Here's something about Fallout 4 that doesnt make sense to me. You're a veteran soldier in a HIGHLY militarized and nationalist society, and apparently still believe all of that since you're going to give a speech at this American Legion type place. Despite that your character never talks about America, or the war, isnt racist to chinese, doesn't even seem to really care about what happened despite it being a fresh memory due to cryo freezing.

Yes but it's not as bad, you can still create a custom character in 3, the only bad thing is that you have to look for your dad. But looking for your dad is not as hard to ignore as looking for your kidnapped baby.

Your background can be anything, that doesn't matter. In 4 you are forced to play Nate, the predefined character that Bethesda made for you.

This is the best one for now. Apparently alt start mods are a real bitch to make for 4 since all dialog is voiced.

is there a mod that makes the game remotely interesting? For all the shit Fallout 3 gets it at least had some little information and tidbits to find in terminals and stuff. In Fallout 4 every terminal either opens a safe, turns off turrets, or both.

I'm pretty sure the player character is pretty much painted as an "old soldier" archetype so it's not hard to believe he'd be quick to let go of the past

Scratch that last part, you can literally ignore the main quest and the hole revenge seeking thing if you want. Thus the beauty of New Vegas.
