60 fps, anything lower is unplayable.

60fps and playing in the comfort of my own home

Seeing as the vast majority of people who have played Dark Souls didn't mod it to run at 60 fps and enjoyed it anyway, framerate isn't a huge deal in the game.

both are equally important for different reasons

If I'm on a plane/train and will be for the next 4-6 hours and I want to play an actual video game and not some gay mobile shit, I will take 30FPS Dark Souls over Angry birds any day.

However if I am at home and wanting to relax on my couch I will take 60fps.

If you actually care that much about 60fps in your games, you already have the PC version and wouldn't need to buy this. Portability is something that you can't get elsewhere.

But dark souls runs at 30fps everywhere, even on pc. You have to mod in 60 fps.

60FPS

60 FPS
>using portability as an argument when you don't bing bing out of your home

30 FPS is fine as long as they can keep it stable during Blighttown/online play

That being said, I'll be getting it for PS4 because the Switch doesn't have native streaming capability despite being released in 2017

For Dark Souls? 60 FPS.

I'm hoping that they find a way to do 60 FPS and portability with the Switch, but I doubt that is going to happen.

>tfw just came from console gaming to PC
>finally understand the 1080p 60fps meme
>I will never be able to go back
ignorance is bliss

30 fps on a handheld with a small screen is fine as long as its actually 30fps and not 20-30.

An important part of the Dark Souls experience is online so who fucking cares if I can bring it with me everywhere?

...

>streaming
Lmao, PS4 really is the console for the Twitch generation.

I'll never understand the portability meme

Frame rate easily

>portability
the switch in handheld mode is the most cumbersome, least comfortable "handheld" i've ever played a game on. It's hard to grip, hard to effectively use the d-pad as a d-pad, especially if you need to use it while making use of the triggers, and it was clearly designed for 12-year-old hands.

no user, I played Souls 1 on pc with 22-23 fps. Didn´t even knew that until I enabled fucking steam fps counter. You will just get used to it.

Not really expecting anyone to watch me and my friends get drunk and speedrun the gargoyle fight. We just want to do it for fun.

portability. graphics/fps demand are what killed gaming in the first place

Playing on the shitter > 60fps

>we're all getting drunk bro!!!

Dark Souls is truly casual now. Let's all just get drunk and Mario Kart! I'll bring the Switch broooo

Why can't we have both? I don't care if the game looks worse, 30fps sucks.

Does the Switch play any games in 60FPS undocked that isn't sprite-based?

60

>graphics/fps demand are what killed gaming in the first place
But that's wrong?

The push for better visuals meant frame rates took a hit too. Higher frame rate now usually means the game isn't going to look as good as a game that says "fuck it" and goes to 30fps with costant drops in favor of nicer visuals. Just about any game can run at 60fps on any piece of hardware, the push for visuals means lots of games now target 30 instead of 60. Targeting 60fps usually results in the game not having the best visuals.

streaming is gay but darksouls while drinking with a friend is fun. Passing the controller and drinking when you die is great. You should make a friend and try it.

It's just weird man. When I hang out with my friends, I don't have to say that we're drinking too.

Usually feels juvenile that you have to announce it.

Same, when I'm not home gaming I'm usually too busy to game

>portability
Why would I want this? When I am outside I am too busy to play with toys.

Public transport poor people probably

in this case it matters that they stick to their original engine and put some updated textures or whatever
don't even fix lost izalith, don't change shit

>Not going from bro to bro's house and playing games together

I find 30 perfectly fine when using a controller, but I couldn't care less about portability, so 60fps.

>they don't already own the same consoles as you

Are your friends poor?

60 FPS I prefer lighter games like RPGs when it comes to portability.

Yes

>Playing on the same TV instead of LAN party

God I miss halo 3 lan parties 16 people over my place was so fucking good

And then you woke up

I know

I don't really care between 60fps and 30fps, I just want it stable
Unless I see them running side by side he difference isn't that big to me

New content

>Didn´t even knew that
Well that's probably because you're retarded.

LIFE

>60 FPS
144 MINIMUM

60 FPS, i'm sure most if not all of us spend more time playing on a home setup than a portable system.

The same people who say Dark Souls is unplayable at 30FPS played Bloodborne at 22FPS and called it the best game ever made

Stability. If I was forced to pick between those two though, probably 60fps. I think there are way more important things to be addressed before giving a fuck about 60fps though.

You get used to 30fps again within an hour of playing with it. Found this out when I booted up bloodborne for the first time.

A good game, which Dark Souls 1 isn't.

>tfw just came from console gaming to PC

You must be really young to have never played consoles when 60fps on them was the norm.

Switch port confirmed being done by some Chinese studio.

Enjoy your shit port.

Dark Souls is a 30 fps game. Almost all of the fanbase only ever played it at that with the massive drops.

>portability

But this isn't tetris or some match three game. What are you, a child?

Probably going to buy the switch version for my journey into work and get that delicious 50% off PC version for weekends.

/thread

Portable sounds fun. I thoroughly enjoy many games sub-60 FPS. That being said, I'd rather have this on a PSQuad than own a Switch.

>Thinking the chinks won't do a better job than From

topkek, From doesn't know how to optimize shit. Anyone who does modding and has tinkered around in the games code knows that Dark Souls's engine and code in general is made of fucking spaghetti. It's full of complete retard shit and nonsense.

DaS2 technically speaking engine wise and file system wise was light years away from it. Ironically they went back to DaS1 engine for 3, and thus DaS3 is 30fps on PS4 yet DaS2 is 60 and looks nearly as good, it's just got shitter animations.

A chink studio working with from's shitty code might actually salvage the shit if they know what they're doing.

60 FPS, I don't play video games outside of my house.

Dark Souls is meant to be played online, portability is irrelevant.

It wouldn't be out of the house for me. Laying on the couch playing Dark Souls portable and watching Berserk again for ambience sounds fun.

>playing Blighttown without a framerate so bad it's on the verge of just giving up

I actually don't know if it will be the same, like it kinda added to the whole ordeal

Haha right. This just shows the Switch version went to the lowest bidder since they can just pull the portability card after delivering a shit job. And Switch owners will still eat it up.

Man these publishers must be two hand jerking it to the prospect of making all this money on low effort, last gen ports to the Switch.

Portability is a fucking meme with dark souls. Enjoy your 2 hour battery life thanks to constant invasions.

you see I can play some games at lower than 60fps.
Dark souls is not one of thoughts games.

60fps is obviously better but don't pretend that 30fps is unplayable. as long as it's smooth and stable, it's perfectly playable.
