They thought you weren't a little bitch. Boy were they wrong.
I beat the half-assed boss, the rest of DLC, and the entire game. The area is hot garbage. Hell there's no reason to even do it if you value your sanity, none of the rewards are good and the boss isn't fun. For the record I did it solo despite everyone saying it's a co-op fight.
They were thinking that people wanted areas to be balanced around co-op but still completable solo. What they didn't realize that Souls fans are massive casuals.
Fpbp
It's an optional, co-op intended zone in the last fucking DLC of the game.
What did you expect? A kiss goodnight?
At the very least it was a novel environment. Especially compared to the Shulva & Brume Tower versions of optional zones.
For being such weak area, i really love the concept of it, with the blinding blizzard
>Vengarl set
This area turned me off from ds2, rest of the game is fine except here.
It's annoying more than anything
I did it solo too.
What's your point?
>the last, optional area of the last DLC of the game turned me off
Lol
>muh co-op
None of the other Soulsborne games are balanced around co-op for good reason. It's a single-player franchise with online elements, the fact that Dark Souls 2 prioritized the online is probably its biggest flaw. And I know I'm triggering PvP autists right now.
Hell if they were going to make co-op content, why not make it GOOD co-op content? Making the area gigantic, having obnoxious enemies, and copypasting a mediocre boss is not exactly the height of quality. Aesthetically it's decent but it gets old real fast.
What is this reaction image trying to convey? The Vengarl helm is radical. I like pairing it with the Alva set, it looks really nice.
I don't know, but it would be much better if you could play it on the go.
>We have to add another one of those awful DLC areas designed to be played with summons, but we're done with this fucking game and can't be bothered
Its optional, you don't have to do it. you're not even expected to do it. Fromsoft saw that people enjoyed co-op in Souls and wanted to try and experiment with that niche.
Every entry in Soulsborne (other than 3 lmao) has some kind of experimental thing that didn't get a polished on because it was poorly received (Tendency, Gravelord, Chalice Dungeons, DLC Co-op areas)
>Its optional, you don't have to do it
It's included in the price of the DLC.
I actually really like this area, the reindeer are fucking annoying but running from outpost to outpost in the freezing weather was cool and unlike any area in a Souls game before it
The boss fight being two of the big cat things sucked dick but I wouldn't mind another area like this
I would argue that the content of the DLC outside of the co-op areas alone is worth the $10
only non missable boss I skipped in ds2
I have better things to do than running through this shithole to fight copypasted boss
I never even went to that area. I already heard the horror stories and really don't want to put up with another Izalith tier level. Plus I didn't like the other co-op centric areas from the other DLCs at all
>tfw I really enjoy the PvE of Dark Souls 2 while accepting thats it not quite on the same level as the rest of series
>the gameplay 2 is what really carries it for me
>everyone else is too busy circlejerking over the PvP when they're not just outright shitting on the game
yeah but if you don't play the game the way I want you to ur a noob
>run to the two tigers
>cancer
>run to sir alonne
>cancer
>run to blue smelter
>cancer
>run to trio featuring havel
>cancer
Those dlc areas were fucking retarded.
these fucking guys are what is killing optional shit in games. Everybody has to be able to beat ALL the content. Go fuck yourself faggot.
>it's optional
I have never understood this argument, in any context. It's in the game, therefore it can be criticized. How mandatory it is doesn't matter. Frankly I'm sick of games having half-assed optional content because TECHNICALLY the player can just skip it. If the content isn't good quality it doesn't belong in the game in the first place. You are right that the rest of the DLC (with a couple of exceptions) is pretty good.
It's not worth conquering. At most maybe you can explore it a bit to check out the unique weather and witness the obnoxious lightning reindeer. But the boss is not worth the hassle.
Before the tigers I would have said the NPC trio was the most obnoxious. I thought Allone was pretty good, better than Fume Knight at least. The run to him is way less of a hassle than the tigers.
Artorias of the Abyss is also a $10 DLC and it included 4 bosses, multiple NPCs with their own voice actors, areas that are good both for pve and co-op and an entirely new game mode.
Without the "co-op areas" Dark Souls II DLC has two bosses, one to zero dubbed NPCs, two areas that are padded with backtracking and enemies that are mostly just generic human mobs.
It's not about being able to play it, it's about quality. If I pay full price for a DLC I would expect at least three areas with decent level design, but that's obviously not the case for the "co-op areas". You can't honestly tell me that they hold the same standards as the rest of their respective DLCs. They're all on par with the worst levels in the base game.
Fromsoft are the poster boys for "What were they thinking"
Those are my favorite enemies (the whole group of them) in my favorite area in the base game of 3.
salamanders and knights are pure cancer, my only gripe is that the run feels a bit long.
>game engine allows weapons to go through walls in certain cases
>probably necessary to prevent people from cheesing fights using walls
>instead of just accepting this as an intrinsic and very minor flaw of the game engine, cry about it for years
I'll never understand how people like you exist, but I'd bet anything you're from pol
Where do you think you? A reasonable video game discussion forum with mature adults more than happy to have a polite conversation?
its pretty fucking retarded given the tangibility of the environment that the player faces
If i swing somewhat remotely close to a wall and i go CLANG CLANG that cunt should as well.
imho it's fine if you pay attention
The worst is either Shrine of Amana or the Blue Smelter Demon Area
>uhhh... how do... aahh people have uhhh standards??
>What did you expect? A kiss goodnight?
Jesus, FROMfags really will defend anything.
>probably necessary to prevent people from cheesing fights using walls
If thats the case they could just not put the walls in those areas in the first place
The walls are necessary for level structure.
soulsdrones everyone
>get hit through 2 meters of solid BRICK for 60% of your TOTAL HP
Don't use words like level structure, you've never made anything in your fucking life
shit I bet he's mad now
Fucking kek, Brume Tower was one of the best areas in DS2 and one of the best FROM dlc's period you low IQ brainlet cuckold
Next time on Sup Forums, this crazy user will actually defend grab shockwaves! Stay tuned
>Don't use words like level structure, you've never made anything in your fucking life
I don't see your point, you don't need to build houses to know what walls are for.
Big fan of the Soulsborne series, but never got into PvP.
Is it worth?
Not at all. This series already established that floating nonsensical platforms are part of the setting. Walls aren't necessary at all
>The area is hot garbage
> What's your point?
DS2fags are brainlets.
SotFS is still better than 3 despite its flaws.
And while it's not "great" for a Souls game it's still better than 99.99999999% of the hideous garbage that is AAA gaming.
...
>I don't see your point, you don't need to build houses to know what walls are for.
You, in your infinite wisdom, said that the walls are important for 'level structure'.
But you don't even know what that IS
Enemies are definitely part of the level structure, you don't just place them randomly, you plan the layout around them, and defending the bullshit in that webm, truly the sign of the ultimate brainlet.
>areas that are good both for pve and co-op
You mean "area". Town is the only good one. Cave is ass and the forest is copypasted from the original game.
>reaction image
You sure showed me, I can't come back from this. I'm done for.
my bad I was laughing at this

>defending major flaws
>Sup Forums boogeyman
what a joke you are, get a life.
That deep-in DaS2's development? They weren't.
Just fucking with you 2's DLC is the only thing worth playing in that shitty game, but their respective hidden gauntlets can go climb a wall of dicks.
Kek, roasted
You have absolutely no self awareness, probably because you're retarded. Video games have bugs. Considering people do 0 hit runs of Dark Souls 3, considering I've been through Archdragon Peak a dozen times and haven't experienced that once, it isn't a significant issue. It's a bug, literally all video games have them.
I love how it's common/hardcore (read retard) to actually excuse lazy, shit design just to look more hardcore. It's literally the "dark rich roast coffee" of videgames.
Nobody enjoys this kind of shit in games, but you ass-backwards shits who are more worried about your online e-peen rather than a legit, enjoyable and favorable experience help to ruin games. I can't wait for the video games industry to grow up and stop listening to you focus test teenagers, who rage at a screen like a mongloid, but then ask for more like you're now special for doing so.
kek
You weren't stating that it is a bug, brainlet.
You were defending it and suggesting the player 'plans' around it
>brb getting my x-ray goggles
>major flaw
That's an extremely minor flaw, histrionic crybaby pol justice warrior
I'm still trying to get both rings at once on a NG, one of my characters is about to enter the iron keep but im putting it off from fear of getting killed by an invader
The bug is in the way the mechanic applies to that one single enemy, which never occurs before or after the rest of the game. The mechanic is clearly in place so players can't cheese certain enemies, especially those with spears or greatswords.
>you don't even know what that IS
I do. You don't have to be a construction worker to know. Do I have to explain it?
Walls are obviously necessary in order to form corridors, rooms or simply to make it impossible to reach point C from point A without passing from B.
Without walls there's no level structure, it's impossible to design an enclosed environment.
Sure the case in that webm is extreme but clipping is to be expected in any game, it's a compromise to accept in exchange for level design.
>oh no DS2 has a dump stat tied to i-frames!
>it's not like DS1 had useless stats like Res and Luck or le masterpiece Bloodborne had unfinished shit like Bloodtinge!
best place to invade, just get a dragonslayer bow, and wear nothing but the archer hat and ring that makes you look human, and stalk your prey through the blizzard
What? Can't get through the rings? Git gud faggot
you monster
It does occur elsewhere
Its not even exclusive to this game
All the Dark Souls games do this
Sorry dumbshits, already explained why it's retarded to defend this crap, don't need another Sup Forums argument loop
If you make an enemy with a very long range melee attack, you make sure that attack works with the place you put him in, it's that simple.
There is a difference between 'expected clipping' like with the titanite demon in the anor londo room and an enemy straight up hitting you through multiple solid obstacles
if they made it to the end without dying i would fight them on the bridge in hand to hand combat using the bone hands
It never happened to me so it isn't an issue.
...
>run to
There's your problem. Actually do the areas, faggot.
there is no defending adaptability
res was useless and was identified as such and luck was a meme.
Unlike res and luck, adaptability was fucking important and ultimately a fuckup in an attempt to simplify (LOL) stats which literally had to be deciphered and tested for unlike any fucking stat beforehand. I understand your contention since your favourite game is the worst of its series. Its ok. Settle down.
I hate Iron Passage the most. The path to Copypaste BluSmelter is awful and BluSmelter fight is awful.
I noticed people on this board are really obsessed with pretending they're victims, and going great lengths for that illusion. Whether it's screenshotting bloggers or recording bugs, the "culture" here is literally pretending to be oppressed in various ways.
>adaptability was fucking important
lol
>which literally had to be deciphered and tested for unlike any fucking stat beforehand
LOL
4/10 because I responded.
>implying
My favorite game in the series is DaS. I'm merely saying SotFS is better than 3, because it is. There's no defending 3, and doing so outs you as a low IQ brainlet.
It's hard, you're crying because something is difficult. The fact that I actually had to use those blue burr magic resist items to beat him was so refreshing to me because games almost always cater to pathetic whining retards like you.
If you're having that much trouble with it then just stand still until the blizzard disappears, pick the direction you want to go and just walk to it
>Reddit spacing
You're not fooling anyone faggot.
>polumblrite is so emotionally fragile that post formatting triggers him into a screeching rant
Do your incompetent, neglectful parents have any idea how mentally ill you are?
What it would be like to travel through Antarctica?
How is Bloodtinge unfinished?
>das2 apologists think frigid outskirts is bad because of difficulty
lmao
That's why you think it's bad, even if your cognitive dissonance forces you to come up with an alternate explanation. If you think about it, all of your proposed methods for "fixing it" would just involve making it easier than it is. You're a pussy, plain and simple.
>Make a stat the lorewise is about increasing blood.
>It's only use though is guns because of lore about how quicksilver bullets are infused with your blood
>The problem is gun damage doesn't matter because guns are just parrying, but lets make a very limited number of guns that function as damage dealers anyway.
>with the blood theme we could litterally rip off blood+ and have a bunch of weapons that you infuse with your blood to deal damage, but we'll add like two.
They could have added more weapons in general that depended on blood and they could have increased the number of things blood plays a role in but they didn't.
It's not the worst stat they've ever done but it's incredibly niche in terms of use.
Damn you’re mad. Dumb game design decisions are as old as video games. We’ve come to love them as players and anyone who thinks they’ve ever played a game with no flaws probably only played walking sims. Are you not allowed to like a game despite its problems? Are you not allowed to like a person despite their problems?
So they made a bunch of melee and ranged weapons specifically tied to it that are useless without it?
the only way to fix it is to remove it from the game.
It's just a worse version of shaded woods, and theres no need to rehash that area in the same game.
The boss at the end is also just a refight of aava but also ripping off gargoyles/maneater. Absolutely worthless area
The area is bad because it's empty, the enemies are obnoxious, the boss is a rehash, you have to go through two loading screens every time you die, and there's no actual good incentive for conquering it besides to say you did. Conceptually it's interesting but the execution was incredibly lazy.
My only problem with bloodtinge is that it's hard to get its first viable weapon. Before Logarius it's a useless stat but afterwards it's pretty op.
Simon's Bowblade is an amazing blood weapon as well. I've defeated most bosses exclusively using the bow form. You can get it pretty early if you cheese him.
If it was called Frigid Wastelands it would have been 10/10 fitting
They made a few melee weapons like Chikage that scale with in in their tranformed mode.
Basically any weapon that transformed at the cost of some health to be infused with your blood scales with bloodtinge in that mode. The entire idea of the stat is that it's the power of your blood.
The issue again, is that the most relevant form of blood damage are ranged weapons which are mainly used for parrying with a few exceptions, so conceptually it's a shit stat. until you find these weapons.
To make it better more weapons should have been added that make use of your blood, either by infusion transformations or ranged attacks. Blood tinge should have increased the amount of blood bullets you produced or increased your max ammo capacity. Hell maybe blood infusing your weapon should have been a broader mechanic not restricted to transformations.
They were thinking about your mom.
It's powerful, it's just incomplete. Luck in DaS III is almost the same way.
What the hell, about to replay sotfs for shits and giggles. Class rec/ challenge run ideas?
whips only or permadeath/no bonfire run
Fromfags will defend this
