I'm having to fight against my love of cute fairies to not buy a game I already own. I'll wait for the sequel.
Best part of a great game
I already did. It's not as engaging as I would have hoped. At least it looks like you unlock skill slots via leveling up now instead of having to rent them from other players.
Only if they add a Bedroom as DLC.
So is HW actually any good? The game looks kinda eh but I've always wanted playable Tetra
Didn't you already make this same thread yesterday and the day before?
The story mode is piss easy, but even with decent levels some adventure mode maps can be pretty fucking brutal. After a little bit, even with the shit characters, you find some utilities for the shit moves that let you do some serious damage.
Like there was this one Agatha map for unlocking her t3 weapon, and that map forced me to learn the value of spinning butterfly.
That said the game is quite repetitive. You're unlikely to finish one adventure map, never mind all of them. But the game can also be quite relaxing until you get to the more brutal areas that require you to plan and play more effectively, going for a route of attack instead of just grinding levels.
Fairy feets!
Imagine Dynasty Warriors, but all the characters only have 2 sound effects, and the same 5 second cutscene plays every other second.
Secondly, Tetra is by far one of the worst characters in the game, to a point where I main Fi and I think Tetra is unusable. Water characters have such a shit mechanic that it's pointless (DoT damage), on top of Tetra's beyond bad aoe clear and single target.
Also, Fairy's are all 100% garbage that you min-max food to obtain 1 talent (which is almost always a passive x2 bonus drops or something). The other 100% of the time, they're only useful for huge 2-screen aoe clears, which is basically an instant clear Keep. They're pretty much "broken" because of their instant HUGE aoe clear, and to a point you can 1-shot any Commanders.
Unironically yes. I cannot help myself around games with character creators. As long as the gameplay is passable, I have to have it.
And by relaxing, I mean in a sort of zen kind of way. Not Guitar Hero or Rock Band zen where your mind is just fully in the mode and you have tunnel vision and nothing exists but the perfect notes, but musou zen is kind of a "I don't have to think of anything, just sit back and watch the pretty colours happen" kinda zen.
At least until your faction starts losing morale and the enemies gain morale and they have a captain that gives them more morale and suddenly you're noticing that Cia went from nearly full health to half health in a few seconds and you have to run over there and insert yourself into the battle and help her out before she dies, but then Sheik on the other side of the map is in trouble now and you just have to trust that taking out the captain and whittling down the numbers was enough for Cia to finish the job while you go over to help Shiek to find him(her) struggling against a fucking dinolfos and Ghirahim fucking defects to the enemy side even though you're playing as Ghirahim
But other than that it's usually okay.
>Bought HW at launch
>Bought the season pass
>Sank hours into replaying maps over and over to grind for materials and levels
>Got stonewalled hard by the master quest map because some of that shit was just fucking ridiculous
>All of the DLC maps expected you to be an absolute fucking god and I just did not have the patience for that
>Too retarded to get the rupee glitch to work
>Let my autistic "O M G I LURRRRRVE ZELDA XD" girlfriend go fucking nuts on the game but she only leveled up Twili Midna and Young Link to 220
>By the time the 3DS characters came to Wii U I just didn't fucking care anymore, because what was the fucking point
I just know I'm going to buy this because it's apparently rebalanced, but I just don't think I could take the stress of having to go through all that shit again. I have like 300+ hours in Smash, but yet nearly 600 hours in HW with almost no fucking progress into the DLC and characters barely near level 150.
Maybe I just don't like musou as much as I think I do.
You're not creating the fairy, just dressing her up.
Maybe.
...
Isn't that show ded now?
I have 600 hours in HWL and my characters are around 120-150 and I've A ranked almost all of the Adventure maps minus some of the tedium from the first one and some end game stuff I haven't gotten to. It was definitely rebalanced and I'm sorry your time was spent fruitlessly grinding instead of clearing other maps. If you do decide to get the Switch version, it'll definitely be a more enjoyable experience.
Yes, unfortunately.
That's exactly what I needed to hear. God all of that grinding was just fucking miserable.
>So hardcore you shit on all of the launch maps
>Can't even do the DLC maps without getting raped within two seconds
They look cuter on 3DS honestly
I didn't mind the grind, but I sure as shit don't want to do it again for a third time.
I don't buy every musou. Hyrule was my first one since Ken''s Rage so I had some time between them. Didn't even buy the Legends version.
But god dammit, I just got the Fire Emblem one last week. Motherfuck.
That is another reason why I'm not to excited about this port as I'm still playing FEW.
>tfw FEW is actually one of the best playing musous yet but gets shit on because muh awakening
Yeah, I mean the clone movesets suck, but it's always some bullshit about how HURR MUH OBSCURE AXE WIELDER FROM ONE OF THE OLD GAMES REEEEEE
Not having Ike or Roy was legitimately retarded, though. At least my wife Lisse got in.
This is exactly what happened to me.
I was so heated about how shitty they obviously didn't test the DLC pack difficulty.
It wasn't even "this game is supposed to be hard" it was just "we didnt even bother to test if this was even passably enjoyable for any reason, or even made any sense to be difficult in this way"
I refused to buy the 3DS version despite hearing the difficulty was rebalanced, because i am not fucking playing a warriors game on a system like 3DS.
This though makes me want to buy the Switch version. Rebalanced Adventure Mode, all the story and characters from the 3DS game I missed out on.
I would, if a had money for a switch...
Shut up Awakeningbabby.
It got shit on because Fire Emblem has 0 fucking appeal as a brand.
I don't know why Nintendo keeps trying to give that series spinoffs when they all flop hilariously
I'm glad the responses seem to be in favor of what I said. I was afraid I was going to have people screaming into my asshole about getting good.
There's literally no fucking excuse why I should be an absolute god who completely wrecks the base game content without so much as a scratch, but yet the minute I try to play the DLC content I get completely fucking wrecked the minute it starts. It's just so frustrating.
My first Fire Emblem was Path of Radiance. I own the GBA ones, and have gone back and played the originals. Stop being a whiny faggot.
This, sadly. People crying about "WAHHH WAIFUS REEEE" when the series has always had sexy girls are just retarded.
I had friends who screamed and cried about me turning on the casual mode. Fuck you man, I would rather think of it as the Shining Force sequels I never go than lose my healer just because some archer on the other side of the map got a 1% crit chance with a 1% hit chance and the game decided to be a fucking cunt.
They could try to fix the clone sets by giving characters a second weapon to use like they usually get in the games. Who knows, it might actually still happen with the next DLC.
why did they waste the resources on this shit?
I put a ton of time into HW on WiiU, I can't imagine going through some of the bullshit adventure mode levels again.
>clone movesets suck
>need to buy the DLC to get any lancer that isn't a Pegasus Knight
>includes a fourth archer
>still has the exact same moveset
I can understand there only being one dragon so she can be the Fierce Diety Young Link of the game, but why the fuck aren't there at least two bow movesets between four fucking archers?
Any OG Mosou that isn't based off another game and DW/SW itself?
Guess Senran sort of counts. And I think there was some Med-evil spinoff?
Because it's cute.
Any game that requires you to be max level which takes literally hundreds upon HUNDREDS of hours to grind, and still lose unlocking the level rewards if you get hit ONCE is beyond fucking broken and retarded.
I know this isn't an excuse, but I just like to think of it as this game was a fucking rush job just so Nintendo could satisfy people who wanted the Fire Emblem Musou they always dreamed of without realizing it would blow up in their face this badly. I think it's just because they didn't keep the leash as tight as they did with Hyrule Warriors.
At the end of the day, there's only so many movesets you could bullshit with characters who honestly play the same in each game to begin with, and while it sucks I can at least see WHY it turned out the way it did.
>when the series has always had sexy girls are just retarded.
See the thing is waifufags like you see anything female and think it's intended to be waifubait. FE never had an emphasis on otaku trash until Awakening
Nintendo is all about waifu from now.
This is true. 90% reason why all the trash generals on /vg/ are maintained.
Just nothing but waifu posting even for obscure games that like 10 people play at most.
>uses waifu as a term to describe all female characters
Fuck off, reddit
The TP and MM maps were the absolute worst. You totally needed a level 150+ character to even clear the later missions in a reasonable time. Basic captains would take multiple minutes each to defeat. I fully cleared the normal and MQ maps but just gave up on the last two because the gameplay had been reduced to nothing but level grinding.
I think that since they increased the level limits in the DLC, they thought "hey, we need content that requires you to be this level" but didn't think about how miserable the grind to actually get there was.
No because it's a shit feature
Of all the Musou games I've played, it's easily the worst. But it's Zelda so you'll buy it anyways.
Well, maybe I will get a switch after all.
HW is the single most tedious musou game. You'd be better off with FEW or something.
Every 2D female on existence is somebody's waifu.
What about DQ?
>FEW
>generic anime fantasy guys do generic anime fantasy guys things while fighting generic anime fantasy guys
Fucking yawn
Haven't tried it. Heard good things though.
It's a better game.
That's a pretty generic ironic weeb response
HEY GUYS THREE KINGDOMS IS COMING TO TOTAL WAR
GET TO /twg/ ITS SUPER FULL RIGHT NOW WITH /eagg/ GOING INTO DEATH THROES
Better game or not if it's theme is complete nothing garbage then who cares?
Even if it's mechanically weaker, being able to fuck shit up as a badass Goron or a giant chicken makes it more fun
>badass
Yes, I suppose a numale would enjoy short bursts of novelty over a generally more solid game.
>plays exclusively as sissy boys and boring teenaged girls
>calls others numales
Meanwhile I can stomp shit as Giga Nigga Ganondorf and Chad Tingle
Only numales use the phrase "badass", yes. You're on par with Anthony Burch, bugman.
FEW was doomed because everything about the game was decided by Hayashit and the final game was finalized before the voting gauntlet and FEH even started. If HW Switch released last year and FEW released this year FEW would have been a much better balanced game
Remember IS was caught with their pants down with the VG. The 4 brave heroes were released in october because they needed time to actually work on them and they surely didn't expect Ike, Roy and Lin to win.
I don't play as the boys at all. I exclusively use the female characters. Except in some cases where I need to bring Takumi or Frederick along, it works.
t. sissy FEmboy
Not true. Heroes did well until it stopped doing well, and Cipher is thriving. It's a worldwide phenomenon.
>It's a worldwide phenomenon.
Is this ironic?
>I exclusively use the female characters.
Closet tranny detected
Fire Emblem does extremely well in Japan and decently well elsewhere. Yes it's worldwide.
>from now.
They have always been
>extremely well in Japan
It does moderately well in Japan. To call it a phenomenon is retarded though. It sells pretty good at best.
Hell a new IP like fucking ARMS outsold every FE game ever made in less then a year
It outsells Zelda in Japan.
>Hell a new IP like fucking ARMS outsold every FE game ever made in less then a year
lol no it didn't, and especially not in Japan.
I'm pretty sure the SNES FE sold between 500000 and 800000 units in Japan, especially Mystery of the Emblem. That's why they put Marth everywhere
Yeah, Mystery of the Emblem and Genealogy of the Holy War sold gangbusters over there.
BotW is gonna hit a million in japan, so you're full of shit
That's less then BotW
It's not even close, user.
You're so full of fucking shit. Breath of the Wild sold 660,000 units there.
I was answering to that guy that said "Hell a new IP like fucking ARMS outsold every FE game ever made in less then a year" which is not true
I'm pretty sure many Zelda game outsold a FE game in Japan but let's not pretend FE has shit sales either.
I'll gradly buy it if it doesn't drop the framerate to the low 10s in the DLC and does a better job at locking on 30 at least.
If they manage to do that, I'll double dip for Cia.
absolutely not
fire emblem warriors is infinitely better, unless you are a waifu shitter that bitches about rosters
>which is not true
ARMS will easily have passed 2 million by June, which means it'll have outsold every FE
I'll never ever touch that series after what it did to Smash 4, so FEW isn't an option for me
I though we were talking about japanese sales since the quote chain started from this guy
they upped the dose considerably since switch
>game will magically sell a million more units after the holidays are already over
You wish.
>smashfag opinions
wololo
But that's the thing. ARMS was at 1.3mil at the start of september. It can easily do 700k with the holidays and how popular the switch is
1.13m, you mean?
Fire Emblem isn't what made the gameplay shit, user.
>name calling just because I won't buy a FE game
wew
>tfw your 3ds save file got corrupted after using a save editor
>all that time lost
>going to have to beat the game a third time
Missing the point won't make me buy FEW, friend
Is it worth it, user?
Is a given HW switch will outsell FEW?
Of all of Tr4sh's problems, FE is pretty low on the list.
>buy FEW
Who cares, it's on 3DS for fuck's sake, just pirate it
nope. 1.3 million according to the september quarterly report
It'll sell less in Japan, more in other regions. It'll sell more overall.
I already have it on my N3ds, so probably no. But probably yes because it is the only good musou game on the Switch.
FEW sold like 10 copies so yeah
I really hope that HW Switch at least takes the improved ranking system from FEW.
Having all deployed characters get exp and not be completely useless would also be great.
Why did FEW do so badly compared to HW?
That's your opinion. My opinion is that the FE spam hurt the game more then anything else.
Hence why FE as a series doesn't exist to me.
Worse than the physics being trash? Worse than Sakurai omitting features because of Youtube? Worse than Bayonetta trivializing every other character in the game?
No dating elements
Asking that you'll certain to get polarizing and very extreme opinions.
As a first timer to musou, I almost regret my purchase once I started playing it, but kept pushing through and had a decent time for about 70h.
Some months later I felt this sudden urge to go back to it and proceeded to spend about 150 more hours into it, playing for hours a day. It was incredibly addicting.
I'd say if you've never played a musou before, this and you like Zelda, it's probably worth a try. Musou games are so unique that you've gotta try for yourself and see if it clicks.
