Borderlands with friends is some of the most fun I've ever had in video games. I remember seeing the trailer for the first game and showing my 3 highschool buddies. It was our sophomore year of highschool and we were so hyped for it to come out. We actually all skipped school that day and did 4 player co op the entire way through. Sharing loot like true Bros dueling each other laughing at the shitty jokes. Now we all live in different cities and states and have jobs and families and never talk. Fuck I wish I could experience just a single fucking hour of any of those times again just once.

gameplay is better due to far less grindiness but there's way less to do comparatively to BL2. Story's even worse, but the playable characters are mostly better.

This game literally made my eye hurt after 40m of game play. Had to return. Never had any issues with games like that before and I've even played SNES games which are stobe sims

I tried to play Borderlands 2 when it came out and again recently like two years ago.
Both playthroughs ended once we got to the Tiny Tina sections and our brains melted out of our ears.

But I have, and it's shit.

>god-awful characters (Jack, Hammerlock, Zed, and Marcus being the only decent ones) and really shitty story (fuck Roland & co., should be able to side with Jack)
>loses the mad max feel in exchange for ebin memes and wackiness
>scaling is all sorts of fucked at endgame so health-gating with grog or cheesy 2 second kills are the only viable strats
>characters are really imbalanced - raid bossing with Krieg is next to impossible and plays entirely different than the rest of the game, while Sal and 0 can just lolzerk/lolb0re everything

The only "good" thing about it is that there's a lot of content - but the content itself is shit. That combined with the fact that you have to do the story at least 3 times per char + the 4 DLCs 1 time each makes levelling up a new char a fucking miserable task. Karima and Gaige are qts though.

Same here but probably just because I played the living hell out of borderlands 2 and found that borderlands 1 is more basic and hasn't such crazy high numbers for health, shild, damage, etc and the low grav/flying mechanic in the pre sequel was the kind of fresh new thing the series needed. Hyped for borderlands 3
