Transistor kinda does this, but its not the protags rival and rather than tiring out the player and BEG both become unable to cast certain abilities when they take damage. Its a really good game and worth trying out, Its only like 20 bucks.

>Early game boss becomes common enemy late game

>game has orchestral OST
>final boss theme is blazing guitar riffs and vocals

>game has rock OST
>final boss theme is orchestral masterpiece

>sequel lets you visit areas from the first game that have been drastically changed

>your base/home/hub is captured by enemies and you have to fight it back

>do this in the 1st game and it's cool
>use the same level for the last level of the 2nd game

>infighting and banter between party members
Even better.

>enemy uses a potion as well

>Letimoff of all charactes are pretty similar
>Main theme gets mixed into many other songs
>Letimoff is a mix of the main theme
