Three Kingdoms: Fate of the Dragon
Are we going to list every game based on RotTK?
Japan's sengoku period also appreciated.
>Main places that make vidya are japan and muricca/europe
>almost all vidya is either set in modern times, or medivial europe or japan
Were SJWs right all along? If we had more chinks or spics making vidya, would we get ancient chinese or precolumbian mesoamerican vidya?
How can we encourage Mexico to make videogames so we can fuck shit up as Aztecs?
Come think of it, are there any games set in this period besides Rance?
The only thing I can think of is Shogun 2
Faith of Danschant
store.steampowered.com
This has regional lock though, but it will be released in Western market this year
youtu.be
Shogun (2 + 3 expansions) games
A billion (15, not counting expansions) Nobunaga's Ambition games.
Rance
Tenchu (9) games
Nioh
Sengoku Basara
...
There's piles and piles of that stuff.
I thought the Nobunaga games weren't translated. Have I been living under a rock?
AoE3 Has decent asia campaign and it has both japan and china. Late medieval and early renaissance.
>Three Kingdoms is regarded as history kino
>they go overboard with the sequel
every time
>stability of Jin didn't even last long
>split into a much longer time of fragmentation
>only until Sui was China reunited and even that didn't last a century until Tang took over
And yet most stories take place in Three Kingdoms or later dynasties like Tang or Qing
Where were you guys when Qin BTFO everyone in ancient china?
It's purely because of the novel. Naturally history is better when you add fucking wizards.
>Gets BTFO by the Han dynasty 14 years later
>Han dynasty lasts for 400 years
rekt
>someone recomends asian game
>it's always weeb anime waifu trash
are there any games from that period? Does it have anything interesting?
Is there any game where I build my dynasty in ancient Asia? Besides Shogun, I want something on a smaller scale, if that exists
And of course they have to go and hype up Shu, even though Liu Bei, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Ma Chao, Zhuge Liang, and Jiang Wei were utter assholes in history.
literally an entire 13-game series
en.wikipedia.org
Short answer.
A lot.
that seems cool, do you recommend it? I only own pc, my ps3 broke down
Is strange that the other most remembered chinese warring States period(and the previous Springs and autumns period) is almost absent.
I know nothing about the series besides that it exists, but there's probably at least a couple of good games for the series to have gotten so many iterations.
Ask in /eagg/ for specifics. I love them.
Half of those games are for roleplaying as single lord, where others are about being a leader of faction
i want to play xii, I have a shitty pc. I just want to rp as chinese dynasty leader and I'm shit at grand strategies
It's easier to handle three kingdoms over less than a century than seven or more kingdoms over a few centuries.
The Three Kingdoms period was relatively fast.
for RP i think 13 would be best
Prince of Qin old ass game that used to have an online version
thanks, won't be able to play it anyway
?why not
...
Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms(AD907-AD979) is the first time in human history that gives us gunpowder weapons. And combining utilization of flame thrower(Greek fire).
Pic here is the oldest portray of firearms and grenades in history, from that period.
If your toaster isnt strong enough, you could also try 11, personally I just think 13 is more comfy, even if battles are retarded and much better in earlier games
my gpu died so I had to borrow an old gt8600 from a friend, I don't think it can handle XIII. Besides XII has comfy 2D graphics
>Naked boar-head people eating live snakes
History sure was wild.
...
Liao Hua was a yellow turban who joined Shu.
One of his descendants wrote the Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
Its slanted to Shu because it was written by Shu.
Also on that list of asshole.
Liu Bei was 100% asshole, a liar, didnt give a shit about anything but himself, broke the rules of law and honour all the time to suit his needs and constantly wanted to kill good officers who he was not friends with.
Guan Yu, history sucks his dick so hard that he is a demi-god in china, a god of luck if I remember. He also broke the rules of honour when it suited him.
Zhang Fei, histories giant fuck up. Beat officers and his own men all the time till it got him killed. Was drunk all the time and could barely fight. Almost got himself killed trying to pick a fight with Lu Bu when Lu Bu was fighting a duel against Gongsun Zan.
Ma Chao, massive asshole who would beat his men, maimed them when they disobeyed him. Guy had a massive ego and chip on his shoulder.
Zhuge Liang, the romance says he was a wizard but real history he was an inventor and is credited for coming up with a primitive air balloon which he used to map the weather at the battle of Chi Bi. Decently talented man lead by donkeys but in the end he is second rate to Sima Yi.
Jiang Wei, Zhuge bet it all on him and he fucked up everything. Partially not his fault since Liu Chan would constantly demand his presence in the capital and him pulling his army back all the time bankrupted them and cost them tons of food.
Zhao Yun, he did tons of hard work but most people remember him for the whole Liu Chan thing which is way overblown. Zhao Yun was actually not well liked by the in crowd and Guan Yu pitched a fit to Zhuge when Zhuge wanted to make him one of the 5 tigers.
I'm surprised nobody mention this, yet.
Oriental Empires
store.steampowered.com
ROTK 13 is out on PC from Steam.
They just release an expansion pack last year.
Tons of Asians downvoted the game because of having to pay for the expansion that also helped fixed their version of the game due to some small bugs, the Chinks whinge about everything.
Game is like 7, 8 and 10 you can control officers and stuff like that but the AI has a certain way of pushing you into being the viceroy to rule half of the other cities but that was toned down in the XP. Still just having to say no fuck off like every 6 months is annoying.
Also there is Nobunaga's Ambition which had a stand alone 2nd version out on steam that also allows for playing officers, in that one though you rule a fiefdom and its up to you to answer your lords call, or you can just refuse all the time and then turn on them or sell them out.
Because that game is fucking dogshit bad user.
Its about spamming cities Civ 6 style along with combat that they took from Vandal Hearts 2.
Its about wild guesses at where they will go so you spend like 10 turns chasing someone and guessing where their army will go before finally attacking them and making them lose like 10 soldiers before they run off.
Took stuff from Total War and Civ and made a sad game, which in itself is sad because it made by people from the Medieval 2 team.
delete this
Are there any tycoon style games about that? Already downloading RotTK12 but I want more
>You will never make your waifu so angry they die
feels bad man
I played 12 on radeon 4550hd, so it will be safe bet for you
>Liao Hua was a yellow turban who joined Shu.
>One of his descendants wrote the Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
And you know the irony? Instead of Laio Hua for DW9 they pick a person who doesn't exist.
Jade Empire
Zhou Cang?
I always acquainted that character as a self insert for Luo Guangzhong or whatever his fucking name is.
Especially when you learn that he ships that character as a total friend of Zhou Cang and he is super duper good and swimming.
Literally 200AD fan-fiction.
Anyone reading Kingdom? I hope they don't go by real history and Qin bootyblasts Zhao and the smug faggot Riboku.
I want another Sengoku Rance! what's the point of conquering land if you don't rape!!
Paradox x Alisoft collaboration fucking when?
Where's my rape filled grand strategy REEEEEEEE
There was a world conquer game released on JAST recently but thats if all the famous people of the world were women and you fucked them all.
>Sengoku
>>>>>>>ancient
Zhou Cang was made up.
Liao Hua actually existed and was with Shu from creation until its fall.
>tfw I watched Sengokuchojyugiga, Nobunaga no Shinobi and Nobunaga Concerto anime and Nobunaga no Chef and Nobunaga Concerto dramas and still I want more Nobunaga
Yeah that is what I meant user you must have misunderstood what I meant.
I was saying Zhou Cang as if to say of you are talking about that character since he is made up and I didn't know he was being added to the new DW game.
thanks user, I totally forgot about that game, it was buried on my backlog
Eiyuu * Senki?
yeah, that's the game he's talking about.
Oh, then yes, he is being added.
koei.wikia.com
You can't just say that shit and not say the name of the game man
I mean technically Europa Universalis 4 lets you play out a pretty significant portion of East Asian history if you want
Its
Its an ok game and unlike Sengoku Rance you can fucking take your time and don't have to do the same 20 moves at the start to get Fan 3 ASAP.
>kill peasants/monks who actively fought against you
>actively vilified by later "historians"
Cao Cao and Oda Nobunaga did nothing wrong.
>You will never get a Hack and Slash set in Pre-Colonial Congo where you go on an insane rampage murdering other Tribesman, Animals and Folk Gods
Shit I'd even settle for a CoD set in the Liberian Civil war. If they want black people in vidya why not do it properly?
>If we had more chinks
Just because you don't know that does not mean it does not exist. There are literally fucking loads of chink games based on ancient china/historical china. There are even cartoons, dramas and probably even manga/comics.
>south american
They exist too but not as much.
>Cao Cao did nothing wrong
Yeah, he died.
Cao Cao and Oda Nobunaga, bros 4 lyfe.
Really, though. Are there any records of Nobunaga actually reading the book? It was definitely already in print during his life and the similarities with Sou Sou are sometimes pretty unnerving.
>Shit I'd even settle for a CoD set in the Liberian Civil war. If they want black people in vidya why not do it properly?
Do the Kabarebe Blitz instead.
How far back can we go with ancient historical games?
Would late neolithic civilizations be interesting enough?
Tons of Alexander the gr8 games
But that's like, way post bronze age.
We need to go back further
We don't know shit about them is the problem.
We go as far as it gets. In case of local history, that's Sumer or early Egypt.
...
Not really.
But both were nobles who started from comparatively small power bases, to being the major power behind the titular heads. Later historians who supported the underdogs had every reason to discredit them.
