Star Wars

Do you think the stigma from Battlefront 2 by EA will leak into their other games and cause Disney to revoke the license from them or are we doomed of mediocre releases until the death of the franchise?

If I were Disney, and honesty were not an option, I would blame The Last Jedi's box office decline on Battlefront 2 and use that as an excuse to cut EA loose. They've blamed everything else other than the movie being bad so why not.

why do StarWarsfags hate TLJ? Thought it was really good

>brainlet who likes the avengers movies

>why do StarWarsfags
I'm not even going to read the rest of your stupid fucking post. Kill yourself, my dude.

autism mixed with muh race and muh gender

I'd love to see that.

>I'll just make fun of him instead of answering his question haha take that
If TLJ really triggers you faggots that hard than I like it even more

>being so allergic to fun that you don't like the Avengers movies
What kind of movies does an educated euphoric gentleman such as you enjoy?

>inb4 he doesn't answer because he's an anhedonic failchild whose only enjoyment in life comes from hating things over the internet

Holy shit dude you're so cool. Can you sign my steam profile?

People don't like change and shit. Regardless of how good/bad the new trilogy was there will always be an army of people to say it sucks.

That and Rey is literally the definition of Mary-Sue. The fact that she possesses the force abilities and power that she has despite barely any training whatsoever. How she can best both Luke and Kylo Ren, despite them both having years of training in their art as well as actual physical/metaphysical power. On top of that she can repair and pilot the pile of junk that is the Millennium Falcon better than it's owner can despite never having flown anything of the sort.

Don't even get me started about how she doesn't face any hardships that she can't overcome.

That being said I enjoyed it and saw it in theaters twice.

has disney been disappointed with the box office results of last jedi?

Did you just learn that word or something, kiddo? Nobody is impressed.

You kikes are overpaid.

They won't admit it publicly but they are in full damage control.

They fired Joss Whedon from the Marvel movies because Avengers 2 made $100 million less than Avengers 1. The Last Jedi has made almost $800 million less than The Force Awakens. Heads are gonna roll, but the question is whether or not Kathleen Kennedy can save her job as head of Lucasfilm by passing the buck completely to Rian Johnson.

Fans are never going to like to new Star Wars movies no matter what, because it'll never be as good as their head canon or because it doesn't follow EU.

And now, with that being said. From a story telling, script, editing and general movie quality perspective: TLJ was dog shit.

What?

Neither of these are arguments, congrats on proving my point

Solo is coming out soon too, and that looks to be even worse than TLJ.

TBF breaking from EU was a fucking mistake.

>From a story telling, script, editing and general movie quality perspective: TLJ was dog shit.
What kind of movies do you consider good?

>looks to be even worse than TLJ
>implying their damage control isn't so bad that they actually gave us literally anything about it to look at

Exactly.

Star Wars is dead. Forever.

Movies without an "idiot plot", a 30 minute side story that does literally nothing, forced quippy dialogue, destruction and complete reversal of character arcs, quick pointless death of a big bad (Snoke AND Phasma), Leia being Mary Poppins, "muh spark to light the fire of the Rebellion!", Benicio Del Toro clearly phoning it in and being by far the best actor, and weaponized lightspeed.

I think I'm the only one who didn't mind that Rey's parents were nobodies, trying to make up some important characters as her parents would have looked forced and stupid.

It really is.
If things had been different and Star Wars was not dictated by feminists and diversity hires maybe something great could have happened. Imagine The Star Wars universe from Jedi Knight II and Jedi Academy with a few major alterations becoming movies.

the guy that made the video, user...

You haven't named any movies. Why the fuck don't you faggots just NAME the movies you like.

Oh right, it's because you probably don't even like movies anymore because every single movie ever made is shit, because liking things in the sekret klub isn't cool.

I'm keeping it under lists of things I don't really care about

The first three movies were enjoyable enough (even if return starts to go off the deep end) but I'm glad that I never was convinced to go any deeper into the fandom, the series really isn't so good as to warrant all this sequel and fanfare.

t. angry fan boy

A New Hope
The Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi

Fuck off rat shill.

because of a billion stupid reasons.
i liked it a lot, as much as i liked rouge one. on par with ANH, the best star wars movie.

every star wars fantard should watch this

they literally cant refute it

Personally, it was an enjoyable movie but I can see the cracks. Having TFA rehash the original movies creates the problem that these new movies are missing context as to why the Empire is back and why the Rebels are such a small force after basically winning the galactic war. Now there are answers, but it's all in EU material like the visual dictionary.

So TLJ was fun but it felt sloppy. I came away from it thinking there were lots of plot holes. I found the answer to those plot holes in the VD but I still felt unsatisfied, and after thinking about it I think I know why. The movie is over 2 hours long but the pacing still felt rushed. Canto Bight ate up a lot of screentime unnecessarily and to compensate they butchered the whole plot with Holdo so you don't get the context that perfectly explains her actions. Yet they prioritized screen time for a "yo momma" joke and a guy licking the ground. There's plot threads brought up in TFA that are ignored and some of the plot twists felt really forced, like "twist for the sake of it" kinda forced.

I like Star Wars, but I'm not gonna eat this shit up blindly. I feel the slip in quality so I'm not gonna ignore the shitty writing and such. I'm glad if the movie is hurting because they can and should be putting more effort into the writing.

Like when people defend Snoke by going like "it's just like the Emperor in the original movies". That was a brand new setting, these new movies are not and it feels really lazy to add such a huge character to an ongoing story with zero introduction, not even a single comment like "oh I remember when Snoke first suddenly appeared". This wouldn't be a problem if they were establishing a new setting but they're not, all the old characters are still here. It's just lazy, "oh look it's Luke Skywalker I CLAPPED WHEN I SAW IT" and then zero effort on the rest of the plot. I expect better.

t.Rian Wifeson

NO

If I was a SW fanboy I would be happy because Last Jedi is a good movie.
>still hasnt named a movie he likes
t. depressed failchild

No one feels the need to name movies they like for you, faggot. A lot of people dont like TLJ and for some reason this triggers you. Sad.

>ehehe not argue mint

>most of the leading women (especially Rose and Holdo) make retarded decisions that blow up spectacularly in their faces and leave the Resistance worse off in the aftermath.
>Leia not communicating properly with Poe
>Rey openly trusting Kylo
>Rose stopping Finn’s sacrifice, allowing the Nu-Empire to assault the bunker door and the two of them somehow not getting sautéed by Walker fire
>everything that comes out of Holdo’s mouth.
>phasma portraid as a total loser who can't do anything right.
>Finn and Rose being shocked they were double crossed by DJ. He wasn't an old friend like Lando to Han in ESB, but a random, shady, indifferent criminal who made it clear he had no moral compass.
>portraying Yoda as a cackling, drunken old master like in Empire. The problem is that Yoda only acted like that in Empire in order to test Luke when he didn't suspect he was Yoda at all. He drops the act for the rest of the trilogy once Luke finds out. It's not actually Yodas personality.
>Why did Holdo pull rank on Poe, even though he’s like the 3rd highest ranking officer left, if she’s later going to tell Leia that she thinks he’s the next choice to lead the resistance?
>Shitting on fans by having Supreme Leader Snoke call Kylo Ren a lame Darth Vader cosplayer. He literally called his helmet ridiculous, and told him to take it off. Ren smashes the helmet and crys.
>Luke handing Leia her late's husband golden dice as a keepsake, but LOL IT WAS JUST AN ASTRAL PROJECTION.
>Leia just leaves the dice on the floor before she knows they are fake. Because who cares about Han.
>Lacking in actual alien diversity, focusing instead on diversified humans
>Literally ZERO character development, the only thing that happened is characters died or became ambiguous in nature, that's it.
>Pink hair for the captain's chair
>Luke becomes a literal useless infant
>A full galaxy and only 400 human rebels? What is this, a joke?

>Rey is a Mary Sue. She has 0 training, but is a match for Kylo and even Luke. Why not just give her some kind of back story that explains how she became so good at fighting and using the force.
>Lukes character assassination.
>Milking of weird space creature.
>Fishing in the most ludicrously complicated way possible.
>Attempted to kill his nephew because he “sensed potential future” evil, even though he never gave up on Vader, who had already committed mass genocide, and personally killed children.
>Turning his back on friends, family, religion, existence.
>Luke fakes out Kylo with a hologram, in order to avoid being killed. But then he dies seconds later, from the exhaustion of projecting the hologram.
>Leia flying like marry Poppins.
>All other star wars movies have a span of time between them, to create an Epic that spans the ages. That is why there is a crawl at the start of the movies. It’s to explain what has been going on. However, TLJ happens moments after TFA, with no time for epic character development.
>Where are the knights of Ren?
>Pointless Casino Planet side story that added nothing to the overall plot.
>If Rose and Finn can escape together to a distant system, and then return, undetected, why can’t everyone take turns sneaking off and on in this fashion? Two or more leave in a pod, one comes back, two or more leave, one comes back, etc.
>Kylo Ren shirtless scene wearing urkel pants.

>. Sad.
haha what the fuck is that you trump

Yes, user. You got me, TLJ was a great movie but I'll never admit it because I'm trying to look cool on an Eskimo bicycling board.

>Forced Jokes that make no sense.
>Iron/spaceship gag
>Finn walking around in a bubble suite.
>Luke drinking space milk.
>All random Porg scenes.
>Captain Phasma being killed by the Janitor.
>Basket Ball 8 driving a walker... hohoho, so funny. So much funnier than when cheque and the ewoks did it in RotJ
>Finn, trying to save his friends with an amazing act of Love (Agape), is stopped and told, “we’re going to win this war, not by fighting what we hate, but by saving what we love”. The problem, is that Finn was not full of rage at this moment, or trying to kill anyone, he literally was motivated by saving people.
>How did an injured Finn and Rose run all the way back to the Base without being killed by all the First Order troops that were standing right next to them
>Benicio Del Toro stuttering for no reason.
>Death of Admiral Ackbar for no reason. Just a mention of him dying. Why even bring him up. Should have just not even mentioned him. Why even include him in the movie just to kill him in such a pointless way.
>Based on the timeline of the movie, Han just died. No one talks about it? No funeral? Seems odd that no one noticed that he died. No one seemed upset about it.
>Why wouldn’t Holdo or Leia just tell Poe her plan to stop the mutiny?
>How is Holdo’s plan even a secret. The New Order would easily be able to track their trajectory to the next closest planetoid.
>Why can’t the New Order just use hyperspace to jump in front of the resistance ships and surround them, how does this make any sense.
>the First Order has a tracker on just one ship, so why don't all the other ships jump to hyperspace and just abandon the lead ship with the tracker on it?
>Luke throwing his lightsaber over his shoulder for comic relief. This totally ruined all of the build up of TFA and makes no sense at all.

No. Because Disney is getting a cut of a loot boxes you losers spend all your day fucking adverting!

Sup Forums is basically a place for free advertising and you suckers don't even get paid!

>haha what the fuck

Jesus, this is an adult board. I fucking hate idiot kids shitting up the place.

>I liked it when iron man punched the faceless waves of cgi baddies and stops the big blue energy spire
Lmao

>Holdo tells Poe not to go on a suicide mission. Holdo then goes on a suicide mission
>Bringing back Maz and giving it screen time. What was with that out of place shoot out / video conference. Very hokey.
>C3P0 does the same old joke about calculating odds. Droids do nothing in the movie, just like TFA.
>The imperial ships turbo lasers can't hit a ship directly in front of it.
>Why is Finn reprimanded for trying to sacrifice himself to stop the First Order in between Luke and Holdo doing the same thing?
>Why did the two former slaves rescue the race horses instead of the child slaves?
>How the fuck does this force balance thing work? How is Rey stronger after Snoke dies? Why does she more powerful than Ben if she’s supposed to meet his power? Why is she able to move the rocks if Luke and Leia are still alive? Isn’t that 3 super powerful light side users compared to one darkside user? Shouldn’t she have had to wait for Luke to die to have enough force mana to lift the boulders?
>The explanation TLJ gives for Rey being a Mary Sue, is pretty lame. Kylos training powered her up. She is the light side that meets the dark, so whenever Kylo trains and becomes more powerful, she automatically 'levels up' to meet that power without having to do a single thing. It is such a shitty and unsatisfying explanation. Just very bad writing.
>After seeing TLJs force balance logic: Why isn't Luke as powerful as Vader in ESB? Obi Wan died in the last film, so there are now equal Jedi to Sith (Yoda/Luke, Sheev/Vader). Training in Nu-Wars is irrelevant as long as there is someone on the other side of the force who is powerful to give you a boost, so did Luke need to find Yoda to train at all? Shouldn't he have 'Rey-ed out' on Bespin and kicked Vaders ass?

Some of these reasons are some of the most uncontrollably autistic nitpicks I've ever seen, thanks for the laugh

>muh sophisticated taiwanese basket-weaving forum

also i'm 25 mate.

Because "reee niggers and roasties in leading positions". You're going to hear other reasons but I guarantee you that is the main one that almost completely governs their opinion of it.

Can we talk about how the gook stopped the spook from the suicide to destroy the laser because "we're gonna win by saving the people we love" in turn letting the laser fire and kill dozens of other people that they loved?

>I-I-IT'S JUST NITPICKING!!!!!!

>Everyone berates the fuck out of Poe for losing like 80 percent of the fleet to take out the dreadnaught
>despite the bombers doing their job even though they're made of paper
>despite the fact that while Poe did indeed disobey Leia, so did everyone else.
>despite not being able to take down the bombers and xwings with them to Not!Hoth since the empire could track them
>despite the now realization that if Poe hadn't taken down the Dreadnaught, the Dreadnaught would have just appeared 5 minutes after they came out of hyperspace and BTFO'd them anyways, except now with a much larger fleet.
>Kylo would have blown the fuck up out of any ships anyways, because apparently nobody puts shields on their hangars anymore

It's a propaganda film. The average Joe doesn't understand that. He understands that they ruined Luke Skywalker, his childhood hero, but they don't understand why they ruined Luke Skywalker. He just knows that they did, and that the movie is trash for it.

>they build a third fucking deathstar
>but this one is as big as a planet
>and it has the same fucking weakness as the original deathstar
>a random black janitor somehow know the vital information about this space stations only weakness
le just turn your brain off

>StarWarsisnotspecialanymore.jpg

It’s literal filler trash to sell merch from now

user you do realize that just dumping your opinions like this isn't actually going to achieve anything?

Finn didnt even have a big role. You're dumb soyboy.

Well that's China's main reason and they don't give a fuck about admitting it.

fucking checked

You're assuming Star Wars is doomed ONLY because of EA. Disney themselves is a plague for whom they willingly and wantingly associate with, EA was just the fucking start. Them getting the Star wars brand doomed it from the very start of the acquisition.

You need look no further than J.J. "Gas the whites, they're a blight" Abrams for your "future" of Star Wars.

he had tunnel-vision and was gonna get rekt by the laser before being close enough to do anything.

>tfw you enjoy a Star wars movie that sends republicucks into an autismal rage
loving EVERY laugh

7 more years.

this movie seems to be a massive redpill, the anti-male anti-white sentiment gets brought up pretty often in bad reviews

Politics aside how can you even call yourself a man?

yeah let's laugh at those Chinese republicans

>someone went to the trouble of compiling this image
Now that's what I call autism.

>why didn't the resistance read the script so they knew what the empire was planning
honestly stumped, can't believe this glaring plot hole

That's fine, I'll get some more good Star Wars movies to help pass the time!

triggered

Does anyone else fucking hate the name "The Resistance"? It sounds so weak, especially compared to something strong sounding like Rebellion.
I know how pity that sounds but I just can't get over it. This isn't just me, right?

t.libshit who keeps his shoes on in the sanctuary

Do you ask the same question to those on the other side doing the exact same thing to piss dem libturds off? Is this one of those it's ok when we do it because we're totally based scenarios?

Idk man, he was right fucking there. Maybe I misremember how close he was. I also don't remember the resistance losing a ton of fighters like they acted they lost when demoting Poe, especially when you consider they took out a fucking star destroyer, is it just me and I'm completely wrong?

Are you mad you saw something resembling a real person rather than the super-powered badass who would take his laser sword and win the whole war on his own like you imagined? I truly and genuinely dont understand people being mad about luke being disillusioned rather than a stereotypical wise master. It seems like the most absurdly neckbeardy thing imaginable to be mad about

The series has been that way since Return.

ITT: Disney's hired marketing agencies damage control the jews last anti white abortion.

You have Last SJW threads to damage control on Sup Forums. Go back and stay there.

this honestly.
they probably don't even know it themselves, so they tro to rationalise the feeling they get of being threatened by the movie by listing "flaws" of the movie that basically boil down to "this is not what i wanted to happen".

Yes, Poe disobeyed orders to take down the Dreadnaught. But they still should have had the realization that after they learned they could be tracked and now have the first order armada on their butt, their ass would have been grass should the Dreadnaught not been taken down.

2 mouse shekels have been deposited into your account

>capcom
That explains so much.

>bla bla bla ima fukin beta male i am so smart i am so smart

>ha ha-ha... You're the ones that are mad, not me!

Can't tell or do anything right now because Solo is coming soon.

It's just a bunch of alt-righty nerds getting triggered by the sight of women.

I have this theory that nobody gets angry over comic book movies because they come from a source material, so they're predictable. Star wars isn't predictable and nerds hate that.

The entire point of Luke's character was that the jedi order will never die so long as you have hope. He was supposed to be eternally hopefully against all odds no matter the situation

In other news I'm really hoping the Dune movie is gonna be good.

so forces beyond anyones control made a stupid decision right well after the fact. That doesnt make him any less of a reckless idiot for doing it in the moment with the information they had

i'm not 100% either, but i really got the feeling finn was gonna die without achieving anything while watching the movie. to me, at least, he seemed too far away. and the new chick rescuing him goes well into the theme of "stop trying to be a hero and sacrifice yourself for nothing, take a step back and think" that the movie is going with.

he was still disobeying an order. his demotion wasn't because of the consequences of his actions, but because he did them. he was being reckless in a manner not fitting of someone his rank.

Calm down.
