ZM made a profit we didn't get a new 2D game because Iwata restructured Nintendo, NST fucked up Project Hammer, and because Team Ninja was too handicap to learn how to create a 2D Metroid game. If anything Other M was responsible for the series hiatus because it was complete shit and flopped for good reasons.

Sakamoto wanted a 2D game, Team Ninja wanted the game to play like a Ninja Gaiden Game and that's how we ended up with the shit we got. Hayashi's a hack.

Honestly, I find his second phase to be kind of awkward and annoying. Falling to the ground and getting damaged every time you get whipped by tentacle pussies is a pain. Phase 3 was pure kino though.

Am I the only one that still finds 3's final boss challenging at times? I still die on occasion. Meanwhile I have to literally avoid just about every energy tank in 1 and 2 if I want a challenge.

Metroid Prime and Emperor Ing (all forms) are like that for me. I would literally have to try and not to collect anything in order to die.

I don't think they're very hard either, but they're sure as shit more of a challenge than dark samus + aurora unit

The annihilator beam literally homes in on those tentacles. The only tricky part is maybe hitting the eye with a super missile between the moving shields.

Not same user, but he wasn't as big of a challenge as others throughout the series. As for a final boss? Ehhh kinda a pushover. I had more trouble with Empeor Ing than Metroid Prime. This is just my opinion though.
