World > 3

>3 games
>3 games in a TRInity
OP serious question, are you retarded?
>A Sonic game
>A generic 2.5D platformer
Dumb millennial confirmed
>Tri = 3
uhm u stupid lol
This
Tri means 3, dumbass.
Dumn Gen Z confirmed, only Genesis styled Sonic games are good. That's why people can at least defend Sonic Advance because of it.
It forms a Hexagon, you retard
Huh, didn’t know it was Opposite Day
>trinity
>3 games
...
I can't believe I wasting my time with retarded baiters
That is not 3 sides, as circles have no sides.
You're fucking stupid thats why
>sonic
fuck no. i don't understand what people see in these bad platformers other than the chracters they want to fuck or become
I see Tropical Freeze regarded as great all the time, what's the appeal? Keep in mind that the most of any DK game I've played is a little bit of DKC1.
DKC2 > TF
You need to be 18+ to post here.
It's fun to go super fast, the levels are memorable, and they have good music.
If anything I don't get what people see in three since a lot of the levels are super short and pretty damn flat.
>DKC:TF over DKC2
>SMB3 over SMW2
>Sonic instead SotN or Super Metroid
>No Super Star Ultra or Planet Robobot
>No Super Metroid
>No Wario Land 4
Replace Sonic with Yoshi's Island
>S3K
>a lot of the levels are super short and pretty damn flat
I don't know what game you were playing but alright.
>Yoshi's Island
I think he's talking about Mario 3
I was talking about SMB3 ya dork.
>Trinity
>Only 3 games
>>>/reddit/
smw secret area really is awful game design
not only does it break the game but you have to very slowly backtrack to it every time you lose a life to get the cape/yoshi
at least 3 lets you keep the junk in storage
What's wrong with Yoshi's Island Mr. Plebian
Nearly flawless game
Sonic was never good
Go home IGN.
2easy4me I'm a master gamer who only palys hard games like Dark souls but that's 2easy4me too but I won't actually touch ghosts and goblins because that's 2hard
Why are you still butthurt about the IGN thing? Everyone else forgot about it a long time ago
Yoshi has some bullshit difficulty though.
It's convoluted. Nintendo couldn't even figure out which control scheme was better so they gave you two. Well designed games (like all the Mario games before it) don't need that.
>Yoshi's Island
>Easy
I take it you haven't went for 100%
It's called being snarky.
>more options is bad
>complexity is bad
...
Reminder that a trinity is not a triangle and has more than three points.
I was born in 1999
Relpace Tropical Freeze with Rayman Legends and we're OK OP
More options is bad. Why does it need options in the first place? The Super Mario games don't have "toggle to run" or anything else because they are not necessary.
Convoluted is not the same as complex.
>collects some of the stuff but just skips some of the flowers entirely
Eh
con·vo·lut·ed
ˈkänvəˌlo͞odəd/Submit
adjective
1.
(especially of an argument, story, or sentence) extremely complex and difficult to follow.
Donkey King
This is a no-brainer
>It's an ESL user whips out the dictionary episode
Colloquial use of "convoluted" implies that the complexity is pointless and unnecessary; it detracts instead of enhances, requires following meaningless steps instead of planning or thought.
There, now you learned two things today.
They aren't really necessary for Yoshi either
No one fucking uses Hasty
hasty's the better option once you get the hang of the game
Would a "toggle run" option make Mario worse though? Fuck no. It actually might make it better, you're basically holding the run button the entire game anyway.
Dk tf
Rayman origins
Sonic 3&k
If playtesters were that tripped up by the run feature that Nintendo thought it was necessary to include an additional control scheme, breaking the simplicity of the game, yes it would.
SMB3
Mega Man 9
Castlevania
fpbp
>sonic anywhere near the holy trinity
Replace with Rayman Legends
I really fucking doubt that it was added because the playtesters were tripped up lmao
Or are you so dumb that you think pressing A again after pressing A is a hard-to-grasp game concept
It's there as an added play style not an easy mode, in fact it might actually be harder
I think you might legitimately be autistic
Unless there are some hidden flowers or one in the "?" cloud, they did get all of them.
this is fact. 3 > World
>Yoshi’s Island for 2D
>TF for 2.5D
>64 for 3D
The true holy trinity
>64 for 3D
No
SMB3-SMW-M64
Mania had better level design and boss fights.
there are way too many good 2D platformers to limit it to just a trinity
>S3K, Mania
>DKC1, DKC2, DKCTF
>Mario 3, World, Yoshi's Island
>Super Metroid, AM2R
>SOTN
>rayman origins, legends
>megaman x
>Shovel Knight
>and many more
all are masterpieces
>white toad houses
This was my most played game as a child, how have I not seen those
>No Metrod
>No Castlevania
>No Megaman
The first Super Mario Bros is the best in the series.
Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat is the best DK game.
Sonic 2
AoS is way better than SotN.
Please do not name metroidvanias in this thread.
Super turd boy
nigger++
Dustforce is in another league to all other platformers.
Never played it, what makes it good?
>muh cape
this
The way its controls and movement are designed makes for very smooth and satisfying platforming. Its very skill based. Personally I really like the momentum. Also while completing a level can be a challenge in itself, its designed for ''SS'' playthroughs, as well as speedruns.
Also it has a very niice and peaceful soundtrack.
Be warned though that the controls are hard to get used to and you really need to perfect levels before moving on the next so that you keep up with the skill curve.
It maybe has the hardest platforming challenges of any game.
Check out matthematosis video on it, this is what made me check it youtube.com
Nah, it's: Super Mario Bros. 2, Bonk! 2 and Sonic CD.
White Toad Houses showed up under specific circumstances. Stuff like hidden exits in stages or ending the stage with the last two digits on the timer equal to the two digits in the coin counter (something like 2:11 and 11 coins) would trigger stuff like that. You could probably look up exactly how they happened, although you probably wouldn't see them just playing regularly.
That looks really fun, is there enough content to justify the $10 price tag or should I wait for a sale?
Its well worth the $10 if you playthrough it all.
However it has a high skill floor and is hard to get used to.
I'm tempted to recommend pirating it to see if you like it but at the same time I think anyone would like it once they get good at it.
Alternatively you could buy a steam key for like $2 off those reselling sites.
This might be a bit hard to explain, but can you elaborate on how the controls are hard to get used to? From that video it looks like you have a wall jump, double jump and some other move that you use to blow dust away which doesn't sound to complicated.
