Is that the port with the shitty butchered midi music?

...

I was just playing that yesterday on a Windows 95 VM. Even though it works on modern machines and isn't actually supported for 95, but whatever.

sonic 2 had a pc port in a bundle pack iirc, but I can't find the cover art for it

I found this in a bargin bin for like 3$ when I was young. It was a decent port aside from the music. And all the MJ music was ripped out and replaced with totally new music like Launch Base's music.

My first introduction to Sonic

Pretty much the same situation for me. I actually really like the changed Launch Base music too

I'm assuming you're talking about this.

I never knew about a Sonic 2 port but I have both CD and 3&K. My 3&K CD has Sonic the Screensaver on it. I don't think the Sega PC Collection labeled one had that.

Roller CoasterTycoon on Xbox.
The fuck they were thinking?

yes, that's it!

I want to say Sonic 3D Blast was ported too. It actually had the Genesis music.

I saw this once, it makes me sad I didn't pick it up.

iirc 3d blast was the same as the saturn version, only difference being worse but still fully 3d special stages

It wasn't all MJ-related, you know.
One of the people who worked on the music for Sonic 3 just took an old track from his band and reused it for Ice Cap Zone.

It's stuff like this and MJ's involvement that makes a non-ROM rerelease with the original music intact impossible.

I remember playing the shit out of this collection. This was when I was still p o v e r t y b o y s

>I want to say Sonic 3D Blast was ported too. It actually had the Genesis music.
It was. I used to go to a day care after school, and it was one of the only games they had on the computer. Sonic CD had a PC version as well, I still have the disc for that somewhere.

Holy shit how did I never hear about this song until now.

The PC version of 3D blast is actually the second best version behind the Saturn version. It's also the only version with a save function. It's missing some of the fog/background effects though.

>One of the people who worked on the music for Sonic 3 just took an old track from his band and reused it for Ice Cap Zone.
There's a lot more to it than that, dude. That was Brad Buxer, who made a ton of collaborations and was a songwriter for Michael. The Carnival Night Zone fanfare was directly lifted from jam as well, complete with Michael's shout.

more sonic goodness
sonic 1 almost got ported to old home computers. was canceled

forgot to add a screenshot

do u no de wey?

It's weird. I had a Genesis, but all my Sonic games save Sonic 1 and Sonic Spinball Dash were on the PC. For some reason they were easier to find for me.

...

...

played the shit out of this on PC

From memory you're unable to legally acquire it now

Wow. Good thing it was cancelled.
That one screenshot gives me total Mega Man on DOS vibes.

Played the shit out of it, that game and souls sacrifice made the vita worth it

you know that thing came with a really kickass screensaver, here's the artwork from it if you want it.

imgur.com/a/sWRrx

If someone has a copy, how is it illegal?

Too soon?

I was about to post DOS Mega Man but then I remembered it's pretty much a different game rather than a port

>Y2K ready
I forgot how stupid the 90s were

Oh, please. That's not going to be forgotten.
There's going to be at least one shitposting thread about it up on Sup Forums for the forseeable future.

>ANOTHER DARK SOULS
and the fans have the nerves to ask for even more of the same shit over and over.

not a port, but we can still laugh at it.

It was illegal before?

no one remembers this game

>expert software

I get my shit hyped everytime I see this logo.

or that this was on PC

I still hope to god one day we'll see a Dynaman somewhere, like they did with Megaman in SFxT.

On the topic of Sonic, here's Sonic Advance on the taco phone.
youtu.be/4USXh5YreNY

Did they even do anything besides the Sega ports?

Support was dropped for it from Windows XP to 7 so it was stripped for sale from all online sevice stores, the only way to obtain it now is to pirate it

gross

Still had better physics than modern sonic games. And technically, every n-gage port is a forgotten port.

eh that just makes is abandonware like ChexQuest you can grab that for free from numerous sites

Saturn version's inferior soundtrack means it will never be the best version.

I had the Premium Arcade Games disc. I wish I could find an iso of it since it was full of some oddities I'd like to take a look at. One of the games I remember was a demo version of Atomic Bomberman that had swears in it for some reason.

Traveller's Tales Sonic games had the best music.
youtu.be/zex_DZcEn4o

Oh that looks amazing.

What the FUCK

youtu.be/d0BlM70n4Yk
First this, then Act Zero. Why do people keep thinking they need to shake up Bomberman? Just let him be.

that disc is all over ebay for like $5

Yeah, but then I'd have to actually buy it.

you can't want it that bad if you won't blow $5

I still have this laying around somewhere.

is that Billy West? because that sounds like Billy West

The PC Act 1 of Launch Base is better. Fight me.

Age of Empire on PS2.

Billy West and the guy who played Buster Bunny on Tiny Toons.

I always think of the PC version soundtrack first when I remember S3&K.

Anno 1701 on Nintendo DS.

oh ok the creator of cow and chicken David Feiss

they must have ebola

no wait Charlie Adler

There you go.

Someone post the Counter Striker and Half Life 2 ports for Xbox.

...

>Half Life 2 ports for Xbox.
That one is honestly impressive. Speaking of weird PC ports, my first exposure to Quake 3 was the Dreamcast port.

youtu.be/hTdNuyAlcyA

It's like a Nintendo switch but slightly higher resolution.

I don't know why, but the PS Vita has a shitload of ports that it really, really should not. Hell, even the Jak and Daxter port is hard to play because of how shit the framerate is.

Sonicman, Voltman, and Dynaman end up in Megaman 11 as minibosses. Would you buy it?

The joke for the longest time was that the Vita was a Port and Weeb machine because that was all that was ever released on it. Very few games didn't fit into one of those categories.

I can't imagine trying to play Borderlands 2 on a Vita.

Put the graphics on the bare minimum, and then run it at a 15 framerate. That's basically it.

This thing introduced me to Shining Force as a kid so I'm grateful for that.
