What the fuck was that?

>instead of a brand new Deus Ex game they decided to go with Human Revolution 2, a sequel to a game that didn't need one
>train station bombing happens
>think that it's just a plot device to take away all the augs and shit from the player
>it turns out that the entire game revolves around figuring out who blew up some random train station
>it's almost as short as Invisible War
>story goes nowhere yet ends up in a cliffhanger
This is what we call an expansion pack.

I suppose it's decent, but I'm glad I didn't pay full price for it.

The game universe feels so small compared to the first game
>goes to the bank secret vault
>all the secret organisations from the series all have a nice little room conveniently placed in it

It's a sequel to a prequel. It's pretty damn hard to make an epic worldwide conspiracy story to fit with both the prequel and the established world that leads to the original game.

>what the fuck was that?
A better game than Human Revolution and pinacle of Deus Ex in regards to level design and maybe even gameplay. Story fags of the original game need not apply.

I stealthed my way through this game and the level design was pretty bad, every building had obvious vents/ways to by-pass everything, there was never a moment where you had to time things with lasers/cameras/people at the same time and memorize patrol routes.

The cities feel pretty static too, lot's of people and objects everywhere but you can't interact with any of it. But I guess that's all Deus Ex games.

Gameplay was pretty much the same as HR, maybe little more tight.

>pinacle of Deus Ex in regards to level design and maybe even gameplay
what the fuck are you on?

>but you can't interact with any of it
wew

Do you know how I can sense your bullshit? If you do every side quest, the game takes 30 hours to finish. And you said it's short in the OP. You didn't play half the content.

The vr side stuff was more entertaining than the main game desu

This game has the same problem HR did. the writing is horrible. literally every fucking character on the street is talking about the aug vs human problem or they treat you like shit for being an aug

I couldn't get into it and thought it was complete fucking shit. At least in previous Deus ex games you could be an asshole, this game constantly tries to force you to be a Mary Sue and then punishes and even locks you out of content if you do otherwise. Shit game/10 glad I pirated it.

I liked it, even more then HR, but storywise is insignificant.
The name Deus Ex feels wasted in game where you just save a bunch of britbongs from a bomb or a couple of rich guys from a poisoned drink at the end of the day.
Even IW felt more important storywise.

It feels like 1/3 of a game
Forget about sidequests, without them the story is short af
HR wasnt like that

I played most of the sidequests, the game is short even if you do everything. That's why they shoehorned in the Breach mode.

>but you can't interact with any of it
Yup, 99% of the NPCs are samefaces who repeat random one-liners, you really can't talk to anyone in this game.

>go to Ruzicka station
>use only non lethal takedowns
>go back to super secret TS29 base
>YOU SICK FUCK YOU MURDERED EVERY COP ON YOUR WAY GO SEE THE PSYCHIATRIST YOU PSYCHO
>Jensen acknowledges that he killed everybody on the station instead of saying that it's bullshit

>go meet Janus
>you can see explosives planted on your way in
>he disconnects when you start asking too many questions
>drones appear to kill you
>Jensen is too dumb to see that Janus set him up and Jaggernaut Collective is full of shit

>Jensen finds proof that his butthurt negro pilot is working for Illuminati
>doesn't say anything to anyone about it

The fact that devs were too lazy to get Czech names right really bothered me for some reason. Was it really so hard to hire a Czech consultant?

>Jensen finds proof that his butthurt negro pilot is working for Illuminati
You already knew TF29 was working for them, bringing it up would blow your cover.

LGBT character done right.

Why is "lolstealth" so overrated? Every fucking game nowadays only reward you for being stealthy, but I could blast my way through the original without being penalized for it.

It's as bad as Dishonored 2 with recycled content. Heck, it's as bad as if not worse than Death of the Outsider.

>But I guess that's all deus ex games
>pinnacle of Deus Ex
Someone hasn't played 1.

>30 hours for a game that cost as much in dollars

I'm struggling to think of anything but prestige attributed to being stealthy in videogames being the reason for making it so obnoxiously pushed in the newer Deus Ex titles.

If you remove the stealth aspects of HR and MD, you're left with a really shit shooter with terrible map design and writing - and if you remove the combat aspects, you're left with a barebones stealth game plagued with detection problems, poor AI, terrible map design and writing. Combined, you might fool people they're playing properly made wholesome games.

Feature spam, but none of it's done well.

moral faggotrism
literally "killing is bad k, please consume soy and change your sex immediately"

I hope youre not unironically implying that you didnt also just describe the original deus ex
