Not this shit again.
I cant handle this rollercoaster
Not this shit again.
I cant handle this rollercoaster
That's called uneven numbers you fucking tard.
>Nintendo direct was so terrible that the direct hype wasnt even satisfied for a day
Jesus.
>Mini
Also no it wasnt good enough.
>No online services detailed
>Nothing on fire emblem
>Dlc for existing games not shown off or mentioned
>Tons of upcoming 3rd party games not shown, dated or mentioned
The Japanese website doesn't display every direct like the English one. They trim directs off the end as new ones are added. It's always even unless they trimmed one recently.
Notice how the lowest direct is from 2016
Previous mini directs led to normal sized directs after, approximately, 3 weeks.
Maybe this will be the case again?
Each Direct Mini has always been followed by a "standard" Direct within 20 days
reddit.com
It's happening lads.
Hopefully that's the case
please no
I just got off the wild ride
>linking to reddit
I hope there's more. Nothing on FE when it's a 2018 title? Cmon IS
It’s a Fire Emblem direct. The mini-direct today is just to get the other announcement out of the way (which is a very smart move from Nintendo, frankly).
Here we fucking go
Have we been rused?
Who's next?
Mario maker, it's the obvious choice to sell the online.
Wonderful 101.(Pic related).
Also I think Xenoblade X will eventually make it's way on the Switch, but not now since it might interfere with the sale of Xenoblade 2.
101 and Xeno X.
Maybe Smash 4. But I think that's about it for WiiU ports.
Maybe the HD Zelda's in a few years.
Mario Maker (and Smash) at E3.
XCX and 3DW+CT around Winter.
TMS and w101 at some point next year to wrap it up.
Xeno X, Toad Treasure Tracker, and I think the W101 twitter teased something recently?
Mario Maker, Xeno and Smash are almost a given imo. I'd like to see 3D World, too.
When was the last case of this? Where a full direct was out after a mini. Was it exactly three weeks? I don't think I can fucking handle that wait.
The Nex Direct will be dedicated to 3DS but it will be Very Short
Screencap This
I didn't get w101 on wii u so I hope that's next. Would also like to see XCX with a finished story but it's not going to happen.
Hype
I hope this doesn't imply that you think splatoon 2 and the switch tennis game were ports
the max time was 20 days
the minimum was 1 day
It seems to have a pretty high variance
Something big is coming.
There HAS to be another full direct to detail Nintendo Online. Simple as.
Just want to point out a slight error on this one, there was no mini direct in 2016, wikipedia (which that list seems to be based off of) mislabels the AC direct as a mini even though it's not called that on any of Nintendo's sites
It happened in 2012, 2013, and 2015 but that was called Micro and was followed up by their shitty E3 event that year
More like replacements making the previous game obsolete.
So a sequel
The hype train rolls on
We just had the mini direct today.
Nintendo, I haven't even fully gotten off the fucking train yet
ugghhh my dicc
I was thinking the same thing.
Also, while I think Nintendo's first half of 2018 is pretty solid, there is no way they are moving 20 million units this fiscal year unless we get something BIG in the second half.
Sequels don't always necessarily make the previous game obsolete though.
The average is about ten, so don't have a stroke, friend. You'll miss the direct if you do!
So a bunch of nothing and dark souls. What the fuck do I do with my switch?
I know for sure that an empty slot appearing on NoJ's website has been a 100% reliable tell that a direct was upcoming. NoJ's site has been known to update right before it happens, or a week or two before.
It could come any time.
Shove it up your ass
I beat botw and mario. Anything else good or is everyone hyping the switch up for no reason?
wait another one? what the fuck?
just give me my gamecube vc and no one gets hurt
Xenoblade X
Mario Maker
Wonderful 101
3D World
everything else gets left behind
most strange thing about this direct was not a single word about bayonetta 1+2.
Get Splatoon 2 if you enjoy fun
They'll talk about it in the real direct within 20 days
What new is there to be said about them?
Exciting.
I have it already. Maybe that Xenogears games i guess. Switch kinda sucks bro.
Mario + Rabbids
>ALWAYS a Direct after the financial briefing
>Briefing is 3 weeks away (31st Jan)
It checks out, lads.
When is the first XBC 2 major DLC slated to release? When they started showing shit from that they'll probably announce XBX coming to switch as well.
>Dlc for existing games not shown off or mentioned
>what is mario rabbids
>being mad at reddit in twenty eightneen
OH SHIT NIGGA LET'S GET THE LIVE STREAM STARTED MY BOYS
...
Mario Maker will get a DX version
Wonderful 101, Xenoblade X, and Smash are all possible
Everything else stays
I don't mean to alarm you anons, but wasn't Pokemon's YouTube channel showing an upcoming broadcast alongside NoJ...
that's just some dumb pokemon tournament
>1 day
>12 is the anniversary of the first Switch presentation
GUYS
...
Wonderful 101 is the only one that matters from there, Smash won't' get a port.
>gets 100$ for saying joy con boyz and nigga
Wish that was me desu
I really don't think it'll be tomorrow.
I won't complain if it is.
In all seriousness, I'm just going to assume it's on the 31st/1st and try to forget about it until then
Expect a distraction around the date of Monster Hunter World?
Why don't they just present it all at once?
If they present less popular things first and give a window for people to pay attention for it, then release something big, the little things are less likely to get swept away out of mindshare. That's my theory anyway.
to meme on you
>the thoughtful Sup Forums analysis exists.
Give the little shit its own spotlight so it doesn't get blasted away by hype for something big, I imagine.
>There's still more
Give it to me reggie, I need the full dosage
but it went up for pre-purchase on the eshop today, strangely enough.
There's really not much to say about it. I'm just waiting for the Digital Foundry video on it (need a smooth 60fps on Bayonetta 1 after years of playing on ps3
>dark souls
>less popular
the actual fuck are they gonna show in the main direct? they are literally gonna have to straight up dump pokemon or some gigantic shit to outdo that.
won't be on the 31st, that's when their investors' meeting is.
Will either be within the next 2 weeks, or deep into February
Oh yeah, I'd forgotten about the investor's meeting. Don't they kinda wanna show off some stuff to make their investors happy before the meeting?
Post YFW it's a reveal of the Switch Pokemon game being the Gen 8 Pokemon game and also revealing starters, making /vp/ burst into flames with just one video.
Well yeah, it was nothing but ports.
Port X, #FE and TW101 and I'll only keep my Wii U because I like having an HDMI Wii
Japanese site only list the last 16 directs, every time there is going to be a new one they remove the oldest
theres the fact someone pointed out earlier in the thread that tomorrow is the anneversary of the switch being shown, so there might be a fuckheug one detailing with the shit for the year tomorrow.
Well, it is a remaster advailable on all consoles. Even then it was the "big" surprise of the end so there is definitely more.
I am so glad I waited for the switch and didn't buy a wii u.
most likely, its also the fact people have been basically begging for portable dark souls for a fucking long time so its probably gonna sell rather well i think.
Nintendo knows damn well how much their boys love Smash. It's imminent at this point.
they don't care about anniversaries. never have, never will. it doesn't make sense from a marketing perspective, people aren't emotionally attached to the date of the switch being shown.
there's gonna be another direct, but probably around the 22nd or so. before the investors meeting, but soon enough to put some dates out for games we know are coming within the next few months and detail stuff like xeno 2 dlc that we know has to be coming soon.
dark souls is a nice 3rd party get, but if you think it compares to even something like a fire emblem game in terms of nintendo fans, you're deluding yourself. it's a minor announcement on a nintendo system.
doesnt matter you already gave nintendo money
Have they done same-day direct annoucements? I know minis are typically just dumped with no announcement... but have they ever announced a regular direct under 24h when it airs?
It's also already the 12th in Japan
Hopefully XCX.
they've done next day shit before:
so its definitely not out of the question.
A port would be strange for Smash though, they are better off promoting it as a new game.
All of them except Star Fox Zero (Unless they fix it), Devil's Third (can't fix it) and Sm4sh (just wait for Smash 5)
Takahashi has already expressed interest in porting XCX, so I think that's the most likely one. Besides that, I think Captain Toad, Star Fox Zero, Super Mario Maker and maybe W101.
Not sure about Smash. At this point I'm starting to think they might just announce a Smash 5 rather than do a port.
>FINALLY get another mario sports game with a story
>you play as mario instead of your own character
>pre-defined overworld that you have to follow a path on
FUCK
Golf Story was good, but fell apart about half way through. I'm glad it got made though.
With game play like the previous reveal trailers? In a full sized direct where time and focus is on other titles? Doubt it. Most we'll get is names and official confirmation it's coming this year. Would like to be wrong though. XY's reveal direct was so fucking hype.
youtube.com
First looks at a new gen have typically gotten their own separate directs, so I doubt it.
