Definitely doom. Shadow Warrior isn't even the vaguely honoring the original in any way. At least Doom turns doomguy into some holy warrior of perma rage and death.

Doom had the better weapons. Even ignoring the returning classic weapons, Gauss Cannon is fucking amazing

I replayed Shadow Warrior about a year after I finished it the first time and wasn't bored by the end of the second chapter, so it's the better reboot.

Weapons were a bit more fun in Doom, except for the chainsaw. The chainsaw in SW2 blows Doom's away

Doomguy's entire personality in D44M is based on a single comic page where he was chimping out on a berserker pack but it's the biggest doom meme so it has to be everywhere.

As someone who played 1 and not 2, explain what you mean.

I've put over 20 hours into both games and have never had trouble killing enemies with the guns. Especially the shotguns

2 slightly improved combat and then ruined everything by making it a Borderlands-lite game. Loot, weapons with stats, crafting, and no real level design much of the time. Just open maps that are like "go here and kill thing lol".

If you can't kill things with SW2's multibarelled shotties, you're a complete fucking shitter. Multishot+damage boosts rip through monsters, even better if you're hitting elemental weaknesses.

This. Although I REALLY fucking like the cyberpunk city and how open it is. That place is god damn gorgeous. That's really the only good and memorable area in the game.

While I still enjoyed it, it definitely would've been better as just a linear shooter like 1, without all the Borderlands bullshit

Not really. It is mostly dick jokes. I think there was one Lo Wang line that seemed SJW out of context but basically was a giant piss take.
I very much enjoyed it too, I think all of them are pretty good. I just prefer a well done linear map over a shitty open one.

The first couple of levels were shit yeah but it picks up massively after that. The only thing bad thing it kept from those were the hitscan enemies, everything else about the game was great and if you disagree you're literally gay.

The irony is you actually believe that when in ten years time D44M will be some forgotten piece of shit and in ten years time Doom 1/2 - 35 years after they came out will still be played, modded for, and generally awesome. There's a reason for that.

Shadow Warrior IS Doom, with actually unique enemies and fight styles, gameplay mechanics, and level design that is more then just AY LMAO ROCK AND CONCRETE.

Why would that be your honest opinion? Doom's levels consist of literally concrete and rock blocks. Shadow Warrior actually has things like ramps, floors, curved walls, etc. and levels that are varied.

Doom had some verticality, better jumping and better weapon upgrades, tied to exploration. I agree that Shadow Warrior's levels are more pleasing to look at, but they're kind of flat.

SW2 seemed like great base game that lacked content and proper polish
Areas are reused too often and the end game lacks in difficulty and proper ui design.

Doom 4 actaully feels like a complete package, and while the multiplayer wasnt especuallt good, i did in the end really like it when the dlc came out for free.
Dozens of maps, plenty of modes, shitton of customization, if only it had custom servers it would probably keep on playing it.

Wopuld say SW2 is a 6/10 and Doom 4 is a 8/10 game

Overall i was let down by all old school shooters, SS3 was a fucking trainwreck, that cyberpunk game in the city felt low budget as all fucks, almost no budget at moments and all painkiller fallowups were done by some no experience no name studios to which the publisher kept exporting it to after people can fly was bought out by epic.

Doom. They both kinda take a "Lock you in a room and spawn enemies" approach that isn't very faithful to the originals, but Doom was faithful in other ways with it's run and gun speed, enemy variety, and even going as far as completely ignoring reloading or anything, and the power ups you had throughout the game meant a lot more and generally just felt more polished. Shadow Warrior did a lot of things Doom did but felt like half measures in comparison and didn't quite put as much thought into it. Plus the enemies were painfully more bullet spongey. As someone who grew up playing both back on a really old computer before mouse and keyboard was even thought of as a real control method, new Doom reminded me more of playing an old FPS than new Shadow Warrior did.

Its just short 1 button press executions on STUNNED ENEMIES THAT DONT MOVE, its sure as fuck isnt a melee combat system.
Also i like it especially on higher 2 highest difficulty levels, the rush of almost dying while chasing thsoe few immunity frames rising death when its done is great.

I'll say this on it. nuDoom's melee serves a purpose. On the chance that you nearly kill an anime, you can run out of whatever hole you might've ducked into to finish an enemy off for some HP and ammo. It's a risk/reward thing. Shadow Warrior uses it how melee has been traditionally used and used poorly in the past: As a short range gun.

You press a button and the game plays a bunch of random gore animations that don't correspond to any of your input. They're just inline cutscenes.

Both games are fun but nuDoom was more fun for me, plus I loved the soundtrack of nuDoom.
