This looks...awful
This looks...awful
...ly cute
Yeah not enough strong women character beating evil white men
Remember when we first saw Woolly World and it was some 2D lookin ass shit?
This'll look way different next trailer. Good-Feel takes their sweet ass time for better or worse.
I'm not even talking about the graphics (which are also awful) I'm talking about the actually gameplay, something just seems off. The animations/level design/presentation are all underwhelming. Why do the keep making this arts and craft shit, I want a another yoshis island style game in 3rd person god dammit.
>littlebigplanet
kek
It looks fine, and we have only seen a couple of trailers, almost no gameplay. I'm sure it's going to be a good game, just wait until they show more.
>Why do the keep making this arts and craft shit
The original Yoshi's Island was made to look like crayon drawings.
the treehouse footage looked neat and I cant wait to play it. Woolly world was fun and I expect this to be as well
I really like the visuals but it's just more yoshi's island type shit. The egg trowing and slow and simple platforming bore the fuck out of me
Because they are, in fact, games for 5 year olds.
>babby game on the shortch
no shit sherlock
>No wonder Spyro the Dragon is the go-to reptile mascot character.
fuck off sonybro, no one gives a shit about spyro and his series has been dead for 20 years
Yoshi is very popular with literal children in japan
>Toddlers still can't deal with the fact that Nintendo games are made for families and kids
>being mad that guys like me can play couch co-op with their kids while they’re replaying BloodBorne for the 76th time
Looks fun as fuck. My son and I will play his together and then I’ll throw in Dark Souls after he goes to sleep.
Stay mad virgin.
>something
Come back to me when you have a concrete complaint.
And damn you if you mention "soul".
>Why do the keep making this arts and craft shit
Yoshi Island - Crayon
Yoshi Story - Mixed media
Yoshi Topsy-Turvy - Cardboard
Yoshi Touch and Go - Watercolor
Yoshi's Island DS - Drawings
Yoshi's New Island - Colored pencil
Yoshi's Wooly World - Yarn
Well gee. I wonder.
I'm gonna play Yoshi's Story, what am I in for?
Mild confusion and disappointment.
As someone who bought it for N64, this.
I think what he means is taking place in an actual landscape. yeah, Yosh island was made to look like crayon drawings, but it still took place on the island, not some random room. Keep the crafts aesthetic/visuals, but keep the locations real.
>Casual playthrough
Boredom.
>Melon challenge
Frustration at points.
Why?
reminder that kirby and yoshi are literal toddler games.
I liked Wooly World and Little Big Planet. I don't really see that much of an issue (yet)
Soulless.
>raising a degenerate
I bet you'll teach him math too lol
I hate dof.
In my opinion it just looks cooler and feels more exciting. I'd rather explore caves, the sky, mountains, etc., rather than a bedroom.
I remember emulating it and it didn't captivate me at all the way yoshi's island did. Remind me what was so bad? I didn't make it far at all.
It was my first Yoshi game and I don't see what's wrong with it
Imagine making up this retarded fantasy.
It'll probably look better next time they show it. I don't know what the fuck it is about Nintendo but whenever they show something they almost always change the looks when they show it off again. Even Mario Odyssey the shit they showed during its initial trailer got changed once E3 came around.
Who's the frog?
I don't think its bad per say, it just felt like a downgrade from Yoshis Island. Way less levels, less gameplay mechanics, less collectibles. Yoshi's Story is okay, Yoshi's Island is a fucking masterpiece.
Sequel to Cave Story
I don't understand what they're going for with this game at all.
The only hook seems to be "look at this cute arts and crafts styled world!" but at this point the hand-made style is very been-there-done-that. This is Good-Feel's third yarn game, and Nintendo itself has explored that art direction outside of their games with Yoshi's Island, Kirby and Paper Mario too. That's not to mention the existence of other games like Unravel, Little Big Planet, and Tearaway on other platforms. The novelty has worn off, and with the gameplay looking so barebones there's really no reason to get invested.
I get that it's supposed to be filling the need for an easy children's platformer, since the latter half of this year will be filled with more teen-oriented games like Metroid Prime, Fire Emblem, Bayonetta and No More Heroes. But Kirby is releasing only shortly before this and fills the same niche, while both appealing to a wider audience and being the better selling series. It's like releasing Mario Kart in the Spring and Diddy Kong Racing in the Summer, you're competing against your own audience.
>8 month old footage.
It's gonna look much better when we see it again
okay. Yeah I felt that Yoshi story was very easy as well. There was nothing captivating about it and so I dropped it pretty fast. It's a shame since I always wanted that game since I was a kid and I was always denied until I finally hit the emulator up.
>Metroid
>Harder than Sonic, let alone the rest.
I think you could safely swap klonoa and kirby as well as sonic and mario maybe even mega man and samus seeing as how one is more difficult
La mulana after SMB in its own Prepare your notebook tier.
Looks like Yoshi's Story without the pre-rendered graphics. Weird. Cool?!
Is it really? Looked like a 7/10 mobile game to me. I played it for 5 minutes at a convention once and felt like I'd gotten the point.
Star Allies got an improvement like that too. The visuals looks a lot better than previously and it's more vivid as well.
...
No shit? It's not finished you retard
where does castlevania slide into this?
NES era Castlevania next to Megaman
Metroidvania era Castlevania next to Yoshi
I saw the trailer for this recently (haven't been following switch) and it was absolute cringe. I can understand buying this for a kid but how could anyone actually compel themselves to play this as an adult? its so kiddie
Well OP. You don't have to fucking buy it.
There. Now what you gonna do?
I don't make a thread for every single piece of casual consoleshit I see every day or any of the new releases flooding the steam store that I don't like. Why not talk about a game you think looks neat?
It looks like a fun kids game. I don't see the problem. Not every game has be made for thirty year old manchildren.
Congratualations, you just described EVERY Nintendo game after the Gamecube
