Shit story, but the original Gears on 360 is one of my favourite multiplayer games of all time. I remember solid First to 19 round games on War Machine, some of the best fun.
Think of it like a very slow 3rd person UT cover shooter. Power weapons in set location, headshots are instant kill.
Hopefully #4 still has a bit of the same

Gears of war 1 was a great game but it never changed or grew, the scale got larger and more retarded but everything else was recycle. Im not sure why its so common to abandon atmosphere and a devote everything to spectacle. Multiplayer wasnt much better, turned into slightly more refined versions of cover spam abuse + rolling around with the shotgun, which they only 'fixed' by making more ranged instant kill weapons. Just another casualty of dogshit game directing/publishing.
