There are no full games for it yet. Just shooting galeries and tech demos.

Wait until someone releases an actual game for VR.

>shit resolution
>wires
>full body & facial expression tracking is bound to come eventually
>costs more than a bazillion games
>can only play a handful of okay games with it
>shit refresh rate, will make you motion sick

>> 403022368
False since like 1 year, there are not many real games (around 30 'd say) but some are really good and justify buying one

Invest in VR like you would invest in a game console / PC, if you would pay for a console 700$ then it's ok to pay 700$ for VR

If you can't afford it yet, there are only good side about waiting, the tech is getting better every years and older gen will get cheaper

Other than CM32 and Waifu sex simulator what other VR porn games are there?

>Buying PSVR
>Wireless addons already planned
>Already a thing with vive and sensors
>$400 is a lot
>What is Async timewarp and spacewarp
>Playing VR games with a shit PC

Depends on your tastes and to what degree you are troubled with motion sickness (in some games). Then there's the porn. Oh good lord there is the porn.

Robo recall is probably the most fun I've had with video games in a long time.
That said, it probably isn't worth 400 dollars.

if you're going to get VR, go all in and get the best one (i.e. the Vive)

I hate to talk you into it, but I've been having so much fun with my Oculus Rift. It really is worth the plunge.

I'm not sure why people say it has no 'real' games, as if they can define what a real game is.

>best
>shittier controllers than the oculus
>shittier resolution
what

It's probably worth it for Flight Sims

fyi there are drivers you can buy (or pirate if you can find them) to make most games work with it.

vive PRO says hello

>want to hop on the VR bandwagon
>almost thew up on every VR ride I tried at Epcot, even the toned down ones
What’s the best rope to buy to hang myself with, Sup Forums?

You need sunglasses user, and a PC that can run games at 90FPS.

>vr headset so shitty they had to redesign it to compete with a headset that costs half as much
my fucking sides

The fuck are you talking about.

> better tracking
> don't give money to facebook

???
I’ve already got a powerhouse PC, but what do you mean by sunglasses?

>implying giving money to valve is better
>any tracking issue can be fixed by a 3rd sensor which still makes it cost less than the vive
>still have worse controls than oculus

he means try vr while wearing sunglasses you daft cunt

try another demo besides the rides, honestly the rides fucked with me as well but other games were great

Glasses*
Sorry, chrome autocorrect.

I bought one a few months ago and sold it a week ago. It is fun, and a really cool experience. But, as many people have said, the resolution is not that great, but is manageable. If you are watching videos of people play, what you see them playing is not what you would see. Wait until more games come out. It is not worth the price tag, yet, but it will be down the road. If you do have money to throw, get it. Also get a third sensor to put behind you and put them high up on the walls.

I'm going to wait 4+ years until it really starts getting good, then i might buy one

As a recent HTC Vive buyer what I can say is the following:
>Illusion is perfect.
>Comfort is decent.
>Resolution needs to be improved.
>Gameplay is unlike anything.
>Multiplayer games feel like the early days of online gaming when everyone has a mic and is having fun.
>There is no killer app right now.
>Motion sickness is real.
>Real porn VR videos are 6GB and it's really good
>3D Porn real-time experiences are one step above it's just insane.
>Don't event think about playing non-native games in VR like Half-life for example, immersion is awesome but gameplay is awful

It's only a waste of money if you don't know what you're in for. Virtual reality is real, when you put the headset on you're out of this world, it feels like a dream.

Wait for the new Vive Pro headset. If your going to spend a ton of money on a headset, you may as well go all out and get the best one.

it gives a new meaning to all your games

>buying a shitty heavy gimmick for ¨$399

oculus rift and a third sensor for roomscale costs less than a switch with mario and zelda, and there's a handful of good free games like echo arena and robo recall that come with it on top of games like pavlov and onward costing less than 20 bucks.

>It's probably worth it for Flight Sims
theres hardly any flight sims for it.

this shit triggers me, don't even have a psvr but pretty sure that it's doing way too well and vr in general is actually getting bigger.

enfantsrichesdeprimes.com/products/cashmere-noose

>the best one
You mean the Samsung Odyssey which is already available, HTCshill-kun?

VR peaked a week and a half ago.

It's literally in freefall decline already.

This will make an excellent addition to my living room, thank you user.

On another note, what’s Sup Forums‘s opinion on LA Noire VR? Did it transition well?

>source: my ass

using it to practice talking to girls in VR chat

it will pay for itself when I get a gf

>Buyers remorse: (you)

RE7, Skyrim,Fallout 4?

I actually got one less than a week ago, the gameplay is amazing. Get one with Touch though, not worth it otherwise since the image quality is pretty bad and 3D by itself isn't such a big deal. It's the high-accuracy tracked controllers which make the gameplay. Serious Sam with Touch is amazing fun, if you're lucky enough for your brain to not fuck you over. I haven't had as much pure fun with a game in years, fucking nothing compares to running around full speed blasting hordes of monsters with dual wielded, motion-tracked weapons.

I wish I knew an easier way to record VR footage for webms. Shadowplay is fine but having to hit keyboard hotkeys is too annoying with the headset on to do on a regular basis.

Pretty much all Croteam games are available, so the entire Serious Sam series and Talos Principle. The ports are really great too, they run perfectly smooth and have all the VR options you could want, from teleporting to full-on movement like the normal versions. Doom 3 BFG also has an excellent VR mod, which is at times slightly unstable but is the full campaign and the VR mechanics are spot on.

Even 2 sensor setup works decently well. My 3rd sensor hasn't arrived yet and I've got my 2 sensors placed in a diagonal, about 4.1m from one another and high up. One is at about 2.5m, the other around 2.1m. Play area is about 3x2m and I have never lost controller tracking in anything I played, but the headset tracking is a bit worse (occasional slight wobble) than it is with both sensors on my desk.

basically if you have to save up money for VR, then it's not for you
the hardware updates constantly and it's insanely expensive every time
there's no point in buying one if you can't cash out 1000$ to 2000$ on it every 8 months

Serious Sam TFE, TSE, and BFE can all be played in VR with full range of movement and added dual wielding that completely breaks the game balance.

How do you know VR is in freefall decline?

I think he said VR-ONLY full game
You can play those without VR

youtube.com/watch?v=hKBA8ypn5-M

>semi auto double barrel
I can only imagine that completely trivializes large Kleer hordes.

How is this proof in any way? Are you dead from the neck up?

Only buy VR if any of the following applies to you.

>You are a retard with more money than sense.
>You want to develop programs or games for the medium.
>You are a heavy enthusist / autist who enjoy's playtesting new shit and watching things evolve as people make improvements.
Look at the level of quality the first 'pong' had, in terms of capability and game mechanics in comparison to modern day.
VR at the moment is only just past that, but is steadily improving.

Just like playStation camera & Kinect? Lol

>It has VR in the name therefore veryone that plays it must have a VR headset.
A reasonable assumption but proves you're an idiot who doesnt know what he's talking about.
It has a desktop mode for mouse and keyboard, that's what most of the kids driving that meme into the ground are using.

You're the one who seemingly needs everything spelled out for them, kiddo.

>claim VR is becoming less popular
>here's a video that doesn't back up the claim
Should you be at school, kid?

>recent HTC Vive
>Vive Pro just announced at CES
kek

i spent a few months working at a VR arcade in Charleston SC

we used only Vives and literally only had Superhot VR and a german game called Tower Tag with 6 player pvp on a lan server we hosted locally.

even with that and fucking around steam home, shits not a gimmick man, we're just in that nintendo 64 "we're still experimenting with this shit" age. shits amazing now but the games lack depth, give that a year or two though and that shit will change.

also at this point just wait for the vive pro.

did they go out of business?

rides type "experiences" and sitting VR cause the most motion sickness. ive noticed compared to roomscale, where you're actually walking around with your body, you adjust to it WAY easier

>we're just in that nintendo 64 "we're still experimenting with this shit" age
So where's the VR equivalent of Super Mario 64 then?

>i bought a rift and really regret it
>B-BUT user, YOU CAN BUY THIRD PARTY LIGHT HOUSES FOR THE RIFT, THEY'RE ONLY 80 BUCKS

DK1 was 5 years ago. I'm not saying it won't happen eventually, but there's been ample time for a killer app to be developed. Maybe Budget Cuts will finally come out.

>>shittier resolution
Vive CV1 and Rift CV1 are the same resolution retard. Vive has higher FOV tho.

>windows mixed reality

you're genuinely better off with a galaxy gear

Wait a few years until the technology gets better and some interesting games come out. The price would have dropped significantly by then.

While the ammo lasts, you're absolutely right. But it doesn't last long, it won't get you through even a quarter of a really huge Kleer horde.

Idk man.

>403030274

they're closing in feb because the owner was one of those fucks who wanted to do the fucking plank walk experience type shit when all of our repeat customers were coming to play more superhot... honestly it was sad and i was offering to pay out of pocket for a license for raw data (which is 70 fucking bucks a month times 2 because you want that co op motherfucker)

>Vive is $600
>Rift + the extra sensor + better controllers is $480 for the same experience
So you want to spend an extra $120 for no reason?

honestly? superhot i put in some fucking time on that game when the building was empty or when i got to close

>Vive has higher FOV tho.
Vive and rift have the same FOV retard

i meant to reply to

Not to mention rift comes with 6 games, one of them being the best VR game you can buy.

objectively wrong.

I feel like I'd puke in a matter of minutes

The best genres for VR are flying and racing.

Resolution is really poor for flight sims.

Vive has far superior tracking technology. IR laser-pulse compared to simple IR cameras is a big difference.

Both have FoV of 110 degrees.

They both have 110 degree fov.

this is some plebbit shit if I've ever seen any

Objectively inferior controllers though.

It's good if you're a racing simulator autist like me. Just tried out VIVE at friends house. Pretty cool. Got a bit drowsy after 30mins but he said it wears off.

It's alright, valve knuckles controllers are coming soon.

>paying even more for the same experience

those lighthouses are what the kinect dreams about

wrong

and here i thought i'm the only one experiencing drowsiness in vr. I almost fell asleep while playing Dirt Rally, twas too comfy and the rain sound didn't helped at all along with the wiper sound.

I'd get one because I'm simracing fag and it can be cheaper than a multimonitor setup. Don't see much use nowadays other than that

How is PSVR for people with glasses?
I was going to get it when AC7 came out but I'm worried my glasses will hinder my ability to actually use it

the nice thing is at least you can use the wireless adapter and the fucking 32 feet by 32 feet lighthouses on the gen 1 vive

no games gimmick where the novelty wears off after 30 minutes

digitaltrends.com/virtual-reality/oculus-rift-vs-htc-vive/

Now that the Vive Pro was announced, how with Oculus respond?
Are they gonna work on a 1.5 version like Vive, or a second generation headset?

t. never used Vive or Rift

Where's that user that posts the huge list of VR games.

Also, it might've been the fact I stood up fast but I felt a bit light-headed and my phones screen looked odd and I couldn't focus my eyes on it for like 5 sec.

There's no way to legitimately deal with VR-Face except by limiting your sessions to less than 30 minutes at a time. It's annoyingly uncomfortable. It also looks ridiculous, so you can't play for extended periods of time if you're gonna go out later.

That's really the only reason. Aside from that one minor drawback, VR is worth the money.

By the specs sheet, both headsets also offer a 110-degree field of view (FOV), though in actual usage there’s a lot of subjective evidence (and some slightly more scientific) to suggest that the Vive offers a slightly wider and certainly taller field of view.

hurr durr

Wait a few years for the technology to develop

>literally put two monitors inches from your eyes
you have to expect an adjustment period

not yelling at (you) when i say this but
i cant understand Sup Forums. the moment you have to actually take the time to get acclimated to something you fucking start pissing your pants and caps locking REEEE

PSVR has the best, most comfortable design. I have glasses and it's no problem at all.
