Who even plays in tabletop mode? It's just a really gimped TV mode.

Who even plays in TV mode?
I play in Handheld mode at home because it's comfy

I do so I can watch Netflix on my tv

Depends on the game. Sometimes it's just nice to lay in bed with a movie going and playing handheld mode though.

Anyone who wants to play with motion controls and not swing their switch like mong.

Oh look at Mr. Privileged who can afford to buy a TV just as an accessory for a console!
I bet you own an electric dishwasher too!

Today was the first time I've tried handheld mode. I think I would still rather play TV, but it's much more comfortable then I expected doing handheld.

Handheld mode is a pain in the ass to get used to for splatoon.

Anyone who's playing multiplayer and isn't near their TV or if the TV is being used by someone else.

>watching shows/movies while doing something else
>playing games while watching something else
kys

I was just playing Resident Evil Rev2 in handheld mode a few minutes ago, and the gyro aiming works great with slight movements.

Try odyessy.

t. brainlet

I don't because apparently I'm retarded and can't figure out how to pull the kickstand out.

Retarded would be an understatement, you must be joking.

>Who even plays in tabletop mode?
I don't even own a Switch but I think this mode gets used for portable 2player games maybe? There was a guy who brought his to my local bar and was playing Steet Fighter 2 with his crew. Ended up with a crowd of people just standing around watching them play. Me included. Shit looks like pretty good fun 2 B honest. Might be buying myself one soon.

i don't have a tv so thats how i play splatoon which is way easier with high sensitivity motion controls

Tabletop enables me to use the Pro Controller undocked. Playing Street Fighter and Pokken Tournament with the Joy-Cons isn't comfortable at all.

Now don't tell me you can focus on those two tasks at once, especially when both require hearing and viewing

Im sitting here playing that way right now because the Switch is unwieldy and I want to use my monitor for shitposting.

Much like the WiiU the Switch is great as a desk console and shit tier as a living room console.

I wish I was joking. And also not retarded. It might just be stuck, I thought about sticking something in to pry it but I don't want to break it. I don't intend to play in tabletop mode but I'll need to get it open at some point to use an SD card.

I use tabletop mode while at work because using the faux controller is more comfortable than handheld mode

No sir, I have dishwasher with a winder you have to spin by hand

Most people like bg noise because they're lonely

>implying we aren't
Otherwise we wouldn't be in this shithole

I'm not lonely because I have you guys.

gay lol
nah I love you too guys

Wait, for real? When I bought the Switch the first thing I wanted to do was to see how good the games would look in handheld mode. I guess different people find different things about the Switch to be interesting but I bought it because it is such a powerful handheld and I felt it was what the Wii U should have been all along.

Just stop.I'm getting all veklempt, talk amongst yourselves, I'll give you a topic. Megaman is neither mega or a man. Discuss.

I tried it once. Then my battery died because I was playing Zelda and it eats battery life like a motherfucker.

I do at work because of the availability of tables

Was it in airplane mode? That helps

hori kickstand

If you think Zelda is bad, try Xenoblade 2.

I play in tabletop mode at my desk rather than handheld because I like motion controls and can't stand the way the joycons wiggle in handheld mode

Just pull it out. It's made to be popped right out and put back in. You can't break it.

That wiggle scares me a little.

Uh, the games I play are casual on the Switch, and I can pay attention to shows or movies.

*hugs

Haven't tried using airplane mode. Will do. thanks

I usually like to put on shows I'm familiar with. Something I can afford to not pay attention too but helps fill in the mental gaps when the game is getting a little dull. Also great when you need to do some grinding.

I did when I was in a restaurant because Mario Odyssey told me to.

It was okay.

Does it have an extra battery in it or something? I don't get your reply.

I do when I want to play in another room.

...

What were they thinking when they made Switch?
I can barely play the games for an hour before the system shuts off when I'm going mobile.
I remember when I used to play the shit out of Game Boy Color, those two triple A batteries easily lasted me weeks when I'd play for 5 or so hours each day. Switch can't do even a fraction of that.
Never been this disappointed at Nintendo. Should've just made an actual fucking console, fuck the "on the go" meme.

My friend and I played Metal Slug in tabletop mode when we were waiting in line for the SNES Classic.

This.

Also
>that kid who doesn't know how to take out the kick stand
Are you fucking serious?

Turn the screen light all the way down, then I'm sure it will last just as long as your GBC.

...

It reminds me of the Game Boy. I had this heavy brick that extended the battery life. You were fine as long as you charged your extra brick. I didn't bring the Game Boy outside of my home though because of the brick.

I got it open really easily with a guitar pick.

That works. It's a stubborn thing.

I have a brick at home it gets you 40 hours easy.

I played for like 2 hours straight on FEW in handheld mode & now my wrist hurts & my eyes feel like burning pain.
Console’s made to be in TV Mode, I don’t care what anyone says.

Tabletop mode is useless. The screen is too small and strains my eyes. It's like trying to read a book that's four feet away from your face.

Handheld is super useful, but the ergonomics of the console leave a bit to be desired.

it fits on my exercise bike's control console so i pedal and play mario kart

I want the Xenoblade Pro Controller because it looks sexy & has an actual fucking D-Pad, but I missed the boat by a week with my paycheck coming in, and now I gotta get one second-hand. Is eBay my best bet here? What’s the sign of a best-trusted source? Why print so little of something so nice-lookig & functional and mass-print some cheap, ugly Bing Bing Wahoo shit instead?

Chances of a kirby bundle or something?

Want to buy one but the fact that it doesn't come with a game is a turn off.

Yeah enjoy that dpad its a real fine dpad no issues real functional

I do handheld when I have my Switch on business trips.
Useful to just prop up on the hotel room desk and just relax

I use tabletop or handheld if I'm just quickly checking something in Splatoon and don't feel like switching over my monitor.

Nice. I would get one, but don't leave home often enough to bother.

Protip: if you have any DS3/DS4/Xbone S controller/WiiUPro, save $50 and just get a Magic NS

>2018
>Not having at least one of those controllers

No gyro

Switch looks really cumfy to play on TV
too bad my room is a pc wreck

There's gotta be a downside in every decision user

I would play in TV mode but my mother is damn annoying to have as a spectator.

I just re-read my post. I meant I have an og Gameboy and I don't see the point of a power adapter or extra supply because it gets like 40 hours battery life. That could be modern batteries though.

I have a hole drilled in my desk for this same reason.

Bundles are shit, now. You just get a worthless digital copy and have to pay the difference.
You're really better off just buying the base console, then buying the game at the same time.

Oh, yeah. I don't remember the batteries lasting very long when I was a kid. I was always begging for new batteries, so my dad got me the charger.

Yea, but I ended up getting a set of cheap 10 dollar plastic grips for my joycons and it helps a ton.

I really can't even play my Switch anymore without a set of grips. Namely the Gametech ones.

The viewing angle for tabletop mode just isn't good imo. I feel like I have to slouch just to be comfortable viewing the screen.
