What is the best KOF game?
What is the best KOF game?
Other urls found in this thread:
98, 2002, or Neowave.
Funny that the best ones are all non-canon dream matches.
Probably 99 for the canon games.
Hard to decide between 98 and 2002
2K2 UM or 13.
I think I prefer 2000 over '99. It improved everything I liked about '99. '97 and XI are also fantastic.
I really like XI and 2000 as well. 97 is good but I have a preference for 96 over it.
'96 controlled weird to me. It's still good and has the upper hand over '97 in terms of presentation and music, but I think '97's gameplay was a lot smoother.
Objectively 2K2UM or 98.
Personally I have a soft spot for 97, 01 and 03, even though the latter two are maligned by most players. I think I'm the only person alive who likes the 01 soundtrack.

'98 UM and 2002 UM are the best. '96, '97, '99, 2000, XI and XIII are also well worth the time.
>XI
I sure like getting wallbounced by Oswald for 30 seconds straight the second he lands a hit
Is it worth playing '99 if I've already played and loved 2000?
Can most of us at lease agree on this general grouping?
Stronger games:
96
97
98
99
2000
2002
XI
XIII
Ok games:
94
95
2001
2003
XIV
Please never again:
XII
Get out of my head, Charles.
Move 02 to OK and put 02UM in Stronger
01 and 03 deserve their own tier between Stronger and OK, they're both flawed but much more enjoyable than 94 and 95. Maybe throw XIV in with them. XII never happened.
>didn't even know KOF2000 was on PSN until the other day
Best strikers game by far.
>It's a Joe striker OTG combo episode
So is XIV not that great?
I could definitely see 2001, 2003 and XIV being their own tier.
For the record when I said 2002 I meant UM. I usually don't specify because I don't see why anyone would not mean UM, but I really probably should start just for the sake of being clearer.
So are the KoFs on the PS4 store worth buying? Are they just straight arcade board rips or do they have multiple single player modes like the home versions?
I mainly want to play through the arcade modes and experience how the KoF games changed throughout the years since I never really played one before 98.
2000 is the home version. '99 might be as well. Not sure though because I'm in Bongland and we don't have it.
The others are arcade versions. They're good, they just lack any bonus features.
Ah, yeah, '99 is a PS1 Classic release.
Real Bout Special and Garou: MOTW are also fucking awesome, btw.
If you stick to the ACA/AKA (Arcade Archives) stuff, those are all arcade perfect AES/MVS stuff.
Anything not labeled as being part of the ACA series won't be. Thankfully ACA content is still being released.
I'd throw vanilla Special and Real Bout 2 in with them as the top FFs.
>vanilla Special
As in Real Bout 1 or FF Special?
98
>Neowave
GTFO of here
Fatal Fury Special. The first RB is just called Real Bout Fatal Fury.
Pretty sure he means Fatal Fury Special, which is by far the most popular game in Japan and the most successful game in the series.
98UM or 02UM.
Cheers, niggas.
SamSho: II > IV > III > I > VS > VI > V
I'd put VS over III, desu. I still can't play a SS game to save my fucking life either way.
Its also on PC for free, with an actual playerbase.
98, 2000 & 2002!!!
>there are people who don't know that busta wolf wasn't in KOF until 2003
How exactly do i KOF?
XI
l2time your jumps
Hit the other guy until they're KO'd.
It's good, but there are better ones.
>samsho 2 over anything
SamshoVSpecial is true samurai kino desu senpai
Learn to mix up your jump height. Too many noobs use hyper hops only thinking that its the only jump height you need.
Metal Slug Attack
R-1 and R-2 for NGP/NGPC are still some of the best fighting games designed for handheld.
The sprite artist who makes all the content for this game is a crossdresser.
not surprised
