I have over 2k hours in Dota 2, and I can safely say that about 50 hours was worthwhile or fun. It's a shit game with a shit community.

idk ive been having a shitload of fun with the game lately. climbed from legend 1 to legend 4 over the past week. its true the game is a gamble, but lately the gambles are constantly on my side. im getting the competent teammates and drafts. im getting the players that can speak my language and call strategies.
there's no better game to play than dota 2 when you're on a roll i feel.

Why is it that the support is always the first one to get blamed in these games? In CS:GO you usually get a lot of 14 year old baddies who spam mic but at least they can sometimes communicate. In dota, NOBODY in my region uses voice chat. And it seems like everyone wants to play the same 7-8 carry heroes over and over again because all people want to do is play chinese dota and THEN try and play hard and fast 45 mins into the game when everything is already over. I'm not a great dota player, I'll admit that. I know I'll get people calling me shit. But why is the support class always the first to blame?
People seem to think that gaining MMR should be your goal. It should not. Your goal should be to win individual games, with your MMR just being a tool of the matchmaking system you shouldn't really concern yourself with. Honestly, I think it was a mistake to make MMR visible in the first place. It just means that everyone who plays ranked treats games like a high-stakes life-or-death struggle, causing them to act like assholes.
I personally am always just looking for a 'good game'. A good game of dota can even be a losing game but god damn what fun it truly is. A few years back I was really into the solo mmr thing but shilling for mid while playing the same few characters over and over was lame. The game is about having at least one close friend to play with and navigating team politics while not being to wasted to have map awareness while last hitting and then finally not blowing late game. Anybody here want to dota up east coast?

You can break this cycle by admitting mistakes and not harp on past mistakes. Even if a game isn't running well you can start turning it around as soon as the enemy gets cocky and starts diving. Then they lose and complain about "memeback"

for instance ogre magi now has a 275 fireblast talent at 25, with octarine and the new spell damage item and aghs you can get a multicast for 3000 damage every 3 seconds
tide hunter gets a free rapier at 25 so you can build melee carry on him and annihilate most "standard" carries even in the late game etc
everyone has their own personal courier so nobody can feed it, and hardly anyone spergs out because it's "just turbo mode"
