the story but from what I've heard the Banned Footage stuff is completely optional.

End of Zoe is seriously awesome and I've already gotten like 4 extra hours out of it from all the side content in the DLC alone.

Alright, I'll pick up End of Zoe for now then, and maybe somewhere down the line I'll get the rest.

You can get Not a Hero for free you know?

He already played it.

Oh wait...ignore my post.

The Baker family were the best villains I've seen in a Resident Evil game. Much better than Megalomaniac Villain in Suit #464 all the past ones had. I hope they do more games like it.

Scaling the environment back and not having it take place in giant UMBRELLA research facilities and cityscapes also made it a more tense and claustrophobic spooky experience. VR adds so much more to it also. It was my game of the year too.

The one he said he already played?

No.

I know I'm stupid.

Before release I was one of the people proclaiming it was just jumping on the Outlast train, but fortunately I was wrong. There's a lot of great stuff in it.

I really liked the first person in the end.
What i hated is the lack of zombies,

I think its a great reboot idea, but it didnt live up to its potential fully.

Its not a reboot user.

user its not a reboot, theirs connections to umbrella, raccoon city and other rez stuff in the game

Way better than I thought it would be. Solid 7 or 8 out of 10, could've used some more fine tuning. Way more classic RE stuff than I was expecting. Jack is the man.

I'm too scared to finish the game. I got to.the part where the guy kidnaps the mc in the beginning and makes you eat dinner with him. Took me a lot of courage to get to that point.

So you played for 5 minutes?

Then whats up with the rebooted Chris?
By re7 events he should be 50, he looks in his late 20 ties early 30ties to be now, not to mention he works for numbrella.

Im sure its one of those soft reboots like star trek etc, where it pretends to be part of the same universe but really dosnt give a shit about the lore or previous entries.

Just keep going, soon you will get your first gun and it will become easier to go through

I understand your reservations about chris but new chris is great and he is on loan to blue umbrella from the ubss. This takes place after rez 6.

GOTY

There's no way this isn't bait.

I got to the part where I shoot MC wife with a gun, it didn't help much desu

FROSTY
CHOCOLATE
MILKSHAKES

I think your in the wrong thread.

Post your favourite Jack moments/Lines.

>OHHHHHH BOI!
>NOW LOOK WHAT YOU DONE MUTHERFUCKEA!

agree

What part are you at, theirs a couple fights with the wife.

What you mean bait? Chris is literally over 20 years younger suddenly, hes an old man yet he dosnt look anything like himself in the new game.
Not to mention numbrella idea seems to completly against everything in previous games.
I think the tie in was a last minute addition, i seriously doubt this game was supposed to be the part of main franchise.

The ending cut scene with jack ethan and zoe is great.Jack explains how eveline is destroying his family and he just wants peace from it all. I felt bad for him at that point.

Was it autism?

I really enjoyed it, it was the first RE I played though. I know it's significantly different than the others, but I'll probably play REmake or 4 next. I heard the wii version of 4 is the best.

I frankly think RE7 is going to be remembered as a cult hit
Almost like the first Evil Dead.

Ehh, I went through a bunch of wife shit. I'm on the part where the dad knocks me out and makes me eat dinner with him and a dead grandma. He hears someone at the door and gets up to go check. Stopped right there

Same. I was so fucking glad to be proven wrong. When it was just the demo I was afraid there'd be no combat and it would just be a walking sim with puzzles. Even when the devs said there'd be combat I imagined it would just be some stupid QTE shit, "combat."

I player resident evil revelations and loved it.
Any suggestions where to go next?

IN the next 15 mins of play time, you get a mini boss fight and your first gun to keep

It was always good.

It's just not as good as 1, 2, CV, REmake, 0, 4, 5 or 6.

I appreciated it but I can't help but feel it was a bit too linear and scripted, not enough exploring, not enough puzzles, too much combat especially near the end, also block turned the game into a regular action game.

Nice cah!

This.
If Capcom is smart they just need to make RE8 the same as RE7 but jus make bigger and with more stuff.

It's amazing in VR. I wasn't sold by the concept until I got to play this game on it. Nothing has topped it for me either.

I disagree
It is better then 0 CV 5 and 6.

Spin off when?

thought it was great. lacked replay value though.
Also, whatever cunt made professional difficulty for Not a Hero can fuck off.
I was expecting typical hard mode/professional RE stuff. But no. The fact that throw you in with no guns and an increased enemy count is ass. I went in excited to do a Pro run, and within 10 minutes knew i was never gonna touch it again.

RE has done only knife mode before man.
Plus you can get a gun halfway through.

>The second DLC pissed a lot of people off.
It did? End of Zoe was fucking great, spin off when

ZOEH

>Punch molded to death?
>That sounds suicidal
>JESUS CHRIST IM THE MOTHERFUCKING FIST OF THE NORTH STAR

Best one since 4. Not perfect by any means (hated the DLC coming out so soon afterwards and now some of it could've easily been implemented into the main game), but probably the most I've enjoyed a horror game since Dead Space 2.

GIT YUR AZZ

Glad they reconnected her death.
Overall her dying in the original game seemed like complete writing blunder.

Also wouldnt mind if she was the next protagonist, the fcuked up that whats his name from re7, he was too boring and too generic.

Same here, its one of the few games I wanted to platinum. I didn't bother with the DLC trophies, though.

>the fcuked up that whats his name from re7
Ethan was absolute dogshit, he gets his hand fucking sawn off and barely flinches or screams. Meanwhile Clancy cries in sheer pain and terror when losing his finger. Clancy was a way better protag, honestly. But I guess it would've been too cheesy to have Clancy as the main character due to his backround as a haunted house cameraman.

Yeah I don't doubt that. Just saying I'm too jumpy to play this it seems. I didn't have this problem with the other RE games

I played right until the part where you finally get a gun and quit. Literally artificial difficulty.

Am I the only person who hated that DLC?

Man, i wish the whole game was the hunted house gimmick, fuck my wife i want a redneck waifu

I actually thought they were going to go the paranormal route from the first trailer. I liked the direction overall, but it would be interesting to see RE's take on it.

The demo did an amazing job of selling the game, that's for sure.

How did The Bakers go by without ever being discovered by anyone anyways?

Just beat this game for the first time last month. Was my first RE.
Fucking fantastic game. Playing through REmake now, spoiler free, and it's pretty fun, but navigation takes fucking forever

Absolutely. Especially fighting the molded in the basement in the last update.

Why are you having a problem with navigation?
You need to use your map more and if you got everything in a room it will come up as red showing there is nothing else in it.
Should help.

Yes. I'm sorry to tell you this, user, but you have shit taste.

>pic related: it's you

Pretty mediocre to me
