Just finished Xenoblade Chronicles 2, my first JRPG (excluding Persona 5) since the Playstation 1 era.
I gotta admit, I think its turning me weeb, I even keep watching Pyra-themed videos on youtube.

Because most non weebs don't know Homura means fire, so they changed it to keep the association. Plus Homura is one of the most generic Japanese names ever, so it makes her more recognizable.

Changing her name from Homura to Pyra I get. Like the change is ok based on what Prya actually means. What really grinds my gears is the abundant name changes to everything else. Hikari to Mythra? Like fucking what? Yoshitune to Akhos, Kamui to oboras, Benkei to Patroka, Byakko to Dromarch, Kagutsuchi to Brinhild, etc. The amount of name changes that make no fucking sense at all is way to damn high.
