I'll save us all the trouble before Fallout 5 comes out and say that this game wasn't really that bad.

Yes it was.
I agree. Dlc was a little underwhelming though. Also voiced protagonist was a mistake
Quiry:Can you name a single thing that made it better than NV?
Gunplay
Maybe if they didn't make him a blank slate.
Snake Carries MGS with his snarky comments.
Geralt Carries Witcher with his Dry Wit.
Aren't fallout MC's supposed to be blank slates?
thats not the point, point is it wasnt that bad
>in no ways better than a previous game and in many ways actually worse
>not bad
i still like 3 it has better exploration and leveling up the old way is way more fun then whatever they have now.
Oh it was pretty much one of the signs of the apocalypse. There is no way in hell that Bethesda is not going to find more ways to streamline the games to make them playable for the lobotomites crowd.
im not getting fallout 5 or any game from bethesda again
What does Fallout 4 sucking ass have to do with Fallout 5 sucking ass?
Fallout 4 wasn't a bad game compared in general to the other games released at the time, but it is one of the worst game in the entire Fallout series, almost Brotherhood of Steel-tier bad. Basically
>Ok game, but shitty Fallout game
It's horrible by comparison
Honestly my main gripe is the lack of gun variety like in Fallout 3
The whole "weapon modifications make up for it" is a joke, most mods are straight up upgrades, even mods that add armor piercing or burning damage are always inferior to straight up extra damage. There's like 6 pistols in the entire game, including laser and plasma.
Gameplay specifically Gunplay
also graphics, FNV is one of my favorite games ever, but that yellow color overlay is fucking awful, you need mods to remove it
its because there streamlining the shit out of there games its a trend ala skyrim vs oblivion vs morrowind
>Brotherhood of Steel-tier bad.
No user. Not even close.
now introducing Fallout 5: VR exclusive
>not the railroad
I would call it painfully mediocre game all around whether it be Fallout game or not. I hope to god that they get better writers and listen to some of the complaints by fans by the next game.
It's not THAT bad but it is bad.
Everything outside of the gunplay was downright awful. Stop your shitposting, Todd. It applied all the top gaming memes of the year to a weird borderlands clone.
Any game with that kind of weapon loot and scaling system is automatically a sub 3/10.
I don't think it's a horrible game, the dev team behind it did clearly try their best and it turned out decent. I just think the writers/developers etc. don't really have the passion for fallout, I think they love the series and love the lore but they aren't the guys at obsidian, I think Zenimax has something to do with how Bethesda treats their titles, I highly doubt Todd Howard likes to release bug riddled, content-shallow games. I like to think if Zenimax never got involved we'd have more polished games. It's really sad because I think everyone here can agree the developers at Bethsoft do give a shit, but they're kind of stuck making decent, ok games and ports.
Side note: Fallout 4 vanilla, on xbox, is an ok game for the first few playthroughs, but after that it really shows it's flaws, the in-your-face-where's-my-baby stuff being the biggest one.
They're referring to the Xbox title Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel.
Being able to just walk away from dumb npcs who are desperate to talk to you. Just turn your head enough and walk away, I'd kill for that in NV with how much I want to ignore all of those npcs who run up to you.
I got so tired of this dipshit I legit just blast him before he can babble on about the bottlecaps
It wasn't bad, sure, but it wasn't good. It was just okay. By far the worst between it NV, and 3.
I think the big problem is nobody really cares about Fallout. Legitimate Fallout fans are so much in the minority that it's better to just find a new crowd. There's just autismos who the only game they like and play is Fallout NV and people who aren't perturbed about any lore or gameplay changes cause Fallout 4 is just another game.
guy takes hours to show up, unlike the nearly pointless psych exam at the beginning that gets annoying after the first two times.
Ofc it wasn't a bad game, but it wasn't fallout either. If it was called "Shoot and Build: Post-apocalypse Adventure", there would never be so much backlash from community
They should put Far harbour guy in charge of next fallout and it would definitely be better imo
New Vegas is far more popular than 4 ever was. Look at Reddit, GameFAQs, RPGCodex, Sup Forums, /vg and any other games website. Nobody likes or talks about 4 but New Vegas is regarded as one of the best games to ever come out.
Holy shit you couldn't be more wrong. Fallout and Elder Scrolls at their core are supposed to be 'role-playing' games where you can be anyone. You couldn't even hardly be a bad guy in Fallout 4.
The point I'm making is that it's the only Fallout game that people care about. It's not a crowd you can please because they only like one game.
That's not an excuse. No other company just stops making games because "they only like one game", they just make a game that is as good as that one game.
New Vegas is a masterpiece because it's fucking good, not because it's some one of a kind magic game.
Bullshit. Everyone wants something similar to NV. It's why they liked NV.
Yeah, I have to agree that it would've been better to just have a small montage ala-ME2 of doc mitchell fixing you up, create character, then maybe a small conversation to establish what happened, give you the vault suit/pip boy and let you go.
...
This Brotherhood of Steel you doofus
youtu.be
And then they'll end up with another Chrono Cross to Chrono Trigger.
Am I the only one that REALLY liked Fallout 4? Okay sure, the voiced protag and simplified levelling/perks was disappointing, but I loved the settlement system (especially with mods) and combat so much.
"Only" one game? A lot of NV fans like NV because it followed more in line with 1&2, and because it was made by the same guys. 3&4 are spin off fanfics in story.
Honestly not too bad a deal imo.
The middle of the road is the worst place to be for a entertainment product user.
At least a product so bad can still considered "good cause its bad" and would still be remembered.
Fallout 4 is a good game
it just doesn't have a good evil system
I wish they had karma
I like Bethesda's spin to it
but I do wish it had more seriously good quests and good random encounters
but I roleplay as a BoS Raider
