So I got a dirt-cheap WiiU in a bargain bin. I plan on homebrewing it up to play what little it has to offer for free. Obviously I'm going to play the top shit like BotW, XCX and W101, but what lesser known games can you recommend? Maybe some hidden gems, or even multiplats that get really enchanced by the presence of the tablet controller.

Google "best Wii U games" and look through the list. Or download Wii U USB Helper and scroll through the list and sort

I already know its best games. I want to know games that aren't considered best that are worth playing because they have interesting qualities about them.

You can Google that too. "Underrated Wii U games".

>what games can you recommend?

Isn't Devil's Third utter shit?

Nope.
It's hella fun.

Why Human Revolution? Is it significantly updated on Wii U?

DC only exists because of the Wii U.

It is, unless you had the system from launch and was that starved for content.
The game is complete garbage.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate

Yes it is. I payed $50 played through about half the game and hard quit because it's so boring and the gameplay is so trash. Think early PS2 generic shooter.

That's hardly a reason to play it again on Wii U.

OP asked for games that aren't considered the best but have interesting qualities. Deus Ex on Wii U is still a good game, has the directors cut content, and makes use of the gamepad screen.

>gameplay is so trash
git gut, faggot

...

It was primary development platform for the DC. The other DC releases are just ports of the Wii U version minus the Wii U exclusive features.

How does it use the gamepad screen?

Is that Fatal Frame?

Again, how does that qualify it as any different or better experience? I can play PC version and that too will have exclusive features, like good graphics and mouse controls. The question is whether WiiU features of the game make it stand out enough to be worth playing on it.

Yes.

>exclusive features
>like good graphics

Good, I definitely want to play that, especially since I heard you have to use the controller for the ghost camera function, that sounds like an interesting mechanic.

>mfw early hours Sup Forums can actually talk about vidya and the WiiU games
> a few hours later it's nohting but shitpost switch shill bait

Do you research and form your own opinion then. Just giving OP suggestions, not looking to argue about video games like a loser.

Yes, that is the shitty degenerate Fatal Frame that insults the franchise with it's fapbait fetish pandering, waifufaggotry and enormously dumbed down combat.

You can also catch up on NES, SNES, N64, GBA, GC, DS and Wii games if you missed any. All for free

...

>fapbait fetish pandering, waifufaggotry
Not as bad as XC2.

this. great way to catch up on stuff you missed from previous gens. never really played f zero gx on gamecube but I have a blast with it on my wii u gamepad.

>that sounds like an interesting mechanic

It is not. The only thing the gamepad brings to the franchise is being able to change orientation of the camera, something that makes absolutely no sense considering the camera obscura does not have a 16:9 ratio. You could actually play the game without the gamepad entirely except they omit HUD elements from the TV screen for camera mode forcing you to use the gamepad screen. In other words, it's just a pain in the ass.

HELLO? IS THIS THING ON?

Fuck off. I own every game in the Fatal Frame franchise and have been a fan of it since the release of the first game. Fatal Frame 5, without a doubt, is the worst in the franchise by a large margin. It's short, easy and incredibly stupid.

Yeah, I've encountered the possibility of emulation of older consoles on it, but how good is it? Does it increase resolution? Because with the size of my TV, even native Wii resolution looks really bad.

ZombiU
Resident Evil Revelation
MonHun Tri Ultimate
Need for Speed U (the only good game EA managed to make for the console)
Lego city Undercover
Nintendoland
Game & Wario (you'll appreciate it way more by playing it for free, really underrated, shame the miiverse is dead)
AssCreed Black flag
Rayman Legends
Affordable space Adventures (a must)
SEGA all star racing tranformed
Sonic Lost World
Tekken Tag Tournament 2
Scribblenauts Unlimited
Batman Arkham City

Well, I'm trying to avoid niche but obvious things like Pikmin and Bayonetta.

...

if you use HDMI, it upscales to the highest res available.

playing gamecube/wii games through the gamepad doesn't look bad at all since the gamepad screen is 480p and gc/wii games max resolution is 480p as well.

Sounds good then.

Thanks, that's an interesting list, I'll definitely check them out, especially Affordable space adventure, that control panel looks like an interesting game about resource management. But I'm not sure about Asscreed and BamHam, how do they use the gamepad, because if they just unload minimap on it and play the same then I don't really see much point.

>especially Affordable space adventure,
Only in local co-op mode.

Don't bother with the WII U one, it's the worst game in the series.

BamHam has some simple but ok gamepad integration. Black Flag, nah.

The combat music in X was so awful.

kys

toxic baka desu famalan

>music in X was so awful.
ftfy
UHHH
YEAH
UHH UHH
Whoever decided that hiring Sawano was a good idea should be fucking shot.

I only really hated the combat music. The city music was a meme, but you don't hear it that much and it eventually grows on your.
The other music in the game is great, just wish it didn't get interrupted by everything you do. Such a stupid decision
