What are some actuallly good "sandbox" games with unique, interesting worlds?
pic unrelated of course
None. They don't exist.
>inb4 faggots ITT don't understand the difference between open world and sandbox
Technically, minecraft was unique at one point but i dont know about interesting.
Define 'sandbox' since EVE, Factorio and the plethora of town simulators could count depending on the definition.
I don't, I thought it's the same thing.
Have you seen my ring?
Kenshi
Sandbox game set in a post-apocalyptic desert type area that's more japan-flavored than fallout. By "Japan" I mean feudal japan not anime here.
A legit answer? in Sup Forums? This is weird
It's still a bit rough, even after almost five years of development. I still love the game, but the developers were more ambitious than they could deliver. Still, it's not a crowded genre, so Kenshi is a standout.

EVE Online
Tropico 4
eve online has really interesting lore and backstory and pretty neat aesthetic, i just wish CCP wasnt a bunch of absolute morons and would actually develop the game world beyond its narrow submarine game. they keep funding shit games instead of investing in eve and cancelling any major expansions to ambulation or FPS modules for the game
