This is a port of the mobile version lol. The mobile version was still pretty good though, just a little fucky when it came to controlling Beat and Joshua. Everything else was pretty good though, art looked better and the music sounded better. I liked it

With how surprising this already is out of nowhere maybe they're thinking about it finally. Wouldn't be the slowest sequel created if it does well there's at least some chance.

there are two "zones", and to kill a noise, you need to kill its form in both zones
it's why people who don't find a partner die immediately, since they don't have anyone to kill the second form of the noise in the second zone

those "zones" were never explained so it isn´t necessarily lore breaking

I played both the DS and iOS version, and the story is still fine. They only added that plot point because they needed a way to explain why characters fight on different screens, because they only did it to make a unique DS mechanic.

You can take out that plot point and just say "You need a partner or else you'll die because the link between two people makes you stronger" or some shit and the story would be the same.

fair enough i suppose. i still feel like the definitive version of the game would be on the DS, that dual screen combat shit is like nothing else i've played, especially on high difficulties.

just because they're visually represented on the same screen doesn't necessarily mean they're in the same place i guess, but the story is a lot neater in the DS version.

No it doesn't. Part of what makes the first game so great is how you learn the gameplay along with Neku learning to connect. It's weird and awkward at first controlling 2 screens at once and you are likely to just start the game playing on auto mode but as Neku learns the importance of being with people as the game goes on, you too learn the importance of using both screens and ultimately are more effective then you ever were focusing on only one.

All of this gets robbed as soon as you stick it to one screen.

How couldn't it? You just control Neku with right stick + buttons and the partner is just controlled by dpad. People keep saying it'll be like the mobile port but that only had one a touchscreen
