Why are nintendo games so popular with speedrunners?

why are nintendo games so popular with speedrunners?

Because they are really well-designed games with tight controls, and of course the """"""""""nostalgia"""""""" and kind clasic style they give

Because they are the easiest to exploit

They're fun, challenging, and you don't often have to sift through boring tutorials and other bloat of modern games.

Because Nintendo caters to children and manchildren.

ughh wtf is this?

>why are nintendo games so popular with speedrunners?

One difficulty, well designed levels/areas/zones and simple but tight controls

Its a speedrunners dream

the soyboy hive. soon everyone in that pic will be a tranny

Not as many cutscenes.

>not many

but zelda has unskippable scenes.

But the one the right speed ran a ps4 game too.

Its because Autists love Nintendo and Autists love speedrunning

Because they're linear, deterministic and easy

This.

what happened?

Because they're designed for children so they're fuckall easy, and old vidha games without saves were designed to be beaten in one sitting, so a game designed for a child to beat in one sitting = very short fucking game = speedrun

t. 12 yo.

Zelda is pretty long game.

Still made to be beaten in one sitting

they probably would've just played mario and zelda 400 times in a row anyway because they don't know how to engage in communities to actually discuss other games. nintendo games are safe and accessible; they're what everyone played 10-20 years ago. speed runners are replaying the few decent moments of their otherwise disastrous childhood, but "legitimized" through a meaningless world record and twitch streaming

if they wanted new experiences they wouldn't have gotten into speed running

What else are you going to do with them? Boring end game collectathons?

play it normally or move on with other games.

every game can be beaten in a day user.

This, in terms of speed running it's all about linearity objective accomplishments. Nintendo games are very straight forward and generally are easier to exploit the gameplay mechanics to simplify pathing.

Nostalgia. People are going to want to spend large amounts of time on a game they like and have investment in, and it is easier to do that with a game you're familiar with from childhood.

autism

>fun
Only if you are manchild
>challenging
You are fucking kidding?

You can avoid most of them in speedrund though.
