Is Nintendo retarded, I want to buy them both but I can't find them anymore

Also how long are the cables for this? I know the NES classic has really short controllers but can I just pull the system out into the middle of my living room? I have about 12 feet from my couch to my TV

just use an emulator thats literally what the classic is

>tfw working on beating mad clown in super punch out
I’d say like 5 feet long at most, not long at all.

140cm, don't know measurements in potato runes aka inches. And yeah, Nintendo are the biggest kikes in the world.

I went to Best Buy the other night and they had eight of them. They went up online at WalMart earlier. Shouldn't be hard for much longer.

Jewtendo is randomly shipping very small quantities to different retailers
It’s like trying to win a scratch off, people look for it once and give up forever
I just randomly cruised through target with my homie and we found one

>potato runes
Irish niggers use commie units, aka metric
That's like the wall plug right? So with the controller that should be what like 8 feet in length? That kinda sucks

I actually got scheduled to work a morning shift at Target last week once and was lucky enough to be there when the SNES Classics we got that morning put out. I bought one immediately. Within an hour the other 4 were gone and one cunt who was clearly reselling for profit bought two, trying to take one out of the hands of another customer who was looking over the game list and trying to decide if he wanted to get it.

How are you not finding it? It's not terribly scarce. Now the NES Classic, I'm waiting for a restock of that one, they promised.

I measured mine, cable's approximately 4 and a half feet long.

>my friend wanted an NES Classic
>CAG posted on twitter about the Woot mobile app getting some
>go for it
>miraculously get one
SNES>NES, but man, apparently people really want the NES Classic.

why do you want an emulator box that can't even run yoshi's island properly

Never. Making it appear as though your product is flying off the shelves is more important than actually selling your product to stakeholders.

It's the same idea as bragging that you have 100% accuracy in an FPS after shooting a target that isn't moving 3 times. Seeing that 100% is the most important thing to them despite the fact that the sample size is minuscule. That's why they are only ever in stock in Q3/Q4. They want the scalpers to buy the units.

If scalpers buy the units and try to resell them, people will think to themselves "Damn, that person is selling Item X for triple/quadruple market value. People must really want that item." As soon as they entertain the thought, the likelihood of them purchasing the item at normal price skyrockets because in their mind the Scalper Price is the "normal" price and the MSRP becomes an incredible deal that they can't pass up given the opportunity provided they can find one.

What would be even more fucked up is if Nintendo themselves were buying their own units and reselling them under a different identity as Scalpers to bolster profits for their stakeholders. I wouldn't really be surprised at this point.

Thanks
It's just a cool collectors item

>apparently people really want the NES Classic.
Because the truth of the matter is that NES>SNES.

>Because the truth of the matter is that NES>SNES.
Objectively false. SNES had way better games than the NES had.

Objectively false. The NES had way better games than the SNES had, and had way more.

I don't recall the NES having the best Mario, Zelda, and Metroid game ever made. Along with Earthbound, Mega Man X, and some of the greatest RPGs ever made.

Earthbound is over rated, the NES is better you just can't handle it because you're an underage soy boy who needs realistic movie games

>SNES
>realistic movie games
Are you retarded?

grew up during NES era and this is the definition of a hipster opinion

the vast, vast majority of NES games were not fun and were garbage.

Why do you even want that shit? Nintenbros are the applefags of the industry.

>I don't recall the NES having the best Mario, Zelda, and Metroid game ever made.
But it does.

>Along with Earthbound, Mega Man X,
Earthbound is good and quirky, but it's nothing amazing. NES has MM1-6, which are all great games.

>and some of the greatest RPGs ever made.
Alright, sure. Now that you've run out of most of the SNES's heavy hitters, where will you go now?

I used to be like you, then my NES collection eclipsed my SNES collection and it never looked back. There's just so much goddamn variety on the NES and a lot more experimental games. The general arcade nature of NES games gives them a purity that SNES games do not have. NES games get to the meat quickly, they don't waste your time.

It’s usb powered, so you could compensate by having long usb and hdmi cords.

>Implying Mario 3 even touches World or that Zelda 1 even touches LttP
>even thinking MM 1-6 even compare to MMX
>thinking I'm out of heavy hitters
I still got fighting games, dude.

Snes also had better beat ‘em ups, fighters, and shoot ‘em ups. I do agree that nes had a ton of weird experimental games.

lol

It was a lot easier to get a SNES Mini than the NES mini. Got one on vacation on the 1st day of sale. Saw 4 at a Wally World the week before Xmas. I have yet to see a Bona fide NES Mini.

reddit.com/r/miniSNES/new/

Lol you are dumb af if you think the average person knows how to emulate

>Implying Mario 3 even touches World or that Zelda 1 even touches LttP
SMB3 shits all over World and Zelda 1 and 2 are both miles better than LttP.

>even thinking MM 1-6 even compare to MMX
They do. MMX is a great game, but two crippling flaws are the fact that you don't start with the dash (necessitating going to Chill Penguin first) and the intro stage which is boring because of the lack of the dash. MMX2 is arguably the better X game, and X3 was outsourced to Minakuchi.

>I still got fighting games, dude.
Fighting games that are better on other platforms.

>Snes also had better beat ‘em ups, fighters, and shoot ‘em ups.
See above regarding "better elsewhere." Final Fight was a bad port (that I admittedly have affection for) and SNES doesn't have anything on the level of Recca.

Not sure if bait or just retarded

>all these shit opinions

The only way you think SMB 3 and Zelda 1 or 2 are better than World and LttP is if you're actively trying to be a hipster contraion asshole.

They were good, but World and LttP are fucking perfect.

>Impying Mario 3 shits on World at all and not the other way around
>Zelda 1 and 2 are both miles better than LttP.
>thinking not having the dash is bad and that the intro stage is bad

When I was in high school I remember half the class would just be playing NES or SNES emulators on their MacBooks during class

>World
>perfect
That's fucking hilarious. The cape, Yoshi, and spin jump are all brokenly overpowered. It's a badly-designed game that was rushed for the SFC's release.

As for LttP, it started the cancer of visible bomb cracks and an increased focus on puzzles and NPC dialogue that eventually turned the series into glorified VNs that were linear pieces of shit with mind-numbing puzzles.

This, but unironically.

Jeez, you really are fucking retarded.

Why build a raspberry pi when you can just intall emulators on your toaster or laptop or whatever

>I'm a poor fag let me tell you why you're wasting $80 because that's a lot of money to me and I don't understand that other people aren't a failure at life like I am

>Went to Walmart to get some groceries last month and they just so happened to have SNES minis in stock
>Read all about how anons are struggling to find one now
Tough break, plebs.

I'm giving you reasons why World is inferior to 3 and why LttP isn't better than Z1 and 2. You're calling me retarded because you don't want to admit I'm right.

I got one and hacked it so the rest of my family including my daughter can use it. They did a really great job with hackchi

Why did Nintendo have to be such jews about the controllers for the NES/SNES Classics? I really wanted USB controllers, not this proprietary shit.

>As for LttP, it started the cancer of visible bomb cracks and an increased focus on puzzles and NPC dialogue that eventually turned the series into glorified VNs that were linear pieces of shit with mind-numbing puzzles.
Why are all the Zelda fans shit on Sup Forums? They're always constantly frustrating me with their opinions.

I don't live in the ghetto so I don't have any Walmart near me

>Buying an emulator
Holy shit you newfags need to kys

I saw one on the shelf at a best buy. I was considering buying it just because... it was there! it wasn't some image with an scalped price. I guess that's part of the marketing strategy? just make me want it cause I haven't been able to get it

Emulation is normie-tier these days grandpa.

There is no way in hell the cape, Yoshi, and the Spin Jump are overpowered, and you're just trying to be contrarian. Same with LttP. All the reasons you give are bullshit.

Dude sign up at nowinstock, i get alerts every day

The week after Christmas Best Buy had a good dozen.

Always ask behind the counters.

An emulator box is an inherently different product to the SNES or NES classic so the price comparison doesn't really make sense. $80 isn't a lot of money but that doesn't mean you should just waste it if all you want is to play emulated games.

I randomly got an NES classic and an SNES classic both completely randomly at peak demand, maybe a couple weeks before xxxmas. Just pure luck on my part I wasn't even looking for them. The NES I flipped and made a killing on because it had like three decent games on it and they hadn't been hacked yet (I should have known tho.) SNES I've still got, hacked it immediately and it's fucking rad to have all my favorite SNES games in a cool tiny super nintendo. I'll pick up an NES again if they become available for retail price at some point.

>There is no way in hell the cape, Yoshi, and the Spin Jump are overpowered
You sure about that?

The spin jump allows you to jump on obstacles you are unable to with your normal jump, just defeating the purpose of those obstacles. Yoshi allows you to do the exact same thing as the spin jump, only he's also a penalty-free hit that you can jump back on if you lose him. Then there's the numerous shell and Yoshi colors that give the already overpowered Yoshi even MORE power. The blue Yoshi in particular is retardedly broken because you get all the benefits of Yoshi in addition to flight.

Finally, there's the cape. The cape is effectively a P-Wing that you can take from level to level, and if you get hit while flying you lose your flight instead of the cape. If you lose your cape, no problem, you most likely had a feather in your magic inventory box at the top of the screen so that you can get your cape right back. It doesn't help that many of the levels in SMW are quite empty and do absolutely nothing to prevent you from flying over them. Tubular is one of the very few levels in the game that tries, and not surprisingly it's one of the most hated levels.

You could try to criticize SMB3 for allowing flight, but do remember that 3 doesn't give you long stretches of flat land to build up flight speed often, and even when it does, your flight time has a hard limit. The P-Wing is single-use and cannot be reacquired in a level if you get hit.

I reiterate: Super Mario World is a poorly-designed game that was rushed for the SFC's release.

I have all the games already on the original cartridge, most of them in the box that I bought myself brand new I don't need a stupid emulation box, I want it because it's literally just a mini SNES or NES and it looks cool that's it, I don't know why that's so hard for people to understand

Enjoy getting fleeced while intelligent gamers such as myself make informed decisions.

Unless you buy the game on the original cartridge, play it on the original console, on a CRT TV if it's a pre HD console you're not getting the authentic experience and are literally no different from "guru gamers"

is there a way to soft mod these?

(not him but) I'm happy to give either of them a pass for having some cheese items. I mean fuck, in 3 you could just warp to the last world from the second. Even then you could stockpile items from getting through the pretty easy first 5 or 6 worlds and then fly to the last world. Even in Mario 1 you could just warp to the end straight away which is way worse than any wings or capes.

I agree that Mario world had a lot of easy ways to cheese through shit like the cape and Yoshi but it didn't have a magical pipe that brought you from the first level to Bowser's castle. I also agree that SMB3 is a waaaaaay better designed game than world but they've all got their easy button and it's sort of up to the gamer to take the harder route because it's more fun.

My local target restocks at randumb for some reason

archive.is/dBBeV

JUST
EMULATE

I recently picked one up at target for the normal price. Places have been restocking on the dl

Daily reminder that Canoe emulator (the one inside the classic Snes) is way better than the one you can use with Retropie.

Emulation is for underage fags

I agree. I'm not saying the other Mario games are cheeseproof, I'm just saying that World has the most stuff that wasn't thought out properly. Even with the amount of cheesing you can do in 1, 2, and 3, you still need to legit your way through the endgame. Since World lets you replay levels, you never have to legit anything since you can always go back and get more power-ups.

There are none at Best Buy, Walmart, Gamestop, or Target within 100 miles of me

It is terribly scarce. Get on Target.com and look up that item at various zip codes. No one has it in stock.

Why does this need to be said every time?

ITS NOT. FOR. YOU.

This is for children who have never heard of emulation, let alone know how to do it. Its for parents, aunts/uncles, and grandparents looking for a good gift. Its for collectors or someone who wants all those games in one place.

If you can emulate, good for you. This is not aimed at you and Nintendo does not want your money. Okay?

Agree. SNES had much better games. There are some NES classics but it's not even close

You raspberry pi fags never know when to shut up do you? Can you understand that most people are buying the NES/SNES Classics for novelty purposes? And there's hackchi to put games on it too if someone really wants to, plus playing with official Nintendo controllers is nice.

Apparently it's also for autists, based on Sup Forums's worst tripfag leaping to its defense. Thanks for making my case.

I bet you unironically cried when Iwata died. You people are just sad.

>implying I have any fucking idea how to build a raspberry pi and make that shit happen and/or would be willing to put in the effort

Ah sorry, I agree totally actually.

I'll sell you mine for $200 USD + shipping OP :^)

>buy a board
>buy a controller
>buy a usb drive
>put lakka on the drive
>put your roms on the drive
So fucking hard! I need daddy Nintendo to take away all that hard work.

>children who have never heard of emulation
Literally fucking who
I was emulating when I was 10 in 2002, literally all my friends who were at all interested in video games at least knew what emulation fucking was even if they weren't interested in doing it themselves

Or
>buy a console
>buy a controller
>buy a game
The only games you should emulate are Japanese games that never made it to the west with English patches and even then the ideal way to play them is learn Japanese or import them anyway if they're simple enough games that you don't need to know Japanese to play them

I wanted to buy the original but I would be damned if I'd pay for the SNES classic out the ass when it wasn't going to be at a reasonable price.

Form factor is a bit more convenient/feasible for an entertainment center. Assuming you have friends, of course.

It's not way too hard unless you're a tech pleb, which admittedly can be a huge barrier.

Kids who are too young too use a computer for anything more than preschool websites, for starters.

That's pussy talk.

Yeah those kids really have lots of nostalgia for the Super Nintendo right? Wow!

I'm just glad you guys are admitting that the minis are predatory in nature, designed to wring money out of people who don't know any better.

There is literally no excuse to not play on the original hardware, unless the game is rare and expensive I can understand emulating panzer Dragoon but not super Mario bros.

Can anyone recommend me a good list of must have snes games? I just hacked my snes classic and I'm putting the games I remember were good.

It's an inferior experience. Simple as that.

Kids don't care about nostalgia. They just want more games to play. This has 21 ready to go.

Imagine you're a grandmother and you need a gift for your son's son. This would be perfect.

There were 2 sitting out at the Best Buy where I work all day. Nobody bought one.

How is playing on the original hardware inferior? That's the authentic experience

Yeah, I'm sure it'd also be great for your wife's son.

DEMON'S
FUCKING
CREST.

Also the other two Donkey Kong Countries, a few of the Final Fights, TMNT 4, Mega man x2 and 3...

I've got a SNES Classic and I'm looking to mod it. I want to put a translated Tactics Ogre ROM on it, but the only one I can find always freezes at the start of the first battle when I play it on ZSNES. How likely am I to have the same problem on the Classic?

There are only a few NES games that i've played for more than an hour at a time. These include the megaman games, zelda 1, and the mario games. SNES, on the other hand, provides so many titles that i've played and beaten many times over
>Mario World
>Yoshi's Island
>Chrono Trigger
>FF6
>FF5
>Secret of Mana
>SD3
>Earthbound
>DKC & DKC2
>Super Metroid
>MMX & X2
>ALttP
>Kirby Super Star
>Mario RPG
>Super Mario Kart
And plenty of others. I wont bother to list them all or I'll be here for a while.

Because it's inferior. You have no enhancements, no save states, no cheats, no netplay. Authentic is meaningless when we're discussing a console that can be emulated perfectly.

>he fell for the SNES Classic meme

>it's inferior because there's no save States games are too hard unless I cheat!

>less features = better
LOL

>I suck at games so I need save States otherwise I can't beat it
