Remember demon souls, Online service was suposed to be closed in a year and finally it was delayed several times until it was closed the last years.

Not really. You can see pictures that other players have taken, and follow scavenger hunts that show where treasure is hidden.

And you can compete to see if you can beat other player's time in challenges.

Earning points unlocks some costumes and collectibles.

Do you need to play Gravity Rush 1 before Gravity Rush 2? or does it not matter?

I recommend checking out the remastered take on the first game too if you have any particular interest in the setting and backstory.

Only if you care about the story. The city from the first game is in the second.

The first half or so of GR2 is fairly standalone, but the rest of it helps to have some character context and background on the plot reveals that they bring into the second act.

It's fun to discover the photo ghosts scattered throughout the world. Kinda adds a nice element of exploration to the game.

It's a love it or hate it kind of series, very flawed but a lot of fun if you can get past the issues. If you do decide to get GR1 first keep in mind the gameplay was improved in 2 with extra gravity styles and other quality of life improvements

Second game is better, but many of the characters return from the first game. You'll enjoy second one way more if you play the games in order.

You mean the Gravity Typhoon? In the second game it no longer makes Kat invincible during the move unless you upgrade your super moves to the maximum.

Location: Aldnoir. Maximum comfy, in my opinion. Amazing french-sounding ost too.

So they definitely delayed the closure because of the fan response, but do you think they are doing it to help drive sales of the game or if this is to see if fans will still keep playing it and whether it is worth to keep the servers up for much longer? Adding 6 more months really feels like a last minute decisions. It seems they were surprised by the fan outcry and they just delayed the closure so that they could have more time to come up with a proper decision or PR announcement.

I liked her well enough in the end, but I thought she was shit at first.

I'll be interested to see if the game gets advertised or mentioned any more by Sony.

It's pretty interesting that they introduce Lisa almost like an antagonist who overworks Kat and denies her food if he she doesn't devlier on her work. Kat even describes her as a "slave-driver" in the very beginning, but later on they set her up as this heroic character who helps Kat to save the city.
I don't think a lot of games would try to do something like that.

I think its more related to the good extra sales of PSN, since Gravity Rush remasterd and GR2 was at discount on december.

Sony is evading the PR nightmare of having good sales in december and close online the month after.

I felt like they played up her and her crew's antagonism a bit much in the beginning, because I didn't really want to help any of them besides Cecie.

It eases up a bit when they reach the city and you realize Kat and Syd are free to leave whenever they want though. So it's not like they're actually prisoners. Their boss is just in a crap situation.
