Never.
Tower of Latria is the best location in all of Souls.

Never because Sony.

Hopefully never

Sorry, Cathedral of the Deep is.

Name one reason they can't just pay Bluepoint to make Demon's Souls Remastered as a PS4 exclusive

I guess when the publishing rights for Atlus and Bamco expire?

>there are underage children on this very board that unironically believe there are actually areas in Dark Souls 2 or 3 that surpass the best areas from Dark Souls 1 and Demon's Souls

They will after Bluepoint finishes working on SotC remake. Hopefully.

DeS vs DaS vs BB

Which is the best, and why is Sony still jewing people out of experiencing 2/3 of the best soulsborne games?

Preach my niggah. Tower of Latria has insanely good atmosphere

DaS

They're all good as long as you recognize that 2 and 3 are trash.

Never since everyone will realize how Dark Souls 1, 2 and 3 are worse than it

Atlus is the one which has the rights of the game in the americas

Atlus and Sony have a great relationship

There's nothing that can stop a remaster for happening

Never since Sony has an absolute retard who is responsible what games get greenlit and which won't.
If they were smart like Bamco they would have financed an actual remake with the missing archstone content and made gangbusters with it since there is a shitton of PS4 owners who never got a PS3 and Demon's but started with Dark Souls.

>Atlus and Sony have a great relationship
?
The decision to publish DeS on the west was made by Atlus. Sony didn't even want to publish it under their SIEA brand
However at this point in history we have Bloodborne and Nioh so all souls games are irrelevant. DeS is not bad but it's unfinished like the other games by Fromsoft

High Wall Of Lothric>Anor Londo
Undead Settlement>Undead Burg
High Wall has more branching paths that are worth more than a gigantic room filled with a painting and rafters. Undead Settlement I just prefer its atmosphere and general aesthetic.

I fucking hate Cathedral of the Deep and the post Pontiff section of the Boreal Valley.

Both of these levels are hands down my least favorite parts of DS3.

>there are barely able to post here young adults on this very board that unironically believe there are actually areas in Dark Souls 1 or or Demon's souls that surpass the best areas from King's Field and Shadow tower

Atlus has only the publishing rights for the PS3 version and only in the US. Sony could release a Demon's Souls port on the original fucking PSP if they felt like it.

>tfw wont be able to play DeS on the day the servers shut down
it's been a fun ride

Why would they? To remaster demon's souls is to build the game from the ground up
It can't reach 60fps and the assets are low quality. Same reason why Shadow of the Colossus could never achieve real 60fps (In engine) without porting to an entire new engine

Undead Burg is my most favorite part of any DaS game. Everything about it was just one pleasant surprise after another.

That is not my picture chinkhiro

>Everything about it was just one pleasant surprise after another.
I agree. One of the best starting areas in all of video games (yes yes Northern Undead Asylum is the actual starting area). Right up there with World 1-1. But how you and I feel about Undead Burg, is how I feel about Undead Settlement with a little bit more oomf in that direction.

That's why I said "if they felt like it". They won't, but ultimately they have the last say since it's their own IP. The only instance where there could arise legal issues is if Sony tried to do something with the US PS3 version and that's it. Otherwise they are free to do whatever the fuck they want.

Going further, Shrine Of Amana is a better Dragon Ass Valley. Shulva, Sanctum City is just an area DaS has no equivalent in terms of quality, or aesthetic. I mean damn, dude. What a stupid fucking post.

Never. I know a lot of people love it, but the game is just a DS beta, its inferior to DS in all aspects.
Also liscencing issues.

Someday in the future its going to be released in super HD for the ps 5 or whatever

I'd rather Sony put money on a remaster of Valkyrie Profile 2 or some other good PS2 exclusive
Fromsoft will milk the souls franchise for the next 10 years, eventually they will remaster DaS2 and 3 for PS5

>Fromsoft will milk the souls franchise for the next 10 years
Bamco is in charge of commissioning remasters for the Dark Souls games. They own it. Bamco could have gone to Bluepoint Games, or anyone. But they chose to work with Fromsoft again, and Fromsoft would've been stupid to go "no we don't want extra cash."

There isn't. That is probably the next remake they have in the list especially for the Dark Souls Remaster it would be perfect to add more soulsborne stuff to PS4 by announcing it. It would make a good selling point for the PS4 having both Nioh, Demon Souls and Bloodborne

Nioh was released on Steam a few months ago.

Oh yeah. Well Bloodborne and Demon Souls would still make it a good deal.

das is my favorite because it's the first one i played, i love des and bb though
fuck the god damned fishing hamlet though

The reason I haven't bought a PS4 is because it only has like 3 worthwhile exclusives. It really isn't a good deal.

>and why is Sony still jewing people out of experiencing 2/3 of the best soulsborne games?
Because Sony have effectively cornered a relatively lucrative section of the gaming market. BB sold 2.something million copies. Something about less than 10% of PS4 owners bought Bloodborne, but that's still a couple million dollars for Sony that they'll entirely lose if they sell the rights to DeS and/or BB.

I'm surprised Sony hasn't persuaded more companies to try and be more like Dark Souls

Do you have brain damage or something?

youtu.be/Np5PdpsfINA

>false king allant can delevel you
damn

>want to replay DeS
>every part of the game besides boletaria is THAT level

I'd rather have DeS remastered than DaS personally.

Exclusives are cancer.

Can you play DeS on ps4? just the old shitty ps3 quality?

Also why would they remake DS1 and not this? it makes zero sense to me

because everyone would be able to play DS1 and from would make 4 times as much profit.

basically

>and from would make 4 times as much profit.
>and from would
>and from
Bamco* They own the Souls series. They didn't have to work with From Soft again, but they chose to.

Having recently played this, I've finally lost all respect for Miyazaki. DeS plays like a PSX game and Bloodborne is like the second half of DaS1: The game, which I believe is more than just a coincidence. Who's the guy who replaced him for DaS 2 and 3?

Kek, FromSoftware(with Sony's money and Japan Studios) would never got to develop demons souls if wasn't for Sony.

>muh graphics and shieeeet
Fuck off, cunt.

>DeS plays like a PSX game
Why is this an issue?
>and Bloodborne is like the second half of DaS1
Elaborate.
>Who's the guy who replaced him for DaS 2 and 3?
Yui Tanimura did 2, Miyazaki did 3 but had co-directors giving out his directions, Yui Tanimura and Isamu Okano while he did The Old Hunters. However, Miyazaki went on record to say that nearly all of DSIII was done only with his approval.

honest question: why is everyone so mad about shrine of amana? I played DS2 on release and it never stuck with me as a particularly unenjoyable level. it's certainly better than AIDS peak, the eyefucking keep of concrete&lava, and the shitter

I have a theory that the people who complained about that place, even at release, were using shields. As a roller I didn't find it too difficult. Just challenging.

>DeS plays like a PSX game
Armored Core is a literally a PSX game and it's without question one of the best games I played last year.

get reported, biatch

>Dark Souls 1
>good design
Lmao, FromSoft never even fucking tried with Darks at all

Matthew is /ourguy/.

>FromSoft never even fucking tried with Darks at all
Yeah that must be why it has some of the best 3D level design in all of video games yeah, man.

user, didn't you hear? Everyone hates Lost Izalith, so the rest of the game's design is shit.

>Hopefully never
lol this. I played the game a 100 times, I want new games. make either BB 2 or DeS2.

I don't think I've played a better AC game than Project Phantasma.

>some of the best 3D level design in all of video games
You need to be 18 or...Shit, I forgot, sorry, just get the fuck out of here anyway, fucking underage disgusting faggot
No, every Dark Souls is lazy made shit

>No, every Dark Souls is lazy made shit
Yeah, man. Boletarian Palace? What a lazily made area with its wonderful shortcuts, looped design, great enemy placements. Yeah.
>just get the fuck out of here
Or what? You'll bitch at me?

All the PS1 ACs were god tier

>Boletarian Palace?
Nice reading comprehension, I haven't said shit about Demon's but yes, it is much better than anything in DaS series
You can fuck off now, retard

Pssst. Now watch this:
>Yeah, man. Undead Burg? What a lazily made area with its wonderful shortcuts, looped design, great enemy placements. Yeah.
>You can fuck off now
>Or what? You'll bitch at me?

Demons is best souls.

The level design makes much more sense in Demon's Souls.

DaS 1 > Bloodborne > DaS3 > DeS >>>>>>>> DaS2

...

What am I supposed to take from this?
Show me your taxes I mean reasoning.

That the level design on Demon's Souls was very well done and could very well exist in our world compared to Dark Souls fantasy non sense level design, not that is a bad thing by any means.

Watch this for further reason

>play Demons Souls near release
>be amazed at the originality and potential it had. A combination of MMO, action, RPG, and rogue-lite elements I've never seen before.
>be hyped as hell for the follow-ups. Imagine the new directions and improvements they could take with this foundation they created
>they do nothing with it. They just kept releasing the same game, but made it more action-orientated over time.

I will never not being mad. Demon Souls is nearly a 10 year old game. 10 years. For perspective, that's near the time it took to go from Super Mario 64 to Mario Galaxy. This is possibly the most stagnant hardcore franchise I've ever seen in my life.

I think the only reason its not happening while a newer game is getting remastered is because it might cause Bamco to get agitated. Like they need the brand recognition and name recognition to be associated to them.

So if Sony releases a new Demons Souls and many kids decide they like it more than the Dark Souls games they would feel they are losing IP power. Especially since they also made a big deal of making "3" the final Dark Souls. So the first game being the final one would undo their efforts.

I would love to see it happen though. Fun times.

>That the level design on Demon's Souls was very well done and could very well exist in our world compared to Dark Souls fantasy non sense level design
What is unbelievable about the Undead Burg? What is unbelievable about a poor township at the foot of a large walled off city?

Otherwise things like Blighttown, Black Gulch, etc. I can give you.

>they do nothing with it
An interconnected world separate from Demon's Souls level select yeah they did nothing with it. You guys are fucking idiots.

DaS1 was a worthy successor, I feel.
It took most of what was good about Des and expanded it in a new and interesting way with the connected world.

I agree about 2 and 3 though. They felt like they regressed more than progressed. I still had fun with them, but they were really disappointing.

An interconnected world is not an objective improvement over a linear one. It's just a change that Miyazaki wanted to do for DaS, and everybody had a boner for afterwards. Personally I liked the linear levels better, since you could offer better directed level design. Most later games also abandon the openness as they get later in the game, since it's harder to develop.

Besides that, for every step that Dark Souls forward, it also took an equal step back. It's not a worthy successor in any way at all, unless you have a boner for open worlds and that forgives any other fault the game had.

What systemic faults did DaS have that DeS didn't share?
Preferring linear levels is fair, but subjective. The change in world design is a significant and interesting change, whether you prefer it or not doesn't mean it isn't a development.
You can point out lots of individual things that weren't great about DaS. Lost Izalith and BoC are the biggest ones obviously, people bitch about twinking and backstabs, Gwyn being parrybait etc, and while they're all legitimate complaints to varying degrees none of them are stagnation.

I fucking loved the cathedral of the deep, I think it's my favorite area of 3

But no area will ever give me the feeling of "what the fuck is this place? where I'm I going? There is a fucking poison swamp here! a half spider lady thing! how the fuck I'm I going to get out of here?" it was the most immersive experience I'v ever had with a game

I started a new file recently in DeS on my PS3 and there were some really weird bugs going on. There are some moments where the framerate drops really low (I mean REALLY LOW) and there is a weird ringing sound from nowhere in the game, and the framerate and sound get worse when I move.
Does anyone else have this issue? Is this a game bug or an issue with my PS3?

Try playing offline. I think the NA servers are broken.

I'll try that, but I only started playing again to do online before they shut it down

Well, I can confirm that the Atlus servers are buggy right now. I had a crash happen to me at Valley of Defilement 2nd area, the swamp. Started out normal, and then the game started to experience a sound bug, travelling to other locations don't fix it. Then later on the lag started to affect the controls, and finally it became unresponsive. Quit the application before that happens.
Online still works though, got summoned as the old monk boss twice, and had one phantom as the boss.

I have no idea what's causing this but its not your game or mine.

I never got any of those problems when playing offline, just some rare framerate drops when crashing a lot of boxes and objects.

I'm having a hard time trying to summon someone...
